Rainy Day Story
Hello!  I checked out a Gulliver’s Travels AU blog ( @ask-thetravellerandgiant ), and enjoyed it very much.  I like their characters and the ongoing story.  And now, I’d like to try to contribute to it.  In this contribution, Danny (a great-great-great-great grandson of Lemuel Gulliver), and Grilden (a young Brobdingnagian man who Danny met and became friends with, and eventually romantic partners), try to stave off cabin fever brought on by a rainy day.  Danny offers to read a story to Grilden, settling on Alice in Wonderland.  Hopefully I can do these two justice.
“Okay Danny, what story did you pick out?”  Grilden asked, leaning against the kitchen door frame as the microwave hummed behind him.  He had returned from grocery shopping nearly twenty minutes ago, and was now making popcorn for himself and his small boyfriend.
Danny sat perched on the arm of the couch, watching the fire dance in the fireplace.  “Hm? Oh!”  He snapped to attention and held up a book that had been sitting next to him.  “I picked out Alice in Wonderland.  I thought maybe you’d like it.  It’s something light and fun.”
Grilden nodded in approval.  “Okay, that sounds good, hun.  Just gotta wait for the popcorn and we’ll be set.”  He no sooner than spoke, when the popcorn began to pop, the noise sounding like gunshots to little Danny.  “Won’t be long now.”
Eventually, the popcorn was done, the smell of butter filling the kitchen and wafting into the living room.  The scent grew stronger when Grilden appeared with a big metal bowl filled with the puffy white treat, and took a seat on the couch.  He set the bowl down on the floor, and maneuvered himself so he was lying on his back.  “Alright hun, I’m gonna pick you up and put you on my chest.  Okay?” he asked Danny.
“Okay, I’m ready.  I trust you,” Danny replied.  He always got a bit nervous when his boyfriend had to lift him, but the fact that Gril told him just what he was going to do, and asked if it was okay, meant a lot to Danny.  He knew he could trust his giant.
Gril carefully lifted his tiny passenger from the couch arm and gently deposited him on his chest.  “Alright, story time,” he muttered happily as he grabbed a few popcorn pieces, dropping a few next to Danny and the rest in his mouth.  “What we readin’?”  He asked, his mouth half-full.
Danny smiled at Gril and shook his head.  “You mean, ‘What are you reading to me, Danny?  The handsomest, most wonderful boyfriend in the world?’”
Gril nodded.  “That’s exactly what I meant.”
“Well, ya big goof, as I said, I’m reading Alice in Wonderland,” Danny smirked.  “So, are you ready?”  With a nod from Grilden, Danny cracked the book open and began, “ ‘ Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank...’”.

“So, it’s been raining...
... and Gril and I have been stuck inside for the past few days.  We’ve kinda been getting a little cabin fever.  Gril's getting groceries, and I’m looking through my collection of books, trying to find something to maybe read to him when he gets back, maybe help stave off cabin fever.  Okay, let’s see... I have Jungle Book, Peter Pan, uh... Mary Poppins... Gulliver’s Travels.  Yeah right.  Oh, I forgot I had Alice in Wonderland!  Maybe he’d like that, something light and fun! Alright, book chosen, the fireplace is still crackling, cozy blanket on the couch, I think we’re mostly ready here.  Just gotta wait til Gril gets back and it’s storytime!”

