SUMMARY ~ Nikki’s drunk as fuck and lets our some feelings he’s been holding in for a while

“Alright there’s a good 20 minutes before we get on stage, has anyone seen Nikki?” Vince was frantically pacing around, nervous about where the bassist was. Mötley Crüe was having their first concert in years and peoples expectations were high.

“Last I heard from him was he was looking around the place with Y/N.” Tommy said “Maybe he finally got the balls to fuck her!” Mick scoffed at his vulgar comment.

“I mean they have been best friends for so long and the romantic tension between them is fucking killing me, man!” Vince said. “Honestly I hope Nikki and her ARE fucking.”

Mick, very clearly unimpressed, rolled his eyes. “Can we just focus on finding him please? Vince you check the dressing rooms, Tommy you come with me.”

“Aww man why do I have to go with you?” Tommy complained.

“Because you’re fuckin incompetent and you’ll probably break something.” Mick replied, irritation still lingering in his words.

Nikki and you were in fact together. Not doing anything inappropriate, just two best friends sitting in silence, backstage in a little room you found. Nikki was drunk out of his mind and you hadn’t drank a single thing. You were gonna have to drive the boys back to their hotel anyway, so it’s a good thing your will was strong.

You had only been sitting together for a good 15 minutes but the awkward silence was driving you insane. In the corner of the room the was a small record player which was currently playing a Twisted Sister song, and even that wasn’t enough to lighten the atmosphere.

“Sooo Y/N” Nikki finally spoke up, words slurred, barley audible. “How’s it with whatsisname? You guys break up yetttt?”

“No Nikki we’re still together.” You said bluntly. He had been trying to get you and your boyfriend to break up for ages, practically since you first introduced him to him. Why? Why did he care so much? Your boyfriend was a great guy so why did Nikki hate him so much? It just didn’t make any sense.

“Awhhh damnnnn you two should totallyyy end it…” He said, a crooked smirk across his face.

“I don’t get why you care so much man, he’s not a bad person.”

“Ooookay well you don’t know THAAAT. Plus I’d be waaay better than that fuckin pussy.” What.

“What do you mean by that Nikki?” You asked, a look of concern appearing. Nikki scooted closer to you on the couch you two were sitting on. He didn’t touch you or try to touch you, but the closeness and the uncomfortable eye contact was enough to make you want to look away and get you just slightly flustered.

“I meannnn I’d be a way better boyfriend then whatever the fuck you’re dating. I’m 100 times cooler and hotter.” What the fuck was he suggesting? Calm down Y/N, he’s drunk. He’s not implying anything he just needs some water and some rest.

“Uhhh I don’t know…” You mumbled, looking down and fidgeting with your sleeves.

“Oh come onnnn admit I’m waaaay better than that bitch, he’s a boring lameass.” He want boring! Sure he wasn’t as risk taking, impulsive, dramatic or dangerous as Nikki, but he was domestic and kind. Even if it did get annoying sometimes “Y/N?”

“I mean, well, I don’t know?? Why are you saying all this?”

“‘m must tryna get you to see how boring your relationship with that fucker isssss you should just date me insteaddddd ya know.” Wait what. Your head shot up and you looked directly at Nikki. What he fuck was he saying? You didn’t want to ask but you were curious.

“Umm… Uh…” Was all you managed to get out. Now it’s not that you were uncomfortable, you just secretly hoped the rest of the band would come looking for Nikki and drag him out of the room because you couldn’t handle all this. Yeah you were uncomfortable as hell.

“Oh Y/N can you not fuckin seeeee? I fuckin like you.” There it was. But it wasn’t true. Even if you wanted it to be true it wasn’t. He was wasted, beyond fucked. Nikki needed to get on stage in 10 minutes, you had no time for this. You had to admit, it saddened you a little bit. Deep down, your relationship with your current boyfriend WAS boring. He WAS a lameass. You honestly would have much preferred a cooler more adventurous boy like Nikki. To be even more honest, you would have just preferred Nikki in general. But again, he was drunk as fuck and you couldn’t take his word for it. Nor could you take advantage of it. You didn’t know for sure that he was being serious. “Please Y/N cmonn-”

Footsteps.. and the door swung open

“FUCK THERE YOU TWO ARE!”

