Ernest Haycox was one of the most popular Western authors of the first half of the 20th century. Several of his stories were adapted into movies, like Stagecoach, or this Trail Town (1941) that got turned into Abilene Town (1946) starring Randolph Scott and Ann Dvorak.

"Next to an actress's eyes, the lips are the most important feature," he says.