Happy Birthday to Lewis, Part III!
So sorry this is so delayed, but I wanted to keep you all in suspense.  Did it work?  Actually, we’ve been so busy with planting and all our fieldwork that I never got a chance to finish this.  But, finally, we got a couple days off to cool our heels, so here’s Part 3 of the birthday story!
With the postcard being removed, Gautier was able to shake himself out of his thoughts.  “Huh?  O-oh yeah, I, uh, I can help.  What do you need me to do?”
“Well, I have this card that you can read out loud while I get the gift ready.  Here’s your lines,” Danny smiled as he pulled a plain card out of his backpack, opening it and standing it next to the Lilliputian.
Gautier’s eyes scanned the words written in the card and smiled, before turning his attention to Lewis and clearing his throat.  “Lewis Gulliver,” he started, “today is a grand occasion, celebrating the day that the world became blessed with your presence.  In your time on this earth, you have seen and done such amazing things, and frankly, we could not be more proud.  It is this day that we wish to give you recognition that you deserve.”  The prince stopped and turned to Danny.  “That’s your cue.  Or at least, that’s what you wrote in here.”
“Lewis, I want to give you this.  It’s from Gautier and I, actually.  I managed to talk to him about it, and there was some sentiment that he wished to share with you.”  He held his hand out toward his cousin, displaying a small wooden box, roughly seven inches square and two inches deep, with a flawlessly-stained cover.
His eyes moving between his boyfriend and his cousin, Lewis cautiously removed the lid, and quietly gasped when he saw the box’s cargo.  Inside was a badge, four inches long without its ribbon, shaped like a shield with a heart engraved on top.  Carefully removing it from its box, he inspected it closer.  The medal was meticulously carved from wood and sealed with clearcoat.  At its top was a piece of blue ribbon with a pin on the back.  He looked back up at the other two, smiling.  “A medal?  For what?”
Gautier cleared his throat again.  “That’s in here, my Quin.  It says, ‘This medal of valor was painstakingly crafted to honor a hero of two nations.  As a sign of gratitude for sacrifices made, and countless hours spent.  This medal belongs to a kind and brave soul, truly a hero for the ages.’”  Gautier stood a bit straighter.  “And so, by the power vested in me, as Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Lilliput, I hereby award the first Badge of Valor to the biggest, bravest, and kindest heart in the kingdom, none other than Lewis Gulliver.”  Gautier turned to Danny.  “Could I get some assistance?”
Danny nodded, a proud smile on his face as he stepped forward and carefully pinned the badge on to Lewis’ shirt, before pulling him into a hug.  “Proud of you, kiddo,” he whispered to his cousin.  He reluctantly ended the hug to take a couple steps back and snap into a crisp salute, the proud smile never leaving his face.

Several hours later, the two cousins were quietly conversing.  Lewis had discreetly returned Gautier to the basement after his boyfriend and his cousin had said their farewells, and was now discussing sleeping arrangements with Danny.
“Nah, don’t worry about me.  I’ll just make camp here on the couch, and I’ll head out in the morning.  Ship leaves at 10, so we’ll be able to chat a little bit,” Danny said as he set his things down on the floor, before sitting on the large plush sofa.
Lewis’ eyebrow raised a bit in concern.  “Are you sure?  I have a spare bedroom that you can use, you don’t need to be on the couch.”
Danny waved dismissively.  “Yeah, I’m positive.  Slept on a lot worse things than a couch.  Besides, I don’t want to be a bother and take up a whole room.  Just a small area’ll suit me to the ground.”
“You know, you’re not in Brobdingnag, Danny,” Lewis chuckled, shaking his head.  “You can use a whole room if you want.”
“Oh, I know,” Danny shrugged.  “But... old habits die hard, ya know?”
Lewis smiled and nodded.  “Yeah, I know.  I suppose, if you’re comfortable, I can’t stop you.”  He watched Danny work on getting settled, before turning off one of the lamps in the room.  “I’ll leave the other one on low, in case you have to get up in the night.”
“Sounds like a plan,” Danny murmured from under the ball cap he’d pulled down over his eyes.  He was lying on his back with his fingers interlocked over his stomach, his feet resting atop the far armrest.
“Goodnight, Danny.  Pleasant dreams,” Lewis bade to his cousin as he began to make his way toward his own bed, when a thought crossed his mind and he stopped.  He walked back to Danny’s side and gently raised the bill of the cap with one finger as he smirked.  “ ‘The biggest heart in Lilliput’?” he asked when Danny peeked at him with one eye.
Danny’s expression immediately stretched into a grin that was equal parts sleepy, goofy, innocent, and smug.  It was a unique Danny expression.  “You liked that, did ya?” He chuckled for a moment.  “I know that seems like me, but I actually had nothing to do with that phrase.  It was Gril’s idea, to be honest.  He thought it’d be kinda funny, and I just couldn’t say no to the big lug.”
“Okay, it was Gril’s idea,” Lewis said with a slightly-skeptical tone in his voice as he moved the cap back to its original place.  “That’s your story and you’re sticking to it, huh?”
“Better believe it, kiddo,” Danny murmured.
Shaking his head and chuckling quietly, Lewis once more made his way toward his bedroom.  “Goodnight, Danny.  For real this time.”
“ ‘Night, hero,” was Danny’s quiet reply.
The house was quiet as Lewis padded off to bed, and the two Gulliver cousins eventually drifted off to their respective dreams.

