The thing with jks "scandal" is kinda dumb because he never promoted his brother brand. I didn't even know That his brother had a clothing brand ๐Ÿ˜‚ and isn't it just stupid of armys to buy everything he touches ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I mean it's not his fault. In my opinion. It get to a really ridiculous point where he removes labels from water bottles cuz he know that people will buy out shit ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
While I personally don't have a problem with JK wanting to wear clothes that he likes and finds comfortable, even if it is his brother's company that he has a stake in, I can understand understand people would think he's doing backdoor advertising.
We all know JK is the king of sell outs and we know that he knows it too. He's mentioned before that when he mentions liking something, clothes or detergent, he has a hard time finding it after because army goes and buys it. It's the reason that one brand of hanbok specifically thanked him (and why modern style hanboks are becoming popular, I think I saw an article about that.) So JK is aware of the effect that he has and probably used some kind of bias in wearing his brother's clothing in documented pictures. On a subconscious level he's aware of this backdoor advertising and I could see how Korean army's especially feel negatively about this and I do agree that transparency is important. And I think that's the problem people are having and why they're calling it a scandal: JK "using" army's "ignorance" of not knowing its his brother's brand and posting pictures like he has in the past of other brands and then those selling out. If people knew it was his brother's brand and that he was a part of it and he was posting pictures in clothing and "advertising" for it I think he would face WAY more backlash.
However I also think it's a little ridiculous I saw it be called a scandal and I feel bad that he probably feared enough of a public attack that his first course of action was to take himself off, at least in a public sense, his brother's board of employees. I haven't seen anything else about it so I don't know if it's already blown over, but anything involving BTS and really JK (because I think he's universally the most "popular" member) sadly gets blown out of proportion quickly.
I also don't want to call army's stupid for wanting to buy something that their idols like. I may not have any clothing, but I sure as fuck bought into the marketing that was the cuteness of BT21 and those plushies. It's just worrisome when it comes to younger army's because they are more impressionable and good enough marketing is enough to convince them that they NEED something just because it has their idols on it. I will FOREVER be pissed that BH was selling water with a BTS logo on it for like... 16 bucks. How absolutely outrageous and frankly disgusting.
