During All Star Break, your family had decided to visit you, including all three brothers. They weren’t named to the ASG so they decided what better way to spend it than with their little sister, mainly because they hadn’t seen you much due to hockey and school.

“Beecher, I swear to god.” Jack seethed as he watched the curly headed man jump off the couch. He knew his stupid head from anyone and the fact Jack knew you hung out with Patrick and Johnny, he clearly knew who was putting the moves in his little sister when he entered your apartment.

“It’s not what it looks like!” Johnny quickly said, holding his hands out in front of him.

“Don’t lie, it’s exactly what it looks like.” You chuckled as you tossed Johnny under the bus.

“Are you serious Y/N?” Johnny whined, “Now he’s really going to kill me.”

“Damn right.” Jack said, the rest of your family looking sort of confused except Quinn.

Your parents had suspicions, Luke didn’t know anything, but Quinn knew. You had told Quinn, him swearing not to tell Jack or Luke.

“My sister? Of all people.” Jack scoffed, “Out of everyone?”

“I like her Jack.” Johnny admitted, “We got close when she got here and it.. it just happened.”

“Go home Johnny.” Jack grumbled as he glared at him, still upset with Johnny, but tried not to let his emotions get the better of him. He knew Johnny would be good to you, but he needed time to adjust to this.

“So is it a bad time to tell you I live here too?” Johnny asked as he scratched the back of his neck, knowing this wasn’t going to blow over well with his best friend.

“You’ve got approximately ten seconds to get out of my line of sight before i kick your ass.”

Butch’s Granddaughter’s Lisa Burroughs and Susan Miller are graphic designers. They designed most of the merchandise that is for sale on Threadless. A percentage of the profits go to Flight Test Museum at Edwards Air Force Base. This nonprofit charity is personal to the Sheffield family because they are raising money to house SR-71, #955. This was the first Blackbird that Butch Sheffield flew on Oct. 4, 1965.

The Mach 3 rivalry between the YF-12 and the XB-70.

The futuristic XB-70A was originally conceived in the 1950s as a high-altitude, nuclear strike bomber that could fly at Mach 3 (three times the speed of sound) — any potential enemy would have been unable to defend against such a bomber.

As impressive a technological feat as the B-70 represented, the aircraft was under development at a time when the future of the manned bomber was uncertain. During the late 1950s and early 1960s, many believed that manned aircraft were obsolete, and the future belonged to missiles. As a result, the Kennedy Administration ended plans to deploy the B-70. Two experimental XB-70A prototypes were under construction at North American Aviation when the program was canceled. Even so, the USAF bought the two Valkyries to test aerodynamics, propulsion and other characteristics of large supersonic aircraft.

Nevertheless, North American Aviation had built the first Mach 3 bomber (although the six-engine Valkyrie could only dash to Mach 3 due to aero heating and not cruising at that speed) and their public relations firm was advertising every place they could about how their airplane could fly higher and faster than anyone could before.

On the other side of Edwards Air Force Base (AFB), the YF-12 Blackbird kept its secrets near and dear. The YF-12 was a variant of the A-12 with a backseat for the missile launch controller.

The YF-12s took the seventh through ninth slots on the A-12 assembly line; these were designated as YF-12A high-altitude, Mach 3 interceptor.

The main changes involved modifying the A-12’s nose by cutting back the chines to accommodate the huge Hughes AN/ASG-18 fire-control radar initially developed for the XF-108 with two infrared search and track sensors embedded in the chine leading edge, and the addition of the second cockpit for a crew member to operate the fire control radar for the air-to-air missile system. This airframe could easily fly Mach 3.

As told by Donn A. Byrnes and Kenneth D. Hurley in their book Blackbird Rising: Birth of an Aviation Legend, they were both being tested at Edwards AFB at the same time, so naturally, they hung out at the same bar after work. One of the local watering holes was called Hernandez Hideaway.