Happy birthday to Lewis!
Well, I think my cousin Lewis failed to mention this, but today (June 5th) is his birthday! So, in order to celebrate, there was a story done up (by the mod of this blog) about the celebration, starring Lewis, Gautier, and myself.  Without further ado, let’s get right into Part 1!  Happy birthday to my favorite cousin over at @ask-theprinceandhisgiant!
The rhythmic knocking at the door derailed Lewis’ train of thought, and he turned away from Gautier.  “I wasn’t expecting company,” he mused.  He turned back to his tiny boyfriend.  “Were you?” Lewis teased.
Gautier shook his head.  “No, I wasn’t.  Do you think it could be important?”
“Perhaps,” Lewis said thoughtfully, as more knocking came from the door, more insistent this time.  “Alright, I’m going to see who it is, and hopefully send them on their way,” he told the Prince as he stood, before carefully carrying Gautier to a table where a potted plant rested.  “Stay there, out of sight.  Hopefully, it’s just someone that’s asking for directions or something.”  The Prince nodded his understanding, and Lewis strode toward the door, as the doorbell began ringing, Ding-dong.  Ding-dong.  Ding-ding-ding-ding-dingdingdingding.  He rested his hand on the knob and called out, “Who is it?”
The doorbell quickly fell silent, and a male voice responded, “I have a special delivery for… ‘Luis Gal Liver’.”
“I’m sorry, there’s no one here by that name.”  Luis Gal Liver?  Lewis mouthed silently.
“Is this address 287 Kingsbury Lane?”
     “Yes, it is.”
“Then, this is the right address.”
Lewis thought for a few moments.  He could open the door just a crack, and check out the person on the other side.  If they turned out to be sketchy… well, he had the home advantage, as well as experience with fighting multiple assailants.  The memory from Lilliput gave Lewis more confidence, and he cracked the door open to peek out at his visitor.  Who he saw was not someone he expected.
The visitor was tall, over six feet easily.  He was young, possibly around his mid-twenties, with a dark, neatly-trimmed moustache and goatee framing a silly, toothy grin.  His hair was long and dark, tied in a ponytail with a purple hair tie.  His eyes were hidden behind mirrored sunglasses, but Lewis could see traces of smile lines peeking around the edges.  He wore a red button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled, under a black vest.  In his left hand was a clear, round plastic container with a white-frosted cake declaring ‘Happy Birthday Lewis!’ in swirling blue letters.  Over his left shoulder was a backpack, and his right shoulder held a large poster tube, with a black-and-red strap.
“Hey cousin!  What kept ya?”  The visitor greeted cheerfully.
“Danny!”  Lewis yelled happily before grabbing him in a hug.  He hadn’t seen his cousin Danny in years.  The last time they had met was a family reunion, and his cousin wasn’t the tall strapping individual before him now.  Danny had been rather short in his younger years.  He must’ve finally hit his growth spurt.
The taller Gulliver cousin smoothly moved the cake out of the way and held it aloft as Lewis hugged him.  Don’t want to drop that, he thought.
As Lewis continued to hug, a memory jumped into his head.  It was something that the pair had come up with years ago, just a silly little thing to say to each other.  He pulled back from the hug, and said, “I like your bowtie.”
“Thanks, stole it from the Queen,” Danny responded with no hesitation.
Lewis’ smile grew and he let out a laugh.  “Oh, it’s good to see you again, Danny!  It’s been too long.  Please, come in!”  He led his cousin inside and closed the door.  “So, what brings you around here?”
Danny chuckled, “Well, I had the date marked in my calendar that it was my favorite cousin’s birthday.  And since I haven’t come around to celebrate for quite some time, I figured I’d better do that.  Uh, is there somewhere I can set this cake down?”
“Oh, I’ll take it.”  Lewis relieved his cousin of the cake, when a look of sudden realization flashed across his face.  “I forgot about Gautier!  I told him to hide because I didn’t know you were at the door!  Gautier, hun?”  Lewis called out to the room.  “I’m going to introduce you to Cousin Danny shortly, just be patient!”  He hurried into the nearby dining room and placed the container on the table, before swiftly returning and making his way toward a table at the edge of the room, where a flower pot stood.
Danny watched, curious, as his cousin held his hand out on the table, quietly conversing with someone, or something, that had been tucked away behind the pot.  He heard Lewis apologize a couple times, and say something that he couldn’t quite make out.
After a few minutes, Lewis raised his hand to about chest-height, turned and carefully walked toward his cousin.  In his palm stood a young dark-haired man, six inches tall if he was one, wearing a white jacket and pants, with polished black boots.  He stood tall and confident, showing no signs of being afraid of Danny, but rather regarding him with a polite smile.  Lewis stopped and said, “Danny, this is Prince Gautier, my boyfriend.”
The tiny person, the Prince, raised a hand and gave a small wave.  “Hello Daniel.”
When the word ‘Prince’ registered in Danny’s mind, he dropped to a respectful genuflect.  “It’s an honor to meet you, Your Highness.”  A few beats of silence followed, before he heard… chuckling?  He raised his eyes to see Gautier peering over the edge of Lewis’ hand.
“What are you doing down there, Danny?  Did you maybe drop something?” Gautier asked mirthfully.
“... I’m bowing.  Your Highness.  I think it’s what a person does when they meet royalty.  I don’t know, though.  Never met royalty before.”  A beat.  “How am I doing?”
“You’re doing rather well, for your first time,” the Prince responded, chuckling a bit.  “I’ll have to give you proper lessons, but that’s for another time.  When it’s just us, in an informal setting like this, you may act as though I’m a normal person.  No need for titles and whatnot.  Does that sound alright?”
Danny’s eyes flicked momentarily, as he thought.  “Yeah, that sounds fine,” he agreed.  He remained genuflecting until the Prince cleared his throat.
“You can stand up now,” Gautier prompted.
Scrambling to his feet, Danny brushed off the knees of his pants and gave his shirt a straightening tug.  “Yeah, sorry.  Just wanted to make a good impression.”
Gautier waved it off.  “Well, you’ve made an impression,” he said with a smile.  “I’ve met people who have made much worse impressions than you, Danny.  Lewis actually knew a few of them, but that’s neither here nor there,” he said offhandedly, as a sheepish expression crossed Lewis’ face.  “A pleasure to meet you, Danny.”  He stuck out his hand to shake.
Lewis looked on as his cousin returned the gesture with his index finger, and he smiled.  They seemed to be getting along so far.  He soon stepped in.  “Well, now that introductions have been taken care of, who would like a slice of the cake that Danny brought?”
“I wouldn’t object to a piece,” Gautier agreed.  “What kind is it?”
Danny smiled, “Oh, it’s just red velvet cake.  Lewis’ favorite, if I remember correctly.”  The trio headed toward the dining room, as Danny adjusted his backpack and poster tube.  “I have a couple things from Brobdingnag to show you two, but we’ll take care of that when the cake is sorted.”
Stay tuned for more parts, and remember to Boldly Go!