“Oh heya Vince.” You waved, secretly relived he was here to take the bassist away from you finally.

“YOU GUYS I FOUND EM” Vince yelled to who you assumed was the rest of the band.

“Awh you guys weren’t fucking?” Tommy said, with a fake disappointed tone and face. “Damn I was rooting for you two! Now cmon shitface we got a crowd of minds to blow.”

They all got up to leave, Nikki making a sad expression and eye contact for a brief moment. It made your heart hurt. You could’ve handled that situation better. Just before Tommy left, you grabbed his arm to talk to him.

“What did you mean by that Tommy?” You asked curiously.

“By what?” He asked.

“That you were… rooting for us?”

“Well, I mean, cmon Y/N you two clearly have the hots for each other, especially Nikki. Dude all he talks about is you!” You blushed a little at the thought. Maybe he was telling the truth… “And plus you guys are literally perfect for each other. Don’t you wanna live that rockstar’s girlfriend life?”

He did have a point, dating Nikki would be a nonstop adventure. It would be like a movie! It made you happy to even think about it. Just the thought of him gave you butterflies.

“Tommy, Nikki told me something just before Vince came in.”

“Oh yeah? What was it?”

“He told me that.. well that he liked me.” Tommy’s eyes lit up, like he had been betting money on the hope that you and Nikki would end up together. “BUT HE WAS DRUNK AS FUCK! So… I don’t know if he was being serious or the alcohol just got him.”

Tommy’s expression got slightly sadder, like he was more disappointed that you even dared THINK Nikki wasn’t being genuine. He put a hand on your shoulder and gave you a pat on he back.

“Well you know what they say, drunk words are just sober thoughts.” And with that he walked out the door to catch up with the others.

The concert was amazing, opening with Looks That Kill and ending with Home Sweet Home. A perfect, perfect night. And while you were singing and dancing the whole time, that little part of your brain couldn’t stop thinking about what Nikki had said, and what Tommy had added.

“Dude all he talks about is you!”

Waking up to a hotel room full of smelly, hungover, groaning dudes wasn’t fun, but someone had to make them breakfast since they were physically incapable of doing it themselves. They all slowly came out of their rooms and sat down on the couch. And you couldn’t help but slightly avoid Nikki out of embarrassment. Not look at him, or say good morning to him. And he took notice of that. After the boys had finished eating (it took them a good hour) they all waddled back to their rooms to go back to sleep. All except Nikki. Well shit. I mean you couldn’t really escape somewhere, he’d probably follow you. You just leaned against the countertop nervously and watched him stand next to you out of the corner of your eye. You covered your face with your hair to avoid attention but we all know that never works.

“So how trashed was I last night?” He asked.

“Uhhh you were pretty drunk yeah,” You answered, looking away.

“Did I uh, say anything interesting?” Did he remember? He didn’t sound genuinely confused… more like he was trying to get you to admit something. Like a parent trying to get their kid to rat themself out.

“Nope.” You bluntly responded. You did NOT have to remind him of what he said last night.

“Hmmmm are ya sure? I distinctly remember saying somethin about you…” Uhh shit… what were you supposed to say? “I know you remember Y/N, and frankly I’m shocked I remember it too but I fuckin meant it.”

No he didn’t.

He didn’t mean it.

He’s messing with you.

But what Tommy said…

Oh fuck…

“Y/N I fuckin like you. And I don’t give a shit about your douchey boyfriend alright? I’ve seen the way you act around him now. Bored out of your mind, wishing you were with someone else.”

“Yeah alright fine, I’ve lost interest in him. And I DO wish I was with…someone else. He’s boring as hell and I’d much rather be with someone who actually enjoys what life has to offer and doesn’t just want to settle down. Happy?” You blurted. And you didn’t mean for it all to come out. You had never said that about the man you always called the love of your life. But Nikki’s words were driving you mad. And it all overflowed and spilled out of you.

