rin's ln chapter is still haunting me by simply being rin's story lol. it's not about sae it's about rin's life and yet rin's life was all about sae. he's weaved in every thread he was the whole picture of it but it's rin's like there's somewhat of a like. spectator angle to it, as is the case with hiori to karasu in the 3rd volume. sae was rin's whole being and yet we don't really know what sae's story actually is bc theres only one mc seat and absolutely no character can cross this line
n the thing that truly fucked me up is that I Know sae's story isn't going to be About Rin. this isn't a two-way thing going on sae was always his own being sort of. rin was there. there's no other way he's his brother so rin was there. but sae experienced [insert everything that rin has seen bc again we don't know what his story actually is] like rin was there but he's not the whole thing... something something sae lived in the real world but rin lived in sae
I guess there's something haunting in it, in the way rin's story is also about sae and sae's story was never about rin. bc the sae in rin's story is almost like a concept we don't really know or understand him except from the stories rin tells us. sae was there, but the individual being with his own story wasn't, while in sae's story. well. idk how to say this but even if sae did see him as his own person, it doesn't really matter, does it? we know following sae's life path was rin's whole thing. that's the person sae would see, right? his brother.
it's just that. they were both devoid of meaning or perhaps ego in their own respective ways in both of their own stories. rin was only repeating part of sae's story in his own story, while sae faced a crisis at some point which id bet means his story would be one of losing one's own meaning, like that descent into emptiness. the only thing that defined them, then, and i say this laughing very grimly, is that they're brothers.

and what the rin extra told us is that rin won't die. he can't die. I actually don't really feel like dissecting this extra bc it feels very light-hearted when you ignore anything else but of course I did anyway lol but just a little something. rin evaded death by pulling that stunt which absolutely nobody taught him how to. rin lived bc of his talent. reading blue lock and his ln chapter, it's probably letting other voices took power over him (things like his teammates' words and sae's dream) that could kill him. it's like. it's like through this lense, night snow sae didnt kill him. he probably knew he couldn't, maybe he really never intended to. regardless rin would continue to live, and even more alive than before! the only person that could kill rin is himself. that's what he did in u-20 match (victim was the rin who attached his sense of self to others).
after the match rin thought sae probably had always known about this: his hunger for destruction driven by his talent wouldn't let him die. rin said 'if I can't chase my dream with you, I have no reason to play soccer' like he was that close to kill himself (quitting soccer) that night and suddenly. Suddenly what sae said to him was what saved him. sae was hurt too there's probably tons of analyses already put out there—he lashed out at rin and let rin's mind do the rest, but not to kill him! he probably gambled what path rin would choose after that: prove that he could stand by himself, fueled by his desire to destroy or just. kill himself (quit soccer). in other words prove that sae was never wrong about him bc he's his brother or let their brotherhood die with him.
anyways that sae gave him the match ticket after night snow is the most siblings thing ever

kunigami the vessel for ego's image of the ideal striker noa n hiori the proxy for his parents' unattained dreams... something something... "kunigami's ego is still burning"... something something... hiori was empty from the start but kunigami built the cyborg on top of his own grave, hiori had to find something for himself but for kunigami it's already there. he just needs a shovel. but probably before that he must believe he has to be the one to dig himself out. why did I draw a connection between hiori n kuni????? anywyas give me access into kunigami's head. are we still not allowed yet?

yeah I think when karasu said he wanted to be better it's like. I'm just thinking about hiori's line he wants to observe karasu's ways, he wants to analyze the analyst. karasu said he's an analyst and hiori did say it felt like he's being seen through when karasu talked to him that day, but karasu was surprised when hiori started talking about his parents' expectations. it's almost like analyzing people from the outside doesn't give you full answers you've gotta get it from them yourself. karasu probably wants to stop this sort of habit of making assumptions about people he deems ordinary because he never gets the full picture. like there's always a reason why they are the way they are, sometimes it's never enough to stop there, with only knowing what they are from the outside