Jim Eastham had just about enough of the bragging he heard daily about the XB-70. Eastham was a Lockheed test pilot who had already flown the A-12 and was now flying the YF-12.

One evening at the bar Al White of the XB-70 program was raving about his high Mach numbers when Eastham couldn’t stand it any longer. He turned to White and said, “Al, we do more Mach 3 time in a single YF-12 mission than you guys have flown in your entire program” Al looked at Jim, and without missing a beat, he said, “yes that’s true, Jim, but we lose pieces that are bigger than what you fly!!

The XB-70 was an extremely large airframe; the YF-12 was not small being 107 feet long. But if you compared the two, the Blackbird looked small.

what's the difference with bee and p on social media? like sid doesn't post bee, but do mama and aus post p?

sid doesn't have social media in general, and the team's social media doesn't post bee's face (bcz of sid's wishes). bee has like maybe ten or so childhood pics that are floating somewhere on the internet - all of which sid approved of. they're from his first stanley cup (that was when the world found out about bee), his other two stanley cups, the stanley cup celebrations, an asg or two, and like just a few cute pics of sid and bee that some news articles reuse. in general, sid doesn't mind bee's face being on the internet, but he tries to keep it as minimal as possible just bcz he wants to keep her safe and have a sense of normalcy. the nhl and pens accept that and don't post bee's face, whether they blur it out/cover it/change the cameras so it's her back. as she gets older, bee posts her own face (when she commits to college/around then) and nate's posted her face a few times.

mama and aus don't mind peanut's face on the internet, but only them/their family/friends post her. aus usually doesn't show peanut's face in many of the pics, but mama will show her face in some of them. the hughes bros, aus' sisters, mitchy, barzy, they all sometimes post her face, but usually just on their story/close friends. they're not super public with peanut's face, but they're not super private either. like the teams will blur out p's face until she's like 7/8, but mama and aus post her sometimes before that.

oh my gosh yay hey bestie!

so today the kids are obviously up in the box much to their annoyance

luke’s kids, since they’re so young, have a tough time saying goodbye to luke so by the time they’re up in the box, they’re a little pouty (but that’s nothing ellen can’t fix)

the pacific goes up against the atlantic first so the kids are obviously cheering for quinn (not that they don’t cheer when cole or brady score as well)

quinn and z (and briss, bords, matty idk what umich boys i said were there LMAO) all rack up a few goals which makes the kids scream loudly as they cheer with the crowd

the pacific wins by a landslide and the break in between games means snack time! the kids disappear from where y’all are sitting and come back a few minutes later with hands full of popcorn and candy which they reluctantly share with their moms

next up is central vs metropolitan and this one is serious

it’s a cutthroat game for the kids, they are strictly cheering for the metropolitan team (except for quinn’s one nate mack obsessed kid who secretly cheers every time he scores)

jack and luke also get quite a few points between them and it results in their team winning as well

now the real show begins, the hughes brothers are up against each other in the finals and oh boy, if that didn’t spark a fire in the arena

the kids restock their snacks before the final game begins and they actually make two trips so that the adults can all have their owen snacks (and stop stealing theirs!)

this game really divides the kids, obviously they’re all cheering for their own dad but that doesn’t mean they aren’t trying to get other cousins on their side

ellen and the moms have to remind them that they basically are obligated to cheer for both teams and they can’t really pick a side when the kids try to get them involved

the pacific division ends up winning and quinn’s kids are ecstatic, bouncing off the walls and rubbing it in their cousin’s faces that their dads lost

after everything is over, y’all head down to the locker rooms and the boys all come out and are just kinda hanging around and the kids just attack them with hugs

at this point, a lot of the guys know the hughes children so they talk to them quite a bit when they go into the locker rooms

