AUs/Verses/Etc.

This page will cover the many different universes Joshua operates in, given his multiverse nature. This page is subject to change as I interact with more characters from different universes.

Modern - Stuck in the current age or near-future, working black ops against world-scale terror threats from the UNSC Gettysburg. This is the most flexible version and can be tweaked as necessary.

Historical - Same as above but in different eras of human history. Anything goes, any year is available.

Generic Fantasy - Kidnapped at a young age by a mage cult, he and hundreds of others were converted into nigh-invincible warriors nicknamed “Golems” that the cult used as a private army to keep themselves safe. Despite this, the cult was eventually culled, leaving Joshua and a handful of younger golems as the only survivors to strike out on their own into the world as roaming mercenaries.

Black Cat - A veteran and survivor of an experimental cybernetics program pioneered by various US organizations that “don’t exist.” He works alongside BLACKCAT to fight paranormal activity to protect Earth; in a relationship with @ingenixre‘s Samara Fifer.

League of Legends - A half-breed businessman moonlighting as a crime lord, going around the law in order to work towards vastaya equality, his primary assassin, Seraphim, is also his lover. (In a relationship with @yorunochii‘s Seraphim.)

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure - This verse is time dependent, ranging from Phantom Blood through Stone Ocean with his Stand, Primo Victoria.

Halo Universe 2539-2553 - During the Human-Covenant War

Halo Universe 2551 - Project Freelancer

Halo Universe 2553-2561 - Post-War, pre Slipspace Drive incident.

Halo Universe 2561-2592 - Post-War, no Slipspace Drive Incident, UNSC Service until retirement.

Star Wars:

Clone Trooper - Clone Commander ARC-0077, aka “Deadeye”. Commander of the 117th Combat Engineer Clone Battalion aboard the Venator-class Star Destroyer Independence. His control chip is removed before Order 66 and after the Clone War, and sacrificing a leg so his Jedi General could escape, retires with full honors only to take up arms with the Rebellion after the Battle of Yavin.

Crossover - The Gettysburg was found by Republic scouts and brought back to Coruscant where she was dismantled and used to refit a Venator-class Star Destroyer, the Avenger. With a mixed crew of his old shipmates and Republic staff/clones, Joshua and his new ship take on the Confederacy behind enemy lines. This storyline has three branching paths at the end of the war:

- After the Emperor became aware of what rebellions in Joshua’s home galaxy had done to the Spartan, Commander Cain was transferred to the Imperial Army and promoted to General. Aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer Vengeance he serves the Empire as a specialized anti-insurgency force working closely with the Inquisitorious known infamously among rebel cells as “Cain’s Commandos”.

- Commander Cain and his Jedi General were out of comm range when Order 66 was given, he takes the Avenger and joins the Rebellion, the majority of his crew in tow.

- Fox’s presence in the galactic holonet leads to Palpatine being exposed before Order 66, and with the truth of the Clone War being exposed, he is deposed and the Jedi Order is not destroyed. An uneasy peace takes hold of the galaxy, and the Republic maintains its new level of militarism as a precaution.

Star Trek - Fleet Admiral Cain, commanding Battle Group Phalanx from his flagship the USS Kindred Spirit.

Marvel Universe 1 - The Gettysburg barely survived the transition to Earth, and in the process, only a handful of personnel survived with Joshua. Still barely over the loss of his wife and now having to deal with the loss of his crew, this is a much darker, meaner Arizona than most people know.

Marvel Universe 2 - Hadranial, former archangel, was banished to Earth a few centuries after the Great Flood for falling in love and fathering a child with a human woman. After several thousand years of staying on the sidelines and helping humanity when he can, “Joshua Cain” now works as a professor at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, occasionally helping out on missions.

DCAU - After spending nearly 6 months cloaked and keeping an eye on Earth, the Gettysburg and her crew revealed themselves to the world where one of two outcomes happen:

- Joshua and Crimson join the JLA with UNSC crewmen joining the non-metahuman staff, the press simply refers to him as The Spartan.

- Joshua and his crew join Cadmus, keeping it on the straight and narrow better than Waller could on her own while bringing an interesting perspective of world unity. Joshua takes up command of Task Force X when necessary.

World of Warcraft:

- World of Warcraft 1 - Member of the Alliance with the rest of his crew, married to a draenei woman named Faraaha.

- World of Warcraft 2 - On-and-Off Alliance mercenary, mostly works with his wife, @nightscng‘s Lysirae adventuring and avoiding the larger global conflicts unless absolutely necessary.

- World of Warcraft 3 - Working strictly as a mercenary, regardless of faction, in a relationship with @lichrisen‘s Nylnysa and helping her regain what she can of her life before becoming a Death Knight.

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: - Crossover: UNSC tech is introduced into Star Command to make them more effective while Joshua and his crew get used to not being a military force and more of a law enforcement agency.

- Space Ranger Joshua Cain defected from Star Command after a murderer was let out of jail due to not enough evidence to convict and killed his team in retaliation. He now operates outside the law, hunting evil-doers and ending them before the courts can just put them into another revolving door prison.

⛔ - do they believe in revenge?

To some extent, but it’s not that simple.By default, she would say no. Revenge as a concept is a terrible thing in her eyes. Wrongdoing births wrongdoing, which then breeds worse of its kind, and it becomes a mutual effort to make life worse for the other, which spirals downwards until stopped by especially strong wills and self-reflection or more likely, by a newfound inability to continue. Plus in everyday life, there is no point in it to begin with.But she too experienced a situation that simply cannot be forgiven or left unpunished. It would be clearly hypocritical for her to brand all forms of revenge as bad. There are situations that must be avenged, if not for anything else, then because if tolerated, the other will keep going.Hitting her won’t necessarily result in your rightful punishment. Hurt someone she loves and know you won’t be able to escape her retaliation. Kill someone she cares for, and she will hunt you to the end of the world and make sure you know exactly what pain can mean before you die, so you’ll never be able to commit such an atrocity again.And if you wonder, yes, she knows that she too deserves anything that might happen to her for the tide of murder she had committed. She sees those actions justifiable (the lesser evil of two options: let Noxus ruin even more lives, or try to stop them), but that does not give her immunity from the consequences. Still, if someone tries to take revenge on her, she will not submit to it.

🍹 - alcohol tolerance?

Being vastaya, she is more durable than humans in many ways, including alcohol tolerance. That said, she is also a free spirit who doesn’t have that many or that high walls of restraint for alcohol to bring down.She sits somewhere in the middle of the spectrum, becoming “carelessly free” after a few drinks, but she may become deeply emotional after twice more, especially if she wasn’t in the right mood to begin with. It is also much more easy to remind her of her trauma the more she drinks, and of course, she will be more open about it. Whether she gets a strong panic attack or weeps and talks about it openly is up to the situation.
