Osferth x Reader
This is my first time writing for our precious Baby Monk.
I will admit I had a hard time with it so I hope you like it.
This was requested by the wonderful @theexistentialella

It was a simple day in Coccham. It was peaceful for a while which was unusual but not unwelcome. After all the drama that came about it was nice to be in a calm state.
Osferth had been living his best life...well he felt that way. Though there was one thing he had been missing. Somthing everyone else seemed to have....a partner.
Sithric had his wife and child, Uhtred had his fling with Alethflead, and Finan had finally settled down with Edith, but Osferth was alone.
Osferth would never force love. If the lord felt he were worthy of the love of a woman then so be it, but he was a man after all. A man who longed to have someone to come home to at the end of the day.
He was starting to believe he may not ever have that, and hes accepted it for the most part.
Until he saw you.
The most beautiful woman hes ever seen.
You arrived in Coccham looking for a place to call home.
You had been a wanderer, going from village to village trying to find a place to become home.
"Lord, theres a woman here who is asking for a place to stay. Says she means no harm and just wants a place to call home" Finan says as he walked up to Uhtred to inform him of the wanderer.
"Being her over. Let's talk to her and see why shes in need if a home" Uhtred says and Finan nods.
He doesnt miss the look on the monks face
"Baby monk is drooling over her. I think she may have broken him lord" Finan teased
This made poor Osferth blush
Finan had the woman brought over to speak with Uhtred and that's when Osferth learned who she was.
Her name was Y/N. She had the most beautiful Y/E/C eyes hed ever seen.
Everything about her made his heart do flips
She took notice of him as well.
Y/N had explained how she became a wanderer.
How she was going to be forced to marry a man she did not know or love; A man who was three times her age and who was an abusive idiot. She explained how she managed to sneak out and escape before she would be forced to marry such an old and abusive man.
Osferth finally spoke after her story
"Lady, I am Osferth. You have gone through so much and have become even stronger than you were before because of it...would it be alright if I prayed for you. For your healing and for you to find peace and love" he says sweetly with a blush
Her eyes sparkled at this.
"I think that would be okay..thank you Osferth " she says sweetly
Uhtred and Finan exchanged some knowing looks.
Y/N was allowed to stay in Coccham as long as she wanted.
She was very grateful and helped out in any way she could.
Through her time in Coccham she got very close with the baby monk. Feelings began to arise and she soon fell head over heels for him.
He was perfect in every way.
She had late night conversations with him. He always made sure she made it home safely even if she was just a few steps away from her home.
One day she was outside her home working in her garden when Osferth rushed to her
"Osferth are you okay?" She asks
She had never seen him this way.
"Y-yes. I'm great actually " he smiles
She looks a little confused
"I uh...I have somthing to ask you" he says
He was so unsure how to do this..he was awkward. Definitely not like the rest of the group. He didnt have their lady killer ways.
"You can ask me anything Osferth " she smiled reassuringly
"Would you....would you be my lady?" He asks quietly
"Your lady?" She repeats shocked
"Y-yes."
He clears his throat
"Yes. My lady. I would like to court you so that one day I may marry you" he says
Y/N blushed hard but smiled
"Osferth..my dear sweet Osferth. Of course I will marry you. Theres nothing I'd love more in this world than to be your lady" she smiled
Osferth had the biggest smile on his face and he hugged her
"Then as my lady...would it be Alright if I kissed you?" He asked
She laughed but pulled him in for the most breath taking kiss ever!
Baby Monk finally got his own happiness..
He couldn't wait to see the life they would build together.
