Just a heads up if anyone doesn't already have it. If you do get it, don't bother with the texture pack or the Creation Club stuff. IMO it's much better modded, but there is a lot to learn. If you've never played it, it's a good idea to play it on vanilla at least once - unless you have a disability or something like me. There's a VR version, but I don't know much about it. Recommended mods if you are getting them? Heather, Darlene are the best companions. Atomic Radio and Tales from the Commonwealth has some good quests, and I love the Audrey NPC. Mods that skip the far harbor Dima's memory quest are a good idea, as are ones for the starcores of Nuka World. As you get more advanced, Liga of my companions is worth checking out. F4SE is pretty useful; and there are memory extenders etc. I really wish bethesda had fixed some of the damned bugs and improved base game stability. Make a lot of saves and back them up somewhere. Sometimes you lose them. This is amazingly enraging.

But when everything works, this game can be glorious.

Tales from the Commonwealth is so much fun. And Audrey is a great companion. She even has a conversation with Piper if you switch them out.

One of the best mods out there for Fallout 4.

Going to play Fallout 4 again with mods. What mods do you like to use?

Ooh! I have a few old favourites that I can reccommend for sure!

All-in-one Settlement Solution/AIO-SS: this one is great if you're the type who just wants to build and not worry about your Settler's needs

it also pairs really nicely with Sim Settlements 2, if you prefer to let your settlers do all the work most of the time. It's highly configurable if you have the Mod Configuration Menu, and it also has its own storyline of quests with fully voiced NPCs and tbh it blends into the world really well!

Speaking of quests and NPCs, you might also want to check out Atomic Radio and Tales From The Commonwealth, which also adds some quests and new companions (Audrey, R4-04, and Birdie who I still haven't met yet) and includes a custom radio station!

And if you get tired of listening to Atomic Radio, there's the Old World Radio mods, which add even more radio stations, some featuring real world audio dramas and some featuring music with their own hosts.

If you want to add some variety to enemy spawns and such, I highly reccomend:

Capital Wasteland Robot Pack

Raider Overhaul + Restored Content

Super Mutant Redux + Institute Centaurs + Patch

also, unrelated, but I think Vault Outfits Redux and Proto Vault Suit pair really nicely together! (though you may want the Wetness patch so the gold trim doesn't turn black when it rains lol)

idk what else to suggest really, without anything more specific to go on! But there are some of my favs :)

Audrey.

I've patched her appearance, so she still complains about being hideous whilst being purdy as a peek-chur.

Currently at Boston Airport. Using ...

I replaced the ghouls - most of which by synths, which I actually need to farm for components, but some are other things, and this time the whole place was packed with The Pack, which I am currently technically Overboss of as I haven't gotten around to doing the wipe-them-out quest.

So they are neutral towards me, which is a good thing as they are actually a lot tougher than the ghouls they replaced.
