【A3! Translation】 Sky Gallery (8/11)

Chapter 8

Tenma: ......

Kazunari: ....Uh, Tenten? How much further?

Tenma: According to this map, we're almost there.... I think.

Kazunari: Are you sure we're headed the right way? You don't exactly have the best sense of direction, Tenten! You're not gonna get us lost, right?

Tenma: S-Shut up! It's just that I rarely use paper maps, so I'm not used to them!

Kazunari: That just worries me more....

Kazunari: Anyways, I wonder if it was a good idea to leave everyone behind.

Kazunari: I know we left because I couldn't sleep, but I don't even have my phone on me, will we be okay?

Tenma: I left a note saying where we're going, so they know where to find us.

Kazunari: If we actually make it to our destination, that is....

Tenma: All you've done is say disturbing things since we left!

Kazunari: Sorry, sorry.

Tenma: There's the sign. Looks like we're almost there.

Kazunari: Really!? Amazing, Tenten!

Tenma: I told you so.

Kazunari: !!

Tenma: ....I've heard this is the best view in the city.

Kazunari: Incredible.... It's so beautiful.

Tenma: This place is famous for it's amazing views. Pretty nice change of pace, huh?

Kazunari: ....Looking out at such a wonderful sight, it makes my worries seem so small.

Kazunari: .....I poured my heart and soul into that piece I did for the open-call exhibition. After all, it's a stepping stone towards my future career as an UMC.

Kazunari: I aimed to create something that would resonate with the hearts of as many people as possible.

Kazunari: And then I actually got accepted, and tons of people were able to see my artwork.... But I got a lot of comments on SNS saying I only made it in thanks to my Papi's connections.

Kazunari: Seeing them rip apart my work, and making all sorts of assumptions.... It wore me out a bit, y'know?

Kazunari: SNS was the one place where I thought I knew how to interact with others better than anywhere else...

Kazunari: I never thought something like this would bother me.

Kazunari: And now, I'm starting to worry that there might've actually been some strings pulled that I wasn't aware of...

Kazunari: Once I started thinking about it, I couldn't stop, and it became hard to see posts with even the slightest amount of criticism.

Kazunari: I love SNS, and painting, but I think I want to distance myself from them for a little while.

Kazunari: That's why I was surprised to hear this trip we're on is actually a digital detox.

Kazunari: You know me so well, Tenten!

Tenma: ....Is that so.

Kazunari: But, right now, something about this view... really makes me want to paint.

Kazunari: I may not have my phone, or a camera, but I want to capture this scene before me in my own artwork.

Tenma: ...Then there's only one thing you can do.

Tenma: You guys can come out now.

Kazunari: ???

Misumi: Okay~!

Muku: Sorry, we've actually been following you.

Kumon: And you had no clue~.

Kazunari: You were!?

Tenma: Did you bring it?

Muku: Yep.

Muku: Kazu-kun, this is....

Kazunari: ....My art supplies?

Muku: Sorry for bringing them without your permission.

Muku: I packed them in my luggage in case you wanted to paint again, so that you'd be able to right away.

Muku: After all, all I want is for Kazu-kun to keep painting his beloved artworks...

Kazunari: ....Thank you, Mukkun. I was just thinking about painting!

Tenma: ....As you get more famous, the amount of criticism you get inevitably increases with it.

Tenma: Ever since I was a kid, all I've been told is that I'm just riding on my parents’ coat-tails, benefitting from their influence. And the truth is, sometimes they're right. There have been roles I've only gotten thanks to their connections.

Tenma: But, even still, I make an effort to see it as another opportunity. Whatever the motive was, I always want my viewers to be satisfied.

Tenma: It's the same with your paintings. If your artwork is able to leave a lasting impression on those who see it, that's your true ability.

Tenma: It's impossible to have everyone in the world on your side. But you, you've got Summer Troupe, Director, and everyone else in the troupe alongside you.

Tenma: Isn't that enough?

Kazunari: ーー.

Kazunari: ...Y'know, you're really convincing, Tenten.

Yuki: Well, aren't you talking all cool. But what about you?

Tenma: ....What are you talking about.

Yuki: You're reluctant to play the co-lead, right?

Tenma: ーー.

Kumon: Definitely, usually Tenma-san wouldn't hesitate to take it.