G:  “You... have feelings for... me?”
D:  “Mm-hm.”
G:  “Are you sure?  I mean, I’m touched, really, but why me?”
D:  “Well, you took me in when we met, which you didn’t need to do.  You’ve given me a safe place to live, good food to eat, you’re fun to talk with, you’re supportive and very sweet *mumble* and pretty cute...”
G:  “What was that last one?”
D:  “I... said you’re... cute.”
G:  “You really think so?”
D:  “Mm-hm...”
G:  “And I suppose you had that nightmare because you were scared of my reaction?”
D:  *sniff* “Yeah, basically, pretty much.”
G:  “...”
D:  “... Gril? What are you thinking?  Did I cross some kind of line?  I didn’t mean to, really, I’m so sorr-”
G:  “Danny.  Relax.  Breathe for me, please.  In through the nose, out through the mouth.  Do that a few times for me, please.”
D, G:  *slow, deep breaths*
G:  “Feel better?  Good, now I’m gonna lay on my back and carefully lift you on to my chest.  I want you to listen to something.”  *Sounds of Grilden changing his position*  “Okay, I’m going to pick you up now.”
D:  “Okay, I trust you.”
G:  ... “There you go.  Now, please lay down on my chest and tell me what you hear.”
D:  “I hear your heartbeat.”
G:  “Okay.  And that sound is the heartbeat of someone who cares very deeply for you.  It beats everyday for you.  You, Danny Gulliver, give my heart a reason to beat.”
D:  “... Really?”
G:  “I have thought over and over again, of a way to tell you that you bring light to my days.  You’re the reason I wake up smiling in the morning.  You’re sweet and thoughtful.  Not to mention smart as a whip, and cute as a button.  And, since we’re baring our hearts to one another, I’ve developed feelings for you as well, in case it wasn’t obvious.”
D:  “I-I... W...?  Oh gosh.”
G:  *chuckle* “Don’t faint again, cutie.”
D:  “I won’t f-faint!”
G:  “Hey hey, hun, settle down.  I was only teasing you a bit.  You’re cute when you get flustered, ya know?”
D:  *mumble* “Not cute...”
G:  “Oh, what was that?  You wanted to be tickled?”
D:  “What?!  *Laughing, gasping*  G-gril, you j-j-herherk!  Ah no, I’m ticklish there!”  *Laughing continues for several more moments, finally subsides*
G:  “There, cutie.  You in better spirits now?”
D:  *Still breathing rather hard*  “Yeah, yeah I’m good.”
G:  *chuckle*  “I’m glad.  But maybe we should get some sleep, huh?  Sound good?”
D:  “Sounds great.  But, um... Gril?  Do you mind... if I sleep... here?  On your chest?”
G:  “I don’t see a problem, with it.  Here, you lay down.  There, now my hand will be over you like a blanket... Ahh, nice and comfy.  You good?”
D:  “I’m great.  Thanks, Gril.”
G:  “No sweat. *Yawn*  Goodnight, hun.  Sleep tight...”
D:  “You too, Gril.”  ... *whisper* “Love you.”
G:  “... Love you... too...” *quiet snore*
D:  *whisper*  My heart beats for you too...”