Nikki, still standing next you, lowered his face right next to your ear, where you could feel his breath on your neck, sending shivers down your spine. And he whispered, “And would that ‘someone else’ be someone like me?” Yes. Was that… not obvious? Or was he still trying to get you to admit it.

“Maybe.” You said turning your head in embarrassment.

“It’s a yes or no baby cmon.” He coaxed. God why did he have to be like this.

“Yes. It would be someone like you.”

“Would the someone like me be… me?” God fucking damnit stop it!

“Yes.” You mumbled, hoping he wouldn’t hear it.

“Mmm what was that? Couldn’t quite hear you.”

“YES FUCK I WOULD RATHER YOU THAN HIM NIKKI, I WOULD RATHER YOU MORE THAN ANYONE, GOD.”

And no one was more shocked than Nikki. Not even you. Though keeping his cool, his heart was racing and his hands were already feeling sweaty.

He turned around to face you and put his hand on your jaw, forcing you to look up at him. To look into those beautiful dark eyes.

“Been waiting a long time for those words to come out of your mouth darling.” Before you could reply he pulled you into a deep kiss. One hand on your waist and the other moving to the back of your neck to keep you up. Despite the shock and adrenaline rushing through you, you closed your eyes and placed your hands on his chest, enjoying the moment while it lasted. And once you had both pulled away, you were a blushing mess. Had you really just done that? Kissed your best friend of many years? You didn’t want to ruin the relationship you two had but now more than ever you could not deny the feelings you had for him. But it just felt… right. Like you had just found the last piece of a puzzle.

You were silent for a moment, not being able to comprehend what was happening. Sure it was just a kiss but the tension made it billions and billions of times more dangerous and exciting.

“So how about we go and tell that little boyfriend of yours some news hmm?”

2019 is almost over, and it's time for

The Dazzling Pink Precure were supposed to be handling the ceremony, but then unexpectedly had to go back to the drawing board for some design tweaks, so...

This is the magical girl media that has been consumed here on Mahou-furbies this year!

Other notable stuff that happened over the year:

Before going to the awards, let’s say a few words about the artistic activity here at Mahou-furbies.

The "practise figure drawing while Precure is playing" project still continues! The experience is surreal, with Precure on one half of the screen, and a nude model with a 60 second timer on the other!

Honestly I don't see any progress myself but having watched roughly 3 seasons this way and 20 drawings per episode that's 1000 sketches, that has to count for something? I hope?

The Chibi project started and continues! According to my statistics that is 170 characters and 504 drawings (different outfits) total! Out of the 63 Main Cures (incl. Healin’ Good) 40 are finished.

The Magical Girl Fusion drawing happened this year! It is the second most popular tumblr post I’ve ever made, and it still continues making its rounds, occasionally showing up as the most popular post of the day in my activity! It’s one of the few posts of mine I really like, I think it has both a good concept and execution, so I’m happy that it has received attention.

After the Fusion post, another chibi series has launched and these even smaller chibis have invaded all three of my other active blogs, and there is more to come to this blog as well... They’re cuter than the main chibi series, but the details aren’t as visible so they’re not going to completely displace it.

And then there’s of course the Dazzling Pink Precure, which has received outstanding support right from the beginning!

It is kind of amazing that whenever I post about them I often get some kind of feedback, when I think it’s more common that artists struggle to get recognition for their OCs while art of canon stuff gets more responses. So I’m very flattered by the interest they’ve received! And they have even been nominated for this year’s fancure awards (thanks to whoever nominated them) which is just incredible. The changes they are going through right now hopefully won’t have a meaningful impact on that since I only plan to alter some of the pink shades or make one skirt hem a little different or stuff like that, and the main concept should stay the same.

I also find it entertaining that Cure Fluffy who was created to be a parody of the spotlight-hogging pink protagonists got upstaged by an all-pink team.

But that’s it for the art life of Mahou-furbies, now let's start with the awards!

Best henshin design goes tooooo

Tetty Goodgripp from MagiPro Black! I haven’t read it yet (I’m still at Jokers or Aces, whichever was the middle of the trilogy) but I do love this design.

