#tmi #anucad #i have soooooo many cc mods #like. apparently i had over 400 the last time i played on my shitty laptop #i started going through & sorting them & redownloading in case they've updated #& of course while figuring out where tf i even got many of these i ended up downloading more #& eventually i said “fuck it just stick the unsorted mods in their own folder inside the mod folder” #anyway. i barely even play with the sims i make. i just love character creation #like. according to steam i've got 22.4h playtime on bg3. ~8 or 9 of that was when i tried on my laptop & it was super slow & kept freezing- #-& crashing. roughly 3 hours is actual non-character creation playtime. the rest is me fucking around in the character creator #i have no idea how much time i've sunk into gaia online's avatar builder but it's probably well over 100 hours #Love Nikki probably over 1000 #i need y'all to understand. i love character creation. when i'm drawing a new oc my brain is flipping through what design things to give- #-them like a goddamn dressup game. part of me wants to try doing character design professionally but the problem is... #...if you look at all my OCs they're mostly basically anime girls. i'm bad at making myself diversify my characters beyond occasionally- #-giving them black/brown skin. i need to make more fat characters. and more darker skinned characters. & more other things.

Been considering a Paradoxverse AU for AnuCad, which considering how Anubis was *originally* created as a TPS agent (before I had actually figured out what TPS was other than being a “secret society”) is kind of funny.

Since then, I’ve made the core of Anubis as “con man magician but kind of a sub” and Cadmus is pretty vague but ultimately “witch who likes to tease people” (Cadmus as a character was originally made to be a My Time at Sandrock OC, she was originally involved in theatre in Atara or something before deciding to move to Sandrock to be a builder but she was also always meant to have witchy vibes).

In the Paradoxverse, I might go ahead and have Anubis be a TPS agent, and maybe Cadmus could be a librarian or curator for the Mouseion.

In the Paradoxverse, the Museion was originally founded by humans to gather human knowledge, but as one might expect in a world occupied by magical/supernatural beings, other knowledge was also included and including amongst human knowledge would prove to be dangerous, especially once intellectuals started being exiled from Alexandria. After Aristarchus of Samothrace was forced to resign as head librarian, the Museion went in a different direction: while it’s primary purpose would still be to gather knowledge, it would do so in order to restrict access by average human beings, as well as collecting dangerous magical artifacts.

At some point after the founding of The Paradox Society, the Museion’s head librarian reached out to form an alliance given their similar missions. They also reached out in the hopes that since the Museion’s employees were mostly trained as librarians/historians/curators, collecting artifacts was something few employees were really qualified to do and resulted in a fairly high mortality rate. TPS agents, on the other hand, were trained in dealing with dangerous people and situations. The Museion had a hard time finding reliable independent contractors, but if they could have TPS send out agents to do the collecting for them? That would make things WAY easier.

Anyway, since one of TPS’s founders (Aurelia, aka “Brimstone”) used to work for the Museion, it didn’t take much convincing to have TPS lend it’s agents for Museion missions.

So in the present we have Cadmus, a witch working as a library for the Museion (working mostly in the theatre and witchcraft sections), and Anubis, a human TPS agent with a knack for sleight-of-hand who ends up having to work with her to locate and retrieve an artifact for the Museion.

One of my friends has fancy sorta epithet-ish tags for their characters & I've always wanted to do something like that so I made a note on my phone to figure out what the tags should be so when I make that rpg sideblog (once I can think of a url for it ._.) I can use those :3

That first list is D&D OCs, Gwin was originally a character for an rp that was converted for Call of Cthulhu, then there's Tav, and honorable mentions AnuCad bc I have rpg-esque AUs for them & I have a BG3 file for them (Cadmus as the player & Anubis as the guardian)

It's hard to come up with cool sounding tags for them ._.

Okay so I may have modded too close to the sun & corrupted my most recent BG3 saves (I guess I'm making AnuCad all over again), BUT the latest usable save for Bastille is pretty close to where I was; pretty much only difference between it and where I last was is that her clothes aren't dyed, so it's not much of a loss at least.