D: “Hey, everyone, Danny Gulliver and Grilden here-”
G: “Hi”
D: “-and I heard from my cousin Lewis earlier and there’s something that he suggested the four of us do.”
G: “Like?”
D: “Well, he thought it’d be nifty if we kinda got together and shared what it’s like from our perspectives.  You and him would talk about what it’s like to be ‘giants’ compared to Gautier and I, while we would share what being smaller is like.”
G: “Alright, that sounds simple enough.  I could do something like that.”
D: “Great, so I’ll just send this over to him and-”
G: “Wait, a few moments ago, did you say... nifty?”
D: “Yeah, why?”
G: *snicker* “Oh, no reason... grandpa” *laughter*
D: “Oh hush, you whippersnapper!  Now, so Lewis gets this, send to ‘ @ask-theprinceandhisgiant , and off it goes!”

Happy birthday to Lewis, Pt II!
I posted the first part of the story where Lewis, Gautier, and I met up for Lewis’ birthday, and decided to ease a bit of your suspense.  In this part of the story, we chat and have cake (red velvet, yum!), and I bring a souvenir from Brobdingnag.  Here is Part 2 for your enjoyment!
Lewis turned to his cousin, “Sounds alright to me.  How big of a piece of cake do you want?”  He asked as he carefully placed his hand on the table to let Gautier step off, before going to collect plates and silverware.  “Gautier, you can have some of mine, if that’s alright?”
“Certainly, Lewis,” the Prince responded.  “But what about cutlery?”
“Oh, I have a few small forks here in the drawer for you.  How big of a piece did you want, Danny?”
Danny simply shrugged as he hung his backpack and poster tube on the back of his chair.  “Dealer’s choice, I’m not picky.”
Lewis returned and quickly went to work cutting cake and doling it out.  “...And there’s mine and Gautier’s piece,” he muttered as he slid the second piece of cake on to the plate.  “Thank you for bringing this, it’s been a while since I’ve had red velvet.  I can’t believe you actually remembered, though.”
“You think I’d forget what kind of cake my favorite cousin likes?  You wound me,” Danny joked, falsely offended, before smiling again as he took his first bite of the cake.  “Mm, this is good!  That bakery did an excellent job!  I’ll have to take some back to Brobdingnag with me.  Think they’d make a cake big enough for Grilden?”  He mused, imagining a red velvet cake the size of a tractor tire.
Lewis chuckled.  “Maybe, you never know.  How are you liking the cake, hun?”  He turned to look down at Gautier, who was in the middle of taking another miniature forkful of cake.
“Quite delicious, I must say.  Very moist and rich,” Gautier nodded in approval.
Danny turned to Gautier as well.  “You could do an endorsement for the bakery,” he jokingly suggested.  “Wouldn’t that be something?  ‘The Prince of Lilliput says our cakes are ‘Quite delicious!’,” he chuckled at the thought.
Gautier paused in thought for a moment.  “Perhaps someday, I will do just that, Danny,” he returned the giant’s smile.  “Once Lilliput and Blefuscu are recognized as sovereign nations, then I will personally appear at the bakery and give them a royal endorsement.”
The trio laughed, and continued to chat, even after the cake was put away.  They regaled each other with tales of happenings in their lives, catching the others up to speed.  From Lewis and his discovery of Lilliput (a story which had Danny fuming over the idea of “worthless ship’s rats” attacking his cousin), and various adventures between Lewis and Gautier, to Danny’s seafaring voyage and his subsequent escapades with Grilden in Brobdingnag.