Then, best team henshin design is

Fresh Precure! Though to be fair not a lot of teams this year... But a win is a win and I did rank them #1 in my Precure Team design ranking a few years ago.

Next, best powerup look is

Also Fresh! bonus points for implementing the powerup in a more interesting way than "new once-per-episode stock footage sequence in the latter part of the season" or "thing we see in the final episode for two and a half minutes"

The award for Best civilian design goes to

Cure Cosmo! Surprising for this monochrome a design, but the simple and stylish look is just so good.

Best school uniform is

Magical Girl Site! ...I know the common opinion of this series and kind of agree with it, but I just like the basic black sailor uniform ok?

Then best hair. That is

Cure Star’s ridiculous twintails! I love them!

Best magical item goes to

The Clear Cards! Sakura’s cards are already a fun item, and I like the transparent visuals.

Best Henshin scene is

Cure Passion’s transformation! I love the part where she sinks into water and the one where her earrings and tiara appear.

Best fan creation witnessed in 2019 goes to

Banban! Hero Precure by @aceaeite! Great designs that work well both individually and as a team, and the designs are recognisable as both Precure and superheroes! Also I love the detail of the little sister not fighting with the rest of the girls and instead having her own adventures.

Then, Best relationship goes to

Love & Setsuna from Fresh! I don’t ship them, but I like them as sisters and Setsuna finding a loving family after all she had gone through was one of the best elements of the season.

The Best mascot of the year was

Chito from Flying Witch! I don’t really consider this kind of witch series to be a part of the magical girl genre, but it’s more fun to have more works on this list so... Anyway I don’t usually care much for mascots but Chito was cute and not annoying.

Best supporting character (i.e. not one of the magical girls) is

Kaoru-chan from Fresh! At times his existence felt a bit superfluous, but he was funny and it was nice that the girls had a supportive adult around to give advice.

Best visuals goes to

The colour palette in Cosmo’s intro! The use of colour really stood out to me. Not a lot of outstanding animation this year it seems...

Next, Best audio!

The ending for Invaders of the Rokujouma! The song puts me in a happy place (and I also love the little logos for all the girls).

Then, Best scene is

Seconds 0:05 - 0:10 of Cure Cosmo’s attack! It just has such good lighting and music! (don’t care for the rest of the attack...)

Then, the Innovation award for a work that did something cool and new for the genre!

Honestly I don’t think I can give this to anything this year... Sakura Hime kaden had an interesting historical setting and Machikado Mazoku’s concept of having the friendly villain be the main character was amazing, but neither did anything worthwhile with these ideas so I don’t want to award them... Better luck next year!

Then a special award! While it would be all kinds of entertaining to also pick the worst hair, worst henshin etc I thought I’d focus on the positive. However we can’t get through this post without a little bit of bitching, so next is one Golden Mana Award for one thing that didn’t go quite the way I wanted in some way. And that isssss

The henshin designs in TMM Au Lait! I love the original TMM designs but these new boys apparently have no intention of even remotely following the old design ideas. Pah!

Then the final awards. Best character of the year is

Cure Milky! Love her more serious and down-to-earth personality, she has a cute design in both civilian and henshin form, her voice is lovely and with a unique origin she brings some fresh air to Precure!

And finally, Best series of 2019 goes to

The first half that I’ve seen of Star Twinkle Precure! I haven’t seen all of it yet, but what I have has been a surprisingly positive experience, with a lot of great characters, exploring the space theme and changing the usual formula even a little. Hopefully the quality will remain strong!

Art-wise I hope to be able to complete all main Cures for the Chibi series (though that also depends on if everyone’s 5-star-card dress will be revealed). But once they are finished there will be compilation posts, and I’m hoping to have some kind of bracket polling thing where we can all vote for the best 5-star-card dress.

Then there’s the Dazzling Pink Precure, for who I’m currently trying to think of a story and will hopefully be able to put something out.

You are demanding people.

But ask and you shall receive.

