if you grew up in angel ridge then you’ve surely heard of the richards. they’re, after all, one of the richest families in town, and that is enough to make up for the fact that they’re fairly new to it, moving from la when their only daughter was less than two years old. little katherine ann didn’t have any memories from la, growing up in a sprawling white manor on top of the pacific grove, her own little kingdom.

katherine was always the perfect daughter, or at least very good at pretending to be. straight a student, charming and talented. there were never many worries in her life, except for the ones she created for herself. because kathy always liked having fun, and always had the habit of taking it a little too far. drinking her parents expensive wine until she was crying and laughing and feeling sick, throwing small parties that always ended up having half the school, getting caught in a very compromising position in the back of her best friend’s car with said best friend… not her best moment, and one that filled the town’s gossip mill for months. 

perhaps if her parents were more interested in her life that would be enough to take away her position as their little princess, but as it were, jefferson and marion richards’ only preoccupation in life were themselves, their mattress empire and what would be served at their next lavish dinner party. this way, kathy managed to graduate high school relatively unscathed, with an early admission to the scripps women’s college and very proud parents that were all too glad to look away from her more troubling behavior. 

kathy graduated in classical studies summa cum laude, but to many her greatest achievement were not latin translations or works of experimental poetry: it was her slot in the university’s radio. every wednesday kathy richards’ voice filled the airwaves with blunt advice, flirty back and forth and good music. though marion urged her daughter to return home (and preferably get engaged and married), kathy found herself lingering in claremont, getting a master’s degree and most importantly an even bigger time slot at the radio.

unfortunately college can’t last forever, and when kathy turned twenty five she felt pressured to go back home and help her parents keep an eye on the family business. she didn’t move back to pacific grove, however, buying her own spacious and modern apartment, and finally submitting some tapes to radio city after a night of one too many bottles of wine. she was hired the next day, with her own radio show. miss pink.

nowadays, katherine ann still walks through angel ridge as if she owns the town, and the rumors about her are still just as salacious as they were in high school. turns around more than half a decade away in college was not enough to make the small town forget about her small delinquencies, and the old ladies are all too delighted to talk about miss pink and how she has slept with everyone in town (she really hasn’t. the mayor is definitely not her type.)

HEADCANONS

Austin was born to a family that lived in the trailer park and grew up to rent out his own trailer in the same park. I'm open to siblings, particularly sisters, that Austin has always taken care of. When he was younger, his family needed him to keep track of things at home because all of the adults were busy and he still does everything that he can. His mother was under 18 when she had him, his father was shit and all of his siblings have different fathers. All of them are absent too and Austin never took any of them seriously. At least he was the only kid his mom had before she was ready for one. I'm up for planned and unplanned siblings. The youngest (NPC) is a brother that's a child and he was planned. His mom was empty nesting and missed having children around, so she had another one. Austin thinks his mom can be a little shortsighted, but he's more than willing to help her out. He's always there for his sisters too and spends most of his money on them.

At the same time, he takes on as much as he can for the Krakens, as someone that truly believes in their meaning. He's not hoping to go to jail or have to throw himself in front of violence, he will do so if he needs to. As far as he's concerned, if someone has to do something negative it should be him. He's protective of the Krakens, like he is at home with his blood family.

He got with the Krakens because growing up, he watched the violence around him and wound up in more than one fight.

With the rest of his time, he works, hoping to save up enough to get his family out of the trailer park. Most of his money goes into helping his family.

With others, he can come off as standoffish and maybe even mean just by the way he looks, but he's not a bad guy. At the core of things, he really does want to keep the town safe, so bullying people or being ruder than he needs to be would make that mission harder. There's no reason for him to add to the problem. He might even help you out if you need something. This standoffish quality was worse before the Krakens, before he started to feel like he was really making a difference and before he had a group of people to stand behind him if his trailer park origins became a problem.

korry was born in chicago, illinois on february 13 to single mother patricia thomeson. his father, jerimiah st. james, was imprisoned at the time of korry's birth, and later passed away in prison, a casualty of a gang conflict gone far south. jerimiah was the right hand of a powerful and known gang leader, and became a target through shady dealings in an operation that reached overseas. following his death, patricia and korry became targets. patricia didn't have a positive track record of being the world's best mother. knowing she couldn't bring herself to be what her son needed, she escaped chicago and headed for angel ridge, where she left korry in the care of her already ailing mother.

raised by his already ailing grandmother betty, korry began caring for her at a young age. growing resentment for his parents and the lifestyles they'd chosen began to get under his skin in ways he couldn't recognize, fueling an anger that began at a young age. puberty did nothing to help those feelings, and while e never turned his feelings or vendettas towards his grandmother, he began running the streets, following in his father's footsteps unwittingly in his attempt to show the world his anger at the life his father had lived. falling into the same habits, korry found himself facing down the law and involved in very unsavory activities. despite the distance between chicago and angel ridge, korry's father's position and ultimate end was known in town as well, given his familial connections (he and patricia fled to chicago together following their graduation). because of that history and reputation of his father drove people's expectations of korry.