At one point, Danny asked if he might be able to see the Lilliputian settlement in Lewis’ basement.  Gautier declined, stating that the appearance of another giant might cause his father to have a heart attack. “The last thing I need is more stress and paperwork,” Gautier groaned.  “With my duties, and then taking care of his work as well, I would go prematurely gray from it all.  Plus, I’d never have time to see my Quin, which is not something I wish to think about,” he stated as he sidled close to Lewis, who in turn moved to cuddle him appreciatively.
The mood was punctuated by a soft “Aww, so cute!” and the sound of a camera shutter.  The pair looked up to see Danny with his phone out, smiling.  “You two are adorable,” he cooed.
“You realize you can’t show that to anyone except Grilden, right?”  Lewis asked flatly.
Stashing the phone back in his pocket, Danny waved dismissively.  “Wouldn’t dream of showing it to anyone else.  You both have my word as a Gulliver,” he pledged as he held up his right hand solemnly.
Lewis and Gautier looked at each other for a moment, a wordless conversation happening between them, before Gautier nodded.  “Very well, we accept your oath,” he declared.
“Thank you,” Danny respectfully nodded in return.  “Now, I do believe that I said I had something for you two.”  He turned and retrieved his poster tube from the back of his chair, unscrewing the top and pulling out something rolled up.  “It’s not much, just a postcard.  Tried to get it small as I could so it was manageable,” he explained as he unrolled the item, laying it flat on the table.  The postcard, proudly proclaiming ‘Welcome to Lorbrulgrud!’ in swirling gold letters, showed a picture of what might have been the Capital Building on a bright sunny day.  “Um, I think it said somewhere in Grandpa Lemuel’s writing, but this is the capital city of Brobdingnag,” he explained to the other two as they marvelled at the large card spread out before them.  It was easily the size of an unfolded road map, and took up most of the table.
Lewis stared at it as he held Gautier in his hand so the Prince could see the entire card as well.  “Wow, this is great!  Thank you for bringing this!  I think I’ll hang it up in my room,” he turned to his cousin, “if that’s alright?”
“Well, it’s yours, Lewis.  Do what you want with it,” Danny responded patiently.
“Maybe I will,” Lewis responded childishly and playfully stuck out his tongue.  “What do you think, hun…” he trailed off as he turned to look down at Gautier, who had been rather quiet the entire time.
The Lilliputian was standing in Lewis’ palm, hugging his arms close to his body.  He was giving the postcard a thousand-yard stare, almost like he was looking through it, and his face was nearly as pale as his jacket.
     “Gautier, hun?  Are you alright?”
Danny piped up, concerned.  “What’s going on?  Something wrong?”
The two cousins nearly missed what Gautier said.  “If that’s…  If that’s a postcard,” he muttered.  “They… they must be huge…” he trailed off, attempting to wrap his head around the scale of the Brobdingnagians and only making his head spin.
Danny looked over at Lewis with a concerned expression and mouthed, “Did I break him?”
Lewis responded with an uncertain look that said, “Maybe?”  He gently nudged Gautier with his thumb.  “Hun?  We can put the postcard away if it bothers you.”
“Yeah, no sweat,” Danny agreed, already beginning to roll the card up again.  “Besides, I have Lewis’ birthday present, and I need your help with it.  Would you be able to assist me?”
*          *          *          *          *          *          *          *          *          *          *
Well folks, there’s part 2 for you!  Lewis will be getting his actual present in part 3, with a bit of assistance from Gautier!  Stay tuned, send in some questions/comments, and remember to Boldly Go!