Let’s talk about Simon’s childhood. This is big and obvious one. He grew up in care homes, orphanages, and he wasn’t ever adopted. Obviously when he turned eleven/twelve (I’m not checking) he wasn’t able to get adopted because he went to Watford and a different home every summer. But aside from Simon’s obvious neglect (which I will get to later) can we talk about how badly he ws treated in homes? At the beginning of the book, Penny talks about how terrible Simon looks after he comes back from care homes. About how he always looks too thin and red. When he talks to Baz, Baz asks him if he ever believed in Father Christmas and Simon says no, that some care homes would have someone dress up as Father Christmas, but no he didn’t believe as a kid. And that just makes me unexplainably sad? Like Simon was completely robbed of a normal childhood? And he didn’t even have to be? Because Davy brought him into the world like that and then abandoned him? BUUUUT That’s something we’ll get into later. This is about little Simon. SO SECOND OF ALL—

Simon has communication issues. Simon has communication issues. SIMON HAS COMMUNICATION ISSUES. Why don’t we ever talk about this? Simon says it happens to kids like him in care. “Their parents never talk to them so they never learn how.” Simon never learned how to talk properly. Which led to him being emotionally inarticulate and we ignore this? Like I know we all love to talk about how much of a disaster Simon is but do we ever talk about why? No. SIMON HAS COMMUNICATION ISSUES BECAUSE NOBODY TAUGHT HIM HOW. Simon isn’t dense or stupid and I hate how the fandom treats him like that because he just has communication problems. This is the boy that said he didn;t see the reason is asking for what he wanted when he could just take it and how in care, he’d spent the summer “kicking walls and anyone who looked at me the wrong way”. As a human who, like Simon, is not good at speaking and with manners because of the people who raised them, Simon’s characterization in this way was really important to me and I feel like it’s important that we talk about it. LIke when Simon first started Watford, he felt bad because he wasn’t any good at talking and Possibelf would give him speech lectures that the MAge would sit in on and Simon never wanted to disappoint him.

Simon and The Mage. There is so much to this part. I hate The Mage. With all my heart, I hate him. He’s a terrible dad, terrible person. Like he created Simon, because he told Lucy who better than them to “raise our savior” but you didn’t raise him, sir. You abandoned him. Then picked him up later and acted like he was defective and needed fixing. The thing is, The Mage knew, didn’t he? That Simon was his son when he found him? I mean, I don’t think that it’s ever specified, but he must have known. He basically relieved himself of all the responsibilities of parenting Simon but kept the benefits of Simon being his. The Mage used him throughout the whole book, Simon’s whole life. But what’s worse, is Simon trusted him so much. He was loyal to The Mage. The Mage was the first person to give Simon any kind of purpose, but also to be kind to Simon in any way. So obviously Simon was going to trust him and be loyal to him because he gave Simon’s life an explanation and a chance for his life to mean something and Simon wasn’t going to hesitate to take it. Of course, it only got worse because everyone else he cared about hated The Mage, but even though Simon didn’t see The Mage as his father, The Mage was still an important part of his life that he didn’t want to let down. And Simon probably felt like disobeying or questioning The Mage would make Simon seem disloyal or ungrateful and he didn’t want that. Simon wanted to be enough for The Mage and felt like all he was good for was working for The Mage. But The Mage was just so bad to Simon. And the Simon says spell thought the only way to end The Mage hurting Simon was for The Mage to be dead. But imagine how Simon felt? Whether he realized what that meant or not (although knowing that killing The MAge was the only way to get him to stop hurting Simon is worse) he still killed his mentor. Well, he didn’t literally kill him, but if he hadn’t said what he said, The Mage would not have died like that. Simon obviously felt guilty for it because he killed his only mentor/father figure. Like that’s traumatic all on its own. But alas, Simon is full of lots of other trauma.

