1970 Daytona 24 - Debut of the Gulf Porsche 917K by Louis Galanos Via Flickr: The International racing debut (for championship points) for the new Gulf Porsche 917K was at Daytona in 1970. The John Wyer Automotive team entered two cars that finished 1-2 overall. The #1 917 was driven by Jo Siffert and Brian Redman and came in second. The cars were tested at Daytona several months earlier during private testing. Drivers requested a view window above the windshield so they could see cars ahead of them on the 31 degree high banks where closing speeds sometimes exceeded 100 mph. Wikipedia heute offline: Tausende Ärzte können keine Diagnosen stellen

Ein Tag ohne Wikipedia – der Horror für Ärzte! Seit heute Früh ist die Online-Enzyklopädie offline, um ein Zeichen für ein Internet ohne Uploadfilter zu setzen. Tausende Mediziner müssen auf ein altbewährtes Mittel zurückgreifen: ihr Bauchgefühl.

WIEN – „Das könnte alles mögliche sein, Grippe, Ebola, Angina. Da werden wir einfach mal Antibiotika für 14 Tage probieren“, sagt Hausarzt Alfons Schmaninger aus Ottakring selbstbewusst und schickt einen Patienten weg, der auf zwei gebrochenen Knöcheln schreiend aus der Praxis wankt. Doch nicht alle Ärzte können ohne Wikipedia so zielgenaue Diagnosen stellen wie Dr. Schamaninger.

Ein rätselhafter Fall beschäftigt Dr. Alma Schrumpf, HNO-Ärztin in Hütteldorf. „Ein Kind hat da drinnen irgendwas“, sagt sie und zeigt auf den Rachen des Kindes. „Genau da bei den komischen Hautdingern, die über der Zunge hängen, keine Ahnung, wie die heißen“, sagt sie und lacht. Auf Wikipedia nachschauen ist heute keine Option. Hilflos blättert sie in einer alten Autorevue, die sie in ihrem Wartezimmer gefunden hat. „Vielleicht stimmt etwas nicht mit dem Vergaser?“

Nur im Unfallkrankenhaus Meidling herrscht Normalbetrieb, wie Chefarzt Dr. Alexander Heindl betont: „Wir sind nicht von Wikipedia abhängig, da wir schon seit Jahren erfolgreich auf Diagnosen verzichten. Wir sägen einfach alles ab, was wehtut.“

Zwei-Klassen-Medizin

Die chaotischen Zustände verdeutlichen einmal mehr die vorherrschende Zwei-Klassen-Medizin. Denn während staatliche Spitäler stillstehen, stellen Privatkrankenhäuser ihrem Personal alte Scrubs-DVDs zur Verfügung, um wenigstens rudimentäre Behandlungen vornehmen zu können.

1972. "For his first cover photo for autorevue, Lauda was invited to the studio of our photographer Bernd Schilling, who had carefully selected a suitable wallpaper."

This was Niki Lauda's first, or at least one of the first, official promo shoots at the beginning of his racing career. Herbert Völker, a journalist and long-term friend of Lauda's who later on helped write both of Niki's biographies, was also a writer for Autorevue in '72. He helped set Niki up with the magazine, which ran front page spread of Lauda in his March gear, giving the young racer his first taste of real press in Austria.

Der 20-jährige sympathische Vorarlberger Marco Schöbel sicherte sich den Titel beim Superfinale am 12.September im Rahmen der Speedparty im Magna Racino.

Mit diesem Gewinn verpflichtet sich Marco bei mindestens drei heimischen Rallyes im gewonnenen Rennboliden (Fiesta 1,6 Ti-VCT, 134 PS, mit Rallyefahrwerk, Käfig und 4 Punkt-Gurten) an den Start zu gehen.