Okay, I have to share this! So cool!
-Begin Audio Recording-
Danny Gulliver here, I had to share this with you all! Seriously, what are the odds of this?! Anyway, Gril and I were talking not long after we met, and he said my last name sounded vaguely familiar. So, he did some digging, and he found a journal with Grandpa Lemuel's name in it! Who did the journal belong to, you ask? It was none other than Glumdalclitch! It turns out- she was Grilden's great-great-great-great grandmother! I mean seriously! What are the odds of that?!
Oh man, Lewis has to know. Alright, alright, uh, send to @ask-theprinceandhisgiant , and off it goes! *Sigh* Wow, this is just... mind-blowing, dude. *Chuckle* What are the odds...
*Sigh* Okay, I need to take a breather, get settled down a bit. So, this is Danny Gulliver saying 'Boldly Go' y'all.

Hey, everyone!  I’m Danny Gulliver, here aboard the, uh, Windwalker.  She’s a small vessel I rented from an outfit here in Washington state, USA.  I, uh, planned to take her up the coast of Canada as kinda a... sight-seeing tour?  I guess is one term for it?  But, I also want to follow up on something.  So, my... great-great-great-great... great? grandfather was Lemuel Gulliver.  Yes, that one, with the Lilliputians and everything.  Well, digging into the family history, I find that most everyone called him nuts.  Said he cracked, snapped.  Sold the farm.  I can’t have that on the family ledger anymore.  Heard that my cousin, fifth?  Maybe?  Anyway, my distant cousin Lewis had a similar feeling and went out sailing.  Sent me a message that said he found... something.  Wouldn’t really say what, except it was ‘for their safety’.  Whatever that meant.  Little brat, hehe. *sigh* No, Lewis is actually a pretty great guy, so if he’s being secretive, there’s gotta be a really good reason.  But my plan is to go up the coast of Canada, and find at least some scrap of evidence that grandpa Lemuel wasn’t a nutcase.

So, I’m, uh, not too sure what’s going on with this phone.  Like it, doesn’t want to take video? That sucks.  *Damn*  Anyway, I guess audio posts for now.  Uh, any messages that anyone following my voyage wants to ask, I’ll have this thing at my side.  This is Danny Gulliver, saying ‘Boldly Go’!

Day 2, Somewhere off the coast of British Columbia
-Begin Audio Recording-
*blegh* Hey, everyone, it’s Danny here.  Still a no-go on the video and pictures, and I’m uh, not feeling to *urp* hot.  Something at my last fuel stop is disagreeing with me *oh Jesus*.  This boat rocking sure ain’t helping nothing eitherhangon! (rapid bootfalls, sounds of retching)  *Christ on the cross, make it stop!* (retch, silence broken by heavy panting, slow bootfalls) *sniffle, ptew* This sucks.  I’m going to lay down.  Danny Gulliver says ‘Boldly Go’.

Personal Recording- Danny
-Begin Audio Recording-
Hey everyone. Just, uh, making this recording to, um, show I'm still alive? I guess? *Sigh* I kinda hit a slump after I came back from my last trip to the mainland. Stayed cooped up for about a week, according to Grilden. But, I'm starting to bounce back, so that's good. Been doing some thinking, too. About what it means to be 'dead', in a sense.
About my new life...
About Grilden.
He's been really supportive through this. He gave me space, let me come to terms with things at my own pace. He was there when I needed a shoulder to cry on, and he's helping me get over a small aversion to physical contact that I've had. And, I think I'm starting to... like him? Like a crush? I've never had a crush on a guy before, but... this feels like a crush. *Sigh* I dunno. I guess I have more thinking to do, sort out my head, get my feelings in order. So, for now, this is Danny Gulliver saying 'Boldly Go'.

-Audio Recording, Part 2-
D:  *sounds of hesitant shuffling*  “Well... it started off normal.  It was like... like the day I came back from the mainland, and I told you everyone thought I was dead, and... something else on my mind.”
G:  “Okay Danny, I follow you.”
D:  “And when I told you... y-you... smiled.  *sniffle*  It wasn’t even a smile so much as, like, this... wicked grin.  Y-you grinned down at me, I was at your feet, and-and you grinned and said... you said... *sniff, hiccup, stifled sob* “
G:  “I said something bad?”
D:  “Mm-hm”
G:  “Are you able to tell me?  Can you be brave for me, Danny?”
D:  “You said... ‘No one is coming to save you now... toy’.  You-you grabbed me i-in your fist, and-*gasp*-and you undressed me til I was almost naked, and you dressed me in embarrassing doll clothes.  You called me worthless and said I was nothing! Just a toy... *sobbing*  Made me call you ‘Master’, said I was your new t-toy... to p-play with... *hiccuping sobs*
G:  “... Oh my... that’s quite a nightmare...”
D:  *sniffle* “Mm-hm”
G:  “So, what was that ‘something else’ that you mentioned?”
D:  “Well, I told you that... I, um... kinda developed... feelings for someone very big in my life.”
G:  “Oh? Do I know them?”
D:  “Yeah, you know them very well.”
G:  “Well, who is it?”
D:  “It’s... you.  I have feelings for you.”
*End of Part 2*

