Sara putting herself, Felice, and Simon First

I love this part where Sara put herself first over August, despite her feelings for him. Tbh I didn't enjoy August and Sara, but it brought out a caring side from August. Sara was the one who understood him well and saw the good in him, despite what he did to Simon. I despised that Sara did this because Simon is her brother she's very close to, but at the same time I love how her character was written. She wasn't the token neurodivergent character unlike what is shown in entertainment, or an autistic "savant". Rather, she's human, and a flawed one indeed. As a neurodivergent person myself, I loved that part because all of us are flawed in many ways and we did really shitty stuff in the past. But Sara's character development was what I liked the most about her.

Despite her feelings for August, Sara noticed in season 3 that August was only about himself when they were in a relationship. When August tried to patch up things with her, he only explained how he felt when he was in a relationship, but no signs of consideration for her feelings. It was all about him and little about her. Sara knew that this wouldn't be a healthy relationship, and her relationships with Felice and Simon broke when she came out about what she did to protect August, and August showed no signs of consideration for this. Hence she decided to amicably end things, because she knows that her relationships with Felice and Simon are way healthier than what she shared with August. And relationships and feelings, there are broader perspectives to it than just being a lover. And she feels more fulfilled with Felice and Simon than with August

If Sara chose to stay with August, then it will take her a turn for the worse. She would have no familial or peer support, and on top of that August would depend on her for comfort while the same won't be reciprocated. Sara would not be happy in the long run. Hence I appreciate Sara for taking this step :)

YR S2 had me shipping Sara and August weiiirrddddd. Considering everything August has pulled, they had their work cut out trying to get the audience to not only see August’s humanity, but to see the possibility of his genuine softness and care for others. And to get us to actually root for him. But yeah, in his moments with Sara he showed what he could be like if he had love and softness in his life. Man. Yeah. Oops I ship Sara and August and I’m not sorry. Okay I’m a little sorry.

I'm on episode 2x4 of Young Royals and I am surprised that August actually likes Sara. I thought they will make him just use her for fun.

So now I have a theory, a feeling that is Sara rejects him, that would be his last straw to end his (potential, possible) redemption ark.

And he will maybe try to sabotage Wilhelm to become crown prince. Because well, there will be no one holding him back.

Because he seemed hesitant when he heard how much they will invade his life.

So, me from few minutes from now, what do I think?

Obsessed with Simon, Sara, Wilhelm and Felice driving away from a shutdown Hillerska, free from a system which was never going to accept them, happy and together.

Obsessed with how there’s still a chance Hillerska could reopen because that system is next to impossible to take down and the upper-class rarely face real consequences for their actions.

Obsessed with August’s face when he saw Wilhelm walking away, realising that he was trapped. Wilhelm said August was the heir they needed but he couldn’t have been more wrong - that man has bucket loads of trauma, an eating disorder he isn’t even close to ready to confront and no support system around him, he’s not gonna do much better with the role of Crown Prince than Wilhelm did.

Obsessed with Nils coming out to his friends and them easily accepting him, because their issue with Simon really was the fact that he was poor and a socialist, and Nils both still believes in the system he’s in and his queerness doesn’t destabilise the system the same way Wilhelm’s does.

Obsessed with Stella ending up with Fredrika, because although Rosh might have been fun to hang out with for a night Stella also still believes in and upholds the system she belongs to and Rosh was never going to fit in that system or uphold the traditional feminine values needed to survive in it.

Obsessed with how the monarchy is portrayed as unchangeable and impossible to modernise because it’s built on such outdated ideals.

Obsessed with the mix of both happy and open-ended endings.

Let me tell you how - as clumsy and awkward as it was - Wille's first conversation with Simon went like it was specifically designed to make Simon fall for him. Like straight to the heart and deadly. Non-survivable event.

Simon is eating alone, no-one's sitting next to him to his right, to his left and in front of him, like people are at best not acknowledging him and at worst actively avoiding him, which they probably are. Wille comes in, sees him and purposefully seeks him out. He wants to sit close to him and talk to him. This is new to Simon and not at all something he'd have expected from "Ers Majestät".

W: "[you don't belong with Forest Ridge] but you're eating with us?" S: "We non-residents have to eat somewhere". Oh, you know Simon was just waiting to sink his teeth into Wille (metaphorically ...for now) and he savors Wille's faux-pas. You can just tell how much he enjoys delivering that comeback.

Wille's counterattack? Deadly. He introduces himself. He's like "I haven't introduced myself, I'm Wilhelm." He's humble, he doesn't assume people know him just because he's a member of the royal family and had a whole welcome party organized just for him like, yesterday. He's just a newcomer and his name is Wilhelm.

"I liked what you said in there, Simon." Simon had the whole class against him right then, teacher included, but Wille appreciates his opinion, he likes that Simon spoke up, even and especially against him. Bonus point, he adds Simon's name at the end of the compliment, because it matters. See, we know Wille was being sincere but Simon regains his footing here because this could potentially sound like a dig, and he's prepared for those so he remarks along the lines of "Oh yeah? So why didn't you say anything?", which brings us to:

"I'm not allowed to talk politics." And it's the way Wille says this, hesitantly, like he's painfully aware of the hypocrisy and he's ashamed of it. It rearranges Simon's view of him because it seems like Wille knows he's part of a bullshit establishment and he's not blissfully partaking of its privileges with no awareness or care. Wille is very much not like Simon had imagined he would be.

And then! Wille goes to leave and he almost drops his fork. Final dart, straight to the heart, Simon's fate is sealed: this guy's goofy.

And that, my friends, is how you go from Simon's mortal enemy to Simon's crush in the span of less than 2 minutes.