at the age of 18, korry watched one of his best friends pass away at the hands of the violence that was a result of some of the activities they were involved in. while things weren't directly related to the gangs and factions in town, the loss of his friend gave korry large pause to re-examine his life and choices. his grandmother's health was deteriorating further, and he knew the stress he was placing her under was only adding more stress. deciding to change his ways, he began working on a commitment to be different. still, tensions in town were high, and he found himself pressured to take a side. with the death in town and a new faction forming, korry saw his opportunity to begin promoting the change he wishes to see. joining the krakens, he maintains his reputation as one of the town bad-boys, but internally wants to continue to make changes. he has also secretly begun taking night classes, wanting to work towards getting out of angel ridge at some point, and seeking a new beginning.

Hearing that his father was Remington Atwood Sr. he sought him out for help with medical expenses, when Remington Sr. declined he threatened to tell everyone that the great Atwood Family abandons their children.

Upon being blackmailed, Remington Sr. offers him a job instead of giving him money, which Patrick accepted, knowing his mom wouldn't accept money from his father.

The first day on the job, he finds out he has a half brother. Patrick was hoping to get to know him, so he pulled his brother aside and told him. It did not end well. Ever wince theirs been friction.

Pre Leon his father was one of the best men the Greasers had in their ranks. He was second in command of the Angel Ridge Demons. His father's reputation began to slip as Hugo began drinking more and more heavily.

The drinking turned to yelling which ultimately lead to his father beating Leon’s mother; Angelica. This carried on for years, and his mother became very good at hiding bruises. It wasn't until Leon was about 10 years old that Leo stood up for his mother. From there the lashing was directed at Leon anytime his mother set his father off. After an altercation which landed both the men in some hot water during Leon's early teenage years the abuse tapered off, his father now knowing Leon could hold his own.

He spent most of his childhood anywhere that wasn’t his parent’s trailer in Hillcrest. Most of the time you could find him loitering around the junkyard which is what sparked the beginning of his automotive career. 

Leon had always loved the 'Greaser' lifestyle and emersed himself in their world pretty early on in life. As he got older and with a little bit of help from his nepo-baby privilege he rose in the ranks. When his father's drinking got to the point it was affecting his ability to do his job Leo often found himself stepping in for him. Leon finally burnt the bridge of any sort of relationship with Hugo when he usurped his position from the unfit man.

Through working odd end jobs Leo rebuilt his first passion project when he was 16. His bike is his baby.

Flirtatious by fault not by nature

Growing up he took pride in the ‘Menace to Society’ title he had received from the local PD. By the time he was 14, he had a rap sheet that was as long as he was tall.

Has really only had one serious relationship. His ex-girlfriend being the ‘Soc Princess’ herself. He was deeply wounded by her when she flipped on him to save herself once they were caught sneaking around. He didn’t care that she lied and had gotten him locked up because of it he more cared that he let someone in and they double-crossed him. He’s still pretty pissed she narced on him when the only thing ‘wrong’ he did was let his guard down and let her get to close.

He can be a bit of a douche but to his friends and fellow Greasers, he’s loyal to the end and would take a bullet for them.

saul lives in a two-bedroom home in pine grove with his mother, anita, and his younger sister, mary, who is fifteen. also in the house is blue's own five-year-old daughter, michelle. he became a father at sixteen and dropped out to go work as a handyman. now that he's twenty-one, he has accepted a job as a bouncer. that way, he can take care of his daughter during the day and his mother can watch her while he works. often, you can see blue and his daughter together - no matter where he is. she is only five, but has a very big mouth and isn't easily impressed. she is very street-smart for her age. michelle's mother left him and michelle a few weeks after michelle was born and hasn't been heard from since. her family also left the town. no one would dare to mess with him if they knew what was best for them. saul is known to punch a man until he won't get up anymore. he feels easily threatened and especially if his daughter is around, he'd rather die than lose a fight.

blue is bisexual and it was actually because michelle's mother found him fooling around with another guy that she decided to leave him and michelle. being a mother was already too much for her, and that just pushed her over the edge. the rumor of him not being well endowed actually comes from a pantsing incident in middle school. he went into puberty very late - and then immediately knocked a girl up - so when he was pantsed at fifteen and still looked very much prepubescent... well, it was just assumed it never grew. he is nicely average if you must know but laugh with the rumor at your own peril. he will punch you until someone pulls him off.

Background:

Felix “Flit” Easton had it rough growing up, even though his family used to be close-knit. His parents worked as hard as they could and took on multiple jobs but it wasn’t enough to afford more than a two bedroom house for them and their two sons. Felix and his brother Leo weren’t completely oblivious to the state of things- especially when Felix would tell Leo stories to block out the “spirited discussion” his mom and dad were having in the next room.