Hey Danny, where do you sleep? Do you have your own space or share the bed?
D: I actually have my own space (now).  For a couple nights, we shared the bed. But then Gril had a nightmare and nearly rolled over on me
G: Said I was sorry about that.  Nightmares aren’t a common occurrence for me.
D: But yeah, after that, we decided having a separate space would be safer.  My space is in one of the corners, walled off for privacy

Hey you cuties! Could you tell us about yourselves? What you look like, favorite color, hobbies, things like that?
D:  “Hey there, Anon! Thanks for sending in an ask!  We were kinda wondering when another would come in.”
G:  “Yeah, it was kinda quiet around here.  Thought maybe you good folks went and forgot us.”
D:  “Nah, they wouldn’t forget us, Gril.  They have their own lives to live.”
G:  “I suppose so…”
D:  “Alright, the matter at hand, telling about ourselves.  Mind if I start?  Get the small stuff out of the way?”
G:  “… Was that a size pun?”
D:  “Just a little one *chuckle*”
G:  “*Groan*  Yeah, you can start.  I’m only letting those puns slide cuz you’re cute, and you can’t argue that you’re not.”
D:  “*Grumble*  Anyway, Anon.  My name is Daniel Orion Gulliver, and my birthday is July 19, 1993.  I’m roughly 6′3″ in my scale, and I used to work at a sawmill, and as a dock worker on Lake Superior.  I have long dark hair that I wear tied back in a ponytail, and I have heterochromia, so one of my eyes is green, and the other is blue.  Some of my hobbies include doing crossword puzzles, listening to music, dancing, and occasionally writing.  I’m trying to get into drawing, but I still have a long way to go, haha.  Your turn, Gril.”
G:  “Okay, well, you all know my name is Grilden.  I’m not going to bother with my last name, because it’s long and difficult to spell.  My birthday is in the winter, the fourth day of what you would call ‘January’.  I am twenty-eight years old, and I work as a welder.  My hair is short and blond, and I wear glasses.  My eyes are a deep violet color, since we Brobdignagians have a couple small differences in our genes.  I’m approximately 6′5″, or around 80 feet compared to Danny.  My hobbies include jigsaw puzzles, building models, listening to music, including some that Danny has introduced me to, and flustering my cute little boyfriend.  Oh, and my favorite color is a tie between green and blue.”
D:  “*mumble*  Aw shucks, Gril.”
G:  “And what’s your favorite color, hm?”
D:  “Um… kinda… it’s a kinda, like deep purple color.  I… really like it.”
G:  “Hey, thanks for the question, Anon!  We’re open books if you have more!”
D:  “And remember, boldly go!  Now, what’s a seven-letter word for cute?  Let’s see… G-R-I… hey, Grilden fits!”
G:  “Oh you! *laugh*”

Ha! That's one hell of a meeting! Though certainly better than mine and Gautier's... Sooo... How's it going over there, cuz? What's your living situation? ~Your favorite cousin, Lewis Gulliver ❤~ (Also Gautier says hi)
D: Yeah, it sure was!  What happened when you met Gautier?  Was that when the fight was? Whoever jumped ya was damn lucky that we both weren’t there, we’d’ve thrashed ‘em all! No one hurts my favorite cousin
Oh, it’s going alright here, I guess.  Wish I could figure out how to get back home.  But it is what it is.  Grilden let me use a room in his apartment (not real big by his standards, but plenty by mine).  He’s a pretty decent guy. Plenty friendly, likes to play chess. We have a game almost every night.
Hope things are well with you!  And I hope to maybe meet Gautier someday.  Til then, you’ll just have to tell me about him.  Take care, Lewis! Boldly Go!