AGAIN quinn’s nate mack kid is freaking out (i think this is my new favourite thing lmao i can’t stop thinking about it) and maybe he offers the kid a signed jersey, promising that he’ll talk to quinn about shipping it to them and all that

or maybe the avs are coming to vancouver like within the month so nate just promises that he’ll bring the jersey to that game and quinn’s like ‘bro no way my kids gonna wear ur jersey’ but doesn’t say anything, just smiles and nods

the interview with quinn’s son was so cute!!! what do you think it would be like when jack and luke have kids and allllll the cousins are at the all star game? jack recreating his breakaway challenge with his own kid?? I’d imagine quinn’s son is old enough to be the little ring leader and is trying to stop his cousins from derailing the whole skills comp while jack and luke’s kids are just wreaking havoc (just like their fathers lmao) 😭😭 and ofc it’s just the dads on the ice to look after them so there’s a lot of “oh shit is that one of the kids we brought” “HEY WHATSYOURNAME HUGHES GET BACK TO THE BENCH RIGHT NOW” also I’m just imagining all the bro’s friends having to help babysit like z and cole and brady all being assigned a kid to watch bc there’s so many and the mamas are just enjoying watching their partners suffer a little and drinking margs in the box w queen ellen

okok i told myself i wasn’t going to write a whole lot for this but… i got a little carried away

also i was gonna wait and put this with dilf day but i wanna post it now so i’m just gonna tag it as dilf day so let’s ignore that it’s sunday today and i’m posting ok? ok.

kinda part one

they’d be like ‘uh where do you think you’re going??’ when the moms all leave with ellen

i feel like luke would be freaking out because he’s still maybe new to the whole dad thing and maybe it’s also his first asg so it’s just making him nervous

there’s gotta be like at least 6 or 7 kids between the three of them

quinn probably has 3 and then jack maybe 2 or 3 also and luke either 1 or 2 but luke’s are super young still

jack’s breakaway challenge would quite literally steal the show like it already was a big deal but if it was with his kid??? unimaginable also bonus points if he somehow included him (3 generations of hughes boys!!! the media would go wild)

quinn’s kids would be ranging from 12-7 maybe like around that age so they’d try to keep their younger cousins in line but it’s also so exciting to be down on the ice with their dad!! so they get a little wild too

also aside from being with their dad, obviously their uncles are there AND their bonus uncles (that’s what i call my aunts/uncles if i’m not actually related idk) so it’s just like the best day ever for them because the only time that rlly happens is the summer when everyone is together

you know how in the tkachuk blurbs (if you don’t you should rlly go read them) that brady’s kids are the wild children? yeah, that’s jacks kids

they’re not misbehaved… they’re just rambunctious

also ok maybe there’s just a ton of kids between all the players so before the game or maybe in between skills comps there’s time for the kids to go out and skate

so the boys all take one kid out obviously with their friends helping (maybe z, cole, matthew, brady, owen power, or matty beniers idk use ur imagination who u want to be there)

and during this skate, they’re just chasing all the kids around and the moms are up with ellen laughing at how stressed they all seem whenever they’re shown on the jumbotron

it’s a whole production when it’s time for them to get off the ice: jack and luke are probably like frantically trying to get their kids off the ice while z and cole stand there and they’re like ‘uh is that one of our kids or someone else’s??’

maybe z grabs a megaphone and just announces that all hughes children have to leave the ice

and then during quinn and luke’s comp ALL the cousins are screaming their heads off cheering for their dad or uncle, whoever it may be

the entire hughes family probably gets more screen time than anything else because the media is obsessed with them

and you already know the tiktok girlies are going crazy at them (and all the bonus uncles) with the kids and edits are being produced at record speed

i feel like z would be such a good uncle for jacks kids specifically! especially because they don’t get to see him lots since he lives so far and the ducks rarely come to nj although z does try to visit whenever he’s in new york

and going off that thought, the only redeemable thought about brady tkachuk in my mind is that he’d be really sweet with quinn’s kids but that’s all i’m saying (matthew would be like next level adorable with them because he’s just a rlly good dad)