It wasn’t like they didn’t love each other anymore- or so they said. But years passed and they split up when Felix was 13. His dad moved as far as he could, and Leo chose to go with him, so it left just Felix and his mom to pick up the pieces. She was a mess afterwards, so her son took it upon himself to work hard as soon as he was old enough to get a part time job, to support them until she got back on her feet again. He took up a job as a server at Rosie’s Diner after school. During his junior year, he fell in love with writing and wanted to do it professionally when he grew up. His mom, now back working at the local grocery store, warned him it wasn’t a steady career but he didn’t care.

He graduated and began going to the local community college, hoping to transfer to a university. During this time too, he would watch the Titans. He had wanted to join, for protection outwardly, but secretly because he was lonely. He was separated from his blood brother so maybe having a surrogate “family” to join as long as he proved himself wasn’t bad. But the Titans were known for rejecting anyone who wasn’t either related to a member or invited in, so Felix wasn’t welcome. Later on, he heard that a new group was being formed against the Titans’ policies, and he jumped to join in.

When Carmine killed Fish, he knew that war was coming. Felix had never believed the story that soc had fed everyone. It was ridiculous- he knew that Carmine had problems with Fish’s surrogate “brother” and that it was the easiest way to lure him out. Grief can do a lot to a person- as Flit now knew. He had gotten word of Leo’s death at the absolute worst time. His brother had been in a car accident when he’d skidded out of control, and it broke him. Now that this tragedy has now happened to his new family, he’s not only fighting for the town, but to get past the rut he’s fallen into since his brother’s loss, including his grades slipping fast. His mom doesn’t know about the gang or anything- just that he has new “friends” and about Leo’s passing. Felix intends to keep it that way for as long as possible, because he doesn’t want her to worry even more about him than she is already.

Headcanons:

- Flit gets his nickname because of his impulsive nature. If he’s compelled to do something, almost nothing can stop him, even if it’s potentially dangerous or risky. He’s also emotional, especially lately, and never has known how to hide his feelings even if he tries.

- He’s a good cook, having cooked meals for his mom before and surprising himself with how they managed to turn out.

- Has a habit of picking at a zit on his chin that has never healed because of his habit. His mom and the gang can tell him to stop, but he feels compelled to do it, as if somehow perfect skin lies underneath instead of a future scab.

- Is scared of thunder. Will never admit it to anyone though.

- He’s vegan and has been for a few years now. Is just peacefully existing and doesn’t push anyone to go vegan unless they approach him about it. Hates his food being called, “rabbit food”

- He and his brother wrote back and forth to each other before Leo died, but they never visited each other because they were busy with their lives and they made a promise to get together sometime, but that was gone when Leo had the accident.

Catie hardly remembers her mother being around growing up. With no real father in the picture, the only constant in her life growing up was her older brother, Coty.

The boy only 4 years her senior raised her and to this day she is eternally grateful and indebted to her brother.

Academically Catie did very well in school. She was a mostly straight-A student and graduated high school with Magna Cum Laude Honors and was the salutatorian at her high school graduation. All while working a part-time job she had started at 16 to help her brother put food on the table.

Catherine finally decided to do something with her life after graduation. She applied to the University of Seattle where she was accepted and received academic scholarships to attend. She graduated college at age 21 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and is contemplating returning to school to receive her Master’s Degree in Nursing. 

After Graduating College Catie landed her dream job at Seattle Memorial working under her college mentor. 

During her college days, Catherine met a man a few years older than her named Eli. She was smitten with him instantly. He was nothing like the boys back home, he was a gentleman and it was the first time anyone saw her as a desirable woman and not just Coty’s kid sister.

At 19 Catie found herself following in her mother’s footsteps of being a young mom when two pink lines appeared on the pregnancy test. Eli was excited about the pregnancy so by proxy Catie was too. Determined to be a better mother than her own she had decided to work on her degree till the baby was born, she would then take a break to find her footing in parenthood before starting back up.

Catie was only 3 months pregnant when she noticed some blood spotting one afternoon which was accompanied by some abdominal pain. She quickly rushed herself to the hospital where they informed her she was miscarrying. Eli did not handle losing their child well which ultimately lead to the beginning of their relationship crumbling down around them.

He became toxic and manipulative pretty fast. He was constantly thinking she was sleeping around or talking to other guys after they lost their child to ‘numb the pain’ or “to replace him” as he would put it

She started to distance herself from him. The pain of the miscarriage was hard on her and instead of helping guide her through this tough time Eli was doing the opposite. He began staking her every move, watching everything she did, and showed up wherever she was to make sure she was with who she said she was with.

It turned violent a few times, especially during heated arguments. He would grab her by her arm so she couldn’t walk away. He was always sorry afterward when the finger mark bruises would appear wrapped around her bicep. Finally, She had had enough and packed her bags, leaving what she couldn’t fit into her two ruffle bags and disappeared into the darkness of night while he slept. She promptly returned back to Angel Ridge seeking the comfort of her brother.

She has been back in Angel Ridge now for a few months and is currently working at Memorial hospital as a Registered Nurse

She’s very closed off right now as she processes and deals with her ex-boyfriend but to those close to her she will go to the ends of the earth to make sure they have everything they need.
