I put a book/author rec list together before

Not many of them refer specifically to genderqueerness itself. Some are transfemme some are transmasc, some are both or neither. All show facets of the complexities of gender no matter what way you swing it, and reading experiences that sound dissimilar to my own helped expand my understanding of gender as much as those that resonated.

A recent article I found that was also lovely to read is this:

The link in the first post also includes books that are topic of transphobic/exorsexist controversy, namely Gender Queer, a memoir by Maia Kobabe. I have not read it to have any say, but it is being talked about a lot, so I’m sure in addition to bigoted backlash, there are plenty of queer folks who have read and reviewed it.

Arknights BDSM Kinktober 2023 Wrap Up

This has been a wonderful month, and certainly my most productive to date! A huge thank you to @kc5rings and @bassenji for putting this together—your combined ideas made my brain feel like it was supercharged.

I'm a big fan of numbers, so I've created a bit of an awards show/retrospective below:

Kinktober Word Count: 70,882 (I was so sad that I didn't get the sex number)

Average words per day: 2,287

My favorite to write: Day 13 (Sora pretending to be a mannequin)

My proudest: Day 6 (Sora getting chased and then her girlfriends take turns with her)

The one that could've used more time in the oven: Day 9 (Franka/Liskarm mouthplay - I never managed to harness a divine spark of inspiration for this one)

Evidence of my brain fizzling out: Day 30 (Saga rapping naked on stage)

Rarest pair: Day 23 (Coldshot/Valarqvin)

The one that gave me a new kink: Day 29 (Sweaty Sora)

Hmmm, I might just have a Sora kink.

I hope that this becomes a yearly occurrence—I'd love to take part! But for now, it's time for me to take a break and catch up on some video games. I am so tired, but so happy.

BDSMKinktober Final Thoughts

whoops been a minute

First off thanks to @bassenji and @kc5rings for the prompts, I've never participated in one of these but it was a ton of fun, both for making myself write a complete thing everyday and also checking the tag first thing every morning to see everyone else's stuff. Still bummed I burned out less than 2/3s through and never got back on it but oh well, maybe next year!

Everything's gathered in one series here!

Some assorted stats and thoughts;

Total Words: 12,907

Total Fics: 11, with one 8 parter

My Favorite: Day 9 probably, it was a breath of fresh air as the first standalone after the Followers series, and its one of the ones i feel like, idk best communicates what i found hot about the core idea.

Pairings I Want to Write More: Plume/Matoimaru and Earthspirit/Mudrock (Someday I'll write that 'Mudrock knows what skelly is and tries to kill it' meet-cute fic that's been rotating in my brain for a year)

And just cause here's some ideas that went unused cause of burnout and busyness that I still want to give their due someday:

Eunectes gets suited up as a fuckdoll to test Lancet's new "Emergency Patient Transport and Care" hollow padded dome module.

Rangers and Medic (or any lower decks background kinda duo but think I've settled on this one) talk at a play party about the latter's interest/crush on a mysterious latex covered and gas masked domme who totally isn't Kal'tsit incognito.

Perfumer and Bagpipe help Plume train Matoimaru as a pony.

1)  a song from the year you were born: 1993: Shoop -TLC - what a good year to be born. i am blessed. what a great song. 

2)  a song tied to a specific moment in your life: this is gonna sound horrifically pretentious but I was lucky enough to visit Paris last year (my first time overseas by myself) and I was walking across this bridge from this beautiful gallery next to the Tuilleries Gardens and it was sunny but not hot like it had been for days, and I was listening to two dumb bubbly pop songs: Bassenji’s ‘Can’t  Get Enough’ and Mo’s “Kamikaze” and I was looking out at the Seine river and I swear it was as close to a perfect moment as I’ve ever had

16.   something to SCREAM ALONG to: Florence and The Machine’s ‘Lover To Lover’  was my go to home alone shout it out song for ages - or a few by Talking Heads, particularly Burning Down The House 

22. a song you can’t help but dance to - i psych myself up to go out by listening to cheesy pop music like Kesha’s “Your Love Is My Drug” or Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” or A-ha’s “Take On Me” can’t beat the 80s pop for making you wanna dance

25.   a song with a great music video: Hoo BOY. I have seen many but two of my favourites recently have been Miike Snow’s “Genghis Khan” (where is my gay hero/villain spy movie??) and Shura’s “What’s It Gonna Be” (which just plays in my head when i watch Riverdale) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ4uBdmnKds 

32.   a song whose lyrics shocked you once you were old enough to understand them: i used to hear a lot of hp-hop/rap etc from my older sister and had no idea what they meant. Fun fact, I learnt the word orgasm from an OutKast song when i was ten. 

33.   a song you have ZERO patience for: FUCK ED SHEERAN’S THINKING OUT LOUD. I HEARD IT THREE GODDAMN TIMES IN ONE DAY IN EDINBURGH. IT PLAYED IN A SCENE IN A FILM ON THE PLANE LATER AND I YANKED MY HEADPHONES OUT TILL THE SCENE WAS OVER. FUCK THAT SIMPERING, MAWKISH, TERRIBLE SONG. 

35. a great song you discovered thanks to a moviei get a large percentage of my music this way - I had never heard Santigold ft Karen O’s “GO” before Spy and Dope both used it in 2015 and now it’s my walking home at night don’t fuck with me go to song to feel like a badass

36. a great song you discovered thanks to televisionSO MANY. Fever Ray’s “If I Had A Heart” was the creepy-brilliant theme to Vikings, Fink’s “Hush Now” was on maybe the best episode of Teen Wolf there ever was (it was legitimately next level good) 

39.   the most played song in your music library I don’t have an iphone so i don’t know but I am currently obsessed with Daft Punk ft The Weeknd’s ‘Starboy’ and also OneRepublic’s ‘Kids’ is legit having a moment with me currently

Оу.. сегодня я в раздумье и недоумении.. Никак не ожидала, что на вопрос "Не хотите ли попробовать БАССЕНДЖИ?" Услышала : " Мы боимся...". Как оказалось - боятся, что сил не хватит.!. Девушки ...! Я такая грозная и беспощадная на вид???😲😞🤔 ___________________________________ Конечно, BASSENJI - тренировка для подготовленных, но #яжтренер ! ___________________________________ Я всегда скорректирую нагрузку☝️. Те, кто ходит, уже знают, что иногда у нас побольше силового функционала, иногда кардио, мы в паузах всегда советуемся и высказываемся о самочувствии. Тем более, вы знаете все мои тренировки, чрезмерной и непосильной нагрузки нигде не даю.☝️☝️☝️. ___________________________________ Ведь многие ходят на #TABATA, #INTERVAL или #STEP, и нравится, и хорошо себя чувствуете). Bassenji не сложней☝️, она просто драйвовей👌👌👌. ___________________________________ Более того, многие ходят на 2 и 3🤔☝️тренировки подряд!!! И вы говорите - у вас не хватит сил???? ___________________________________ Если все еще пугает потеря 700 ккал, то....могу сделать тренировку, например, "Bassenji-start" и потратим всего 100 ккал😉😉😉😉. ___________________________________ Что еще вас смущает? Отвечу на все вопросы.
