I mean I don’t think they were mean at all. They just have a shipping preference. We all do 😅

Most people’s shipping preference is to not ship anything at all. I’m one of those few who ship very specific things based on canonical interactions and sometimes vibes

Other people ship based on characters falling in love or matching aesthetics, and while I’m all for characters falling in love, I rarely ship one-sided relationships

No offense to the person in question of course, but I did go on a small ramble in my discord about my opinions on Johnkat because of our dispute:

I do not hate Johnkat, but I definitely don’t ship it and have many reasons why (including the ones above lol). Does this mean I want others to not ship it? No, go ahead and ship to your hearts content!

Does this mean I think Davekat is superior? Yes, but I don’t force that opinion on people, and I won’t go further into my reasons about why because I don’t want to start a shipping war

I have strong feelings about both ships, but if I were to announce those feelings then the people who feel the opposite will feel the urge to fight back

Which is admirable! Defend yo territory, stick it to da man! But I personally don’t wanna argue ships today 😅

Just know that my opinions can’t be swayed. I’ve been in this fandom for 5 years now, I know what I ship