idk if you saw but the kids (i don’t remember their dad) that went around the locker room and collected like 15 signed sticks? yeah that’d be all the hughes children

and maybe quinn’s oldest kid would just be obsessed with a player like for example nate mac and he’s just like star struck so quinn has to go talk to nate with him (and nate is a sweetheart and gives him a signed stick)

oh gosh and let’s just say this asg was in vegas, the kids would go absolutely crazy on the strip. only cause it’s fun! it’s vacation! but they love it. they go to sugar factory after the skills comp of course with the bonus uncles tagging along and it’s so chaotic the kids are just inhaling everything sugary in sight and then after they’re bouncing off the walls

z and cole chasing the kids through the hallways of the hotel. that’s all.

ellen would get all the brothers and wives and all the kids grouped together in the locker room for a group picture (and then another w the bonus uncles of course) and it would literally flood all social medias

OH MY WORD I HAVENT EVEN GOTTEN TO THE INTERVIEWS

okay they’d set up like a panel for the hughes brothers because duhhh need that media!!

i feel like the kids would just be moving at all times… like switching chairs or giggling at each other and the brothers are trying to focus and actually answer the questions so that they can leave faster but the kids are superrrr distracting

oh! and they’d ask the older kids who their favourite players are and then when they answered someone other than their dad or uncles, the reporters would like rip into the boys a bit but only playfully and they would just laugh it off

omg and maybe they’d do cute pictures with their kids like during the media day or they’d get them all for a group interview (maybe even with the moms as well) and they’d play a game like most likely to or something

ok this is much much longer than i originally intended but i could probably keep going so i’m just gonna end it here<3

so like the kids all definitely have their favourite uncle; jack’s kids probably adore z because he fools around with them a lot, quinn’s kids probably like jack or luke the best because they team up to pull pranks on quinn, luke’s kids i can just see them loving when all the umich boys hang out again and they’re always the center of attention at those gatherings

on the first night there (is it the friday? i think so) like the media day when everyone arrives, the whole group goes to sugar factory because obviously the kids would just have to go there!

all the kids would fight to sit with their favourite adult and it took literally ages for them all to settle down into their chairs

i think z or one of luke’s friends like matty or briss maybe would order this for the kids that are sitting with him and when it comes, the other kids get mad that they only got normal sized drinks while their siblings/cousins got the big one… like 3 more big ones were ordered for them after that

brady would give up his phone to quinn’s kids to keep them entertained and they’d totally post shit on his ig story like videos and stuff

the moms are just relaxing like it’s the boy’s turn to watch the kids so they’re sharing a big drink (with alc of course) at like the next table and they are just enjoying being kid-free for the hour

the dinner would be crazy but at least the kids are distracted by food, all bets are off when you guys leave and have to walk down the strip

it’s already stressful because there’s like half of the all-stars walking down the strip together but when the kids are running around and the boys are all just as riled up… pure chaos

omg so also now i’m adding to the equation: elias pettersson (how on-brand of me right?!!)

elias would be quinn’s kids absolute favourite person ever since they spend so much time with him so when he’s around, everything is forgotten with the other guys

the kids would literally ditch quinn and their mom and brady for elias, all grabbing onto him as they walk down the strip

so the first night is pretty tame, once y’all are back at the hotel it’s a chill movie night with the hughes brothers and all the kids (maybe some of the other boys) but everyone’s in bed fairly early

after the skills comp, before the adults get to go out and party, the kids are just bouncing around between all their dads because they’re so excited about the day

also the kid that was obsessed with nate mack? he will not shut up about how he got a signed stick from his favourite player!!!

the kids would be really pouty when their dads announce that they’re going out tonight, they’re like ‘uh didn’t you spend all day with those guys? why do you need to see them again??’

i can see quinn’s kids being really clingy while jack’s are the ones that don’t really notice when he leaves
