i'll always be baffled by chuuya's capacity for forgiveness, or at least to look past some extreme wrongdoings. honestly it could be easily used as one argument out of many for why chuuya... really obviously doesn't actually hate dazai.
verlaine killed chuuya's found family brutally, and chuuya at the end of it didn't feel any hatred for verlaine. he was upset, sure. he grieved, sure. it was terrible. but he didn't hate verlaine for it. he didn't.
shirase and the rest of the sheep stabbed him with rat poison and teamed up with a group to try to kill him. and he... joined the mafia to protect them, and stayed to protect them.
murase took him in for being a little street rat how many times? and chuuya seems more bored in the way one is bored hanging around in their teacher's classroom after class than actually upset about it (sure, he tells murase to eat shit, but he's also a 16 year old.) i don't think he ever remotely disliked murase to begin with, even if he was quite literally always on chuuya's case.
hell, the leader of the organization chuuya Swore To Destroy, mori? chuuya pretty much steps in and admits he has a lot to learn from the guy. despite kidnapping and/or injuring sheep members.
out of all of what he can look past, why would he find hatred for dazai?

I shared this weeks on Reddit but since that site is a wreck, I’m sharing over here too. I identified which (100% free!) cape pattern the illustrations of Vin and Kelsier on the stickers in the Mistborn swag box heavily reference! You’d obviously have to do a bunch of tweaks, but I would recognize this torso wrap and dart situation anywhere, so it’s a solid starting point!

could we get some Coast Guard art? maybe some Coast Guard/Greg for the one person (me) that likes this ship? 👀
you don’t have to though!! (it’d just be really cool if you did 👀 /j)
heres two headcanons as a treat (one being this ship and another being Caliyork because, why not):
Coast Guard and Greg like to hang out together after a long day of work. They’ll sneak out if they have to just so they can meet up and bitch to each other about whatever happened that day. Sometimes they’ll hang out at each others houses (Greg’s shit but home-y apartment or Coast Guards box because he doesn’t get a house /j)
California likes to take New York out to his beaches. They’ll tan, play in the water, build sandcastles, etc (usually after California pouts at New York to convince him to do those things lmao). He’s trying to teach New York how to surf but it’s going…
He’s determined to teach him, to say the least lol
Ehehhh Ty for the headcanons they’re always appreciated!! I like the idea of Greg and Coast Guard just chilling
And yay beach time!! NY wonders how Cali survives the heat then he gets into the water and goes “oh that’s how”
I haven’t drawn Greg in forever cause I kinda forget he exists but it was nice to draw him again

Look at me. LOOK at me. Old growth forests are important. Their loss is violence against the land.
BUT that isn’t a reason to point at younger, perfectly healthy closed canopy forests and claim they’re ecologically insignificant or bad. Their sparse understory is a function of closed canopy forests. Even old growth forests will have sparse understories if the canopy is closed. That’s how photosynthetic strata works.
The west coast has vastly different forests and history than the east. The rare volcanic eruption that made the giant stands of Douglas fir in the west possible would be literally impossible here. Our species are adapted for stand replacing fires set by indigenous peoples to drive deer and rejuvenate oak. Oak as a genus is dying here. We can’t set fires. We can’t harvest patches large enough to simulate a fire. Our deer are overpopulated and browse down every sprout that dares to reach for sunlight.
Making a sweeping ban on clear-cut and similarly ‘scary’ harvests would kill them for good. The restrictions on fire have nearly done that to species like Jack and pitch pine that rely heavily on fire to establish. They’ve been relegated to pine barrens and the rare sandy forest clearing. Our fire Cherry, thankfully, can last decades in the soil seedbank. You can only see them the first few decades after a large, complete harvest and then they die.
What’s good for one forest kills another. Not all trees are made ecologically equal - and that’s a very good thing. All trees and forests have their ecological value. Management of one forest is never applicable to other forests; they all have their own unique histories and communities that should be imitated when possible and left alone when not.

All of a sudden, the door to the operations room was kicked open. The bent door flew into the air before bounding off the ground. A shadowy figure slowly walked through the now-useless entranceway. He wore a long, glossy-black overcoat and a black hat made from the same material. His shaggy brown hair peaked out from underneath his hat. His personalized three-piece suit perfectly fit his smaller frame, giving him a gentlemanly, sophisticated air.
Unique.
That word alone could sum him up. His dominating presence, the otherworldly atmosphere, his piercing eyes that stood out from his beautiful features--everything about him was unique. He placed his black-gloved hands in his pockets.
"Pretty ballsy of you to call for me over the phone like I'm some delivery guy," haughtily claimed the man--Chuuya Nakahara.
is the dead apple novelization writer in love with chuuya or something. what is this. two paragraphs dedicated to calling chuuya pretty. two entire paragraphs. he just kicked a door in. where am i

OK question for you about yourself! Do you like brussels sprouts?
I LOVE Brussels sprouts! They got such a bad rap during my childhood. I love them roasted or one of my favorite ways to make them is shredded with pancetta and some pecorino. Delicious.
Do you like them?

why do you hate how to train your dragon my dear fellow squelcher
tell us
hello cuties @boobooslimpshart because i read the books as a kid and was EXTREMELY excited to see the movie because i loved the books so much. unfortunately the only similarity between the books and the movies was the names of the characters. they literally changed the entire story and then slapped how to train your dragon's name on it. the movie is also a great story but idk why they didn't just make their own characters.