Muku: Tenma-kun, is there any reason why?

Tenma: ...Since receiving the Fleur Special Award, not only is the name recognition of the theater company increasing, but the names of our individual members are, too.

Tenma: Like with my co-star in my drama the other day, it seems Summer Troupe's gaining more recognition and fans.

Tenma: So, I figured it'd be better if someone other than me was the co-lead.

Tenma: For example, Misumi's guest performance has been highly talked about lately, and his acting's getting a lot of praise. If he were to play the co-lead here, that recognition would only grow.

Tenma: That's whyーー.

Yuki: It's weird seeing you being so attentive.

Misumi: I think Tenma's nice~. I like seeing Tenma in plays, so I want to see him as the co-lead!

Kumon: I wanna see Tenma-san play a bigger role next, too!

Muku: Me too, I think Tenma-kun's image shines best when he plays roles that suit him!

Kazunari: I understand how much Tenten thinks about everyone in Summer Troupe, but...

Kazunari: I think seeing you play a co-lead role is also good for us, since there's a lot we can learn from your plays.

Tenma: You guys...

Kazunari: .....We all love Tenten's plays.

Kazunari: And as the lead actor, I couldn't be more grateful to have your support as a co-lead.

Tenma: ーー.

Tenma: .....Guess I've got no choice. You and I will lead our next play.

Kumon: Tenma-san's so cool!

Kazunari: You kinda scared me for a second there!

Yuki: You've actually been itching to play the co-lead since the start, haven't you.

Tenma: S-Shut up! How the hell do you know that!?

Yuki: I know you. We've been in each other’s lives for a while now, after all.

Muku: Yuki-kun's being kind....

Kumon: How rare!

Yuki: You know what I meant, he's so simple it's obvious.

Tenma: What was that!?

Kumon: And we're already back to normal!

Muku: That was quick.

my night has been pretty uneventful, which i don't mind since my family has never done anything for new years (aside from visiting family sometimes but all those plans got scrapped cause of omicron :|). after dinner i tried to draw, and then i tried to watch a movie but i got distracted pretty easily and ended up watching youtube - i think i'll save my plans for tomorrow. i dont remember mentioning my timezone but i think it's the same cause i think you're usually active when i'm awake,, if that makes sense? (it's est btw haha) also what are you giffing 👀👀

i guess to get you up to speed i finished finals about a week and a half ago and since then i've done close to nothing aside from painting a relative's dog for their christmas present bc they asked for it. i think it turned out okay but now i've learned that i'm probably never gonna paint or draw for someone if they asked in the future :| for some big-ish pieces i'll try to have a plan and even do a digital mockup to block in colours but i went into this piece kind of w no plan,,, also it was my first time drawing a dog. i ended up putting it off for a few days until i completed the whole thing in a day. my mom sent them a picture (+ we even put it in a frame) and they seemed to like it so im satisfied :))

im typing this rn and there's <10mins left of this year left - i hope you were able to stay awake to midnight :-) and happy new year again!! - 🌱

good morning angel !!! i’m sorry i’m getting to this only now but after the ball dropped i was sooooo tired ndndnd </3 also nothing wrong with a chill night you know i am always in favor for those lol !! i went out to eat my my mom and grandma at this nice italian restaurant and then also just kinda chilled for the ball dropping so it was nice :’) also what movie were you trying to watch, and what plans did you save for today? <3 also JDJJD oh my gosh okay yes we are both est 💖 and !!!!! jfjfjfjf i was giffing taeyong and jaehyun for 127’s seasons greetings for my nct blog <3

and also !!!! bub how were finals? did they go okay 🥺 and i can totally relate not doing much after coming home NDJD that was me fire like the first 3 weeks but now i’ve been working for 3 weeks so :’) and YOU PAINTED A DOG AHHHH i’m sure it takes so long to do that 😭 i can understand not wanting to paint for ppl who ask after that tho jdjdjdjjdd and i agree that it’s nice to have a plan before you do something like painting just to streamline everything together :’) but im glad everything turned out well and you were able to finish it in a day ???? you’re crazy talented bub <3

i DID stay up for the turn of the new year so i’m very proud of my self NDJDJ i didn’t get much sleep tho :/ but we’re gonna make today a good day and i hope you’re able to as well love 🥺