Simon’s inferiority complex? Should I call it that? Basically, Simon never felt good enough. He knew he had to be the savior but he never felt like he was doing it right. And everyone kept reminding him of what a fluke he was. He knew he was a terrible boyfriend to Agatha, but he felt like that was on him and didn’t break up with Agatha because that wasn’t “her fault.” He never thought about things because he was always going to do what he was told to. Simon felt worthless without his magic because he thought it was all he was really good for. He thought Baz only loved him because he was powerful. Simon felt like the whole purpose of his life was to do what everyone else wanted from him and never considered himself. Related to this isssss

Simon and Baz. So, first of all, I know we say poor Baz because he was in love with Simon who hated him and yes, I agree. But let’s also say poor Simon because his first year at Watford, when he was young and fragile and cried about a lot, he tried to be friendly with Baz and Baz took joy in tormenting him. And yeah we all talk about how paranoid Simon was with Baz, but Simon probably had trust issues anyway so the boy he was living with who was already the heir of the rival family threatening him all the time would probably cause Simon to not trust him very much. But what does all this have to do with Simon’s inferiority issues you ask? Well, I’m glad you asked.

Simon’s internalized homophobia/heteronormativity. Yes, you heard me. This isn’t a glaring issue, but I feel like it’s a strong undertone and it stays with me a lot. Simon was obviously under a lot of pressure to be the Chosen One that everyone wanted from him. He dated Agatha because they “made sense” together. Hating Baz was what was expected of them. Simon was just trying to go along with what made sense. He didn’t have to think or worry about his feelings because he knew things with Agatha made sense and he liked being with her. He didn’t need or want to open up to even himself because that could have meant disappointing people. When he leaves Baz’s with Penny and Agatha, he starts to panic about what Agatha would say. “You’re not even gay. And he’s not even alive. And that’s not even the worst part of this idea. What would The Mage say?” This one could be self-projection but my friends agree with me that internalized homophobia was a thing with Simon so thoughts?

Simon and magic. This is kind of a broad and straightforward one but it is important. Simon was in love with magic. It felt like the best part of his life, his reason for existence. But magic also brought all the problems in Simon’s life and no matter how much he loved it, he had to lose his magic in order to save everyone else’s. And that’s just really unfair to Simon that he spent his whole life surrounded by magic and with magic only to lose all of his and his personal connection to the magical world.

Conclusion: Simon’s trauma is somewhat downplayed by the fandom and he deserves better. He also deserves major healing in Wayward Son. Thanks for coming another one of my TED talks. EDIT: I’ve noticed that this post has a lot fewer notes (like -600) than my similar post about Baz and I feel like that highlights how little attention we pay to Simon’s trauma in favor of Baz’s ☕️

wardrobe:what’s your OC’s style like?

In DA-centric universes Egeire ends up becoming fairly all-or-nothing re: clothing. at the end of the Blight, into Warden-Commanderdom, and to some extent post-Wardenhood, he is either in full armor and weaponry (with some extra flash and ideally some small piece of elfiness in the Awakening period), or when he is completely alone and not paranoid and with people he trusts in a space he feels safe in, he is wearing like comfortable loose-fitting pants and that’s about it.

In more modern AUs Egeire wears more like… practical clothes, probably? flannel and open button-ups over tank tops with sturdy pants and tough boots, whatever clothes have been Gifted to him over the years, annnnnd at-home muscly shirtlessness with loose sweatpants

1. “Arms” - Christina Perri (still p much the First and Most Egeria/Alistair song. being Wardens is one rough thing and then the elven mage and the bastard prince is harder still. it works out in the end, but….)

2. “Retrograde” - James Blake (ouch that isolation and your friends are gone, and your friends won’t come, so show me where you fit. i’ll wait, so show me why you’re strong– i’ll wait, we’re alone now)

4. “Beth’s Theme” (Broadchurch OST) - Ólafur Arnalds(Ria’s canon is just so like…. sad. unintentionally sad. quietly, wordlessly sad.)

wardrobe:what’s your OC’s style like?

DA: a mix of aesthetic robes and practical ones, some with long flowing pieces and embroidered flowers that gradually transition to black dust, wearing her mage blood and magic specialties quite literally on her sleeve, some that are more armor than robe (bc spellsword/arcane warrior) but with elements of robes nonetheless. Dresses more lightly in private for ease of movement, with fur shawls and fine shoes and all. may be talked into some sort of short top + long skirt look by her fawning husband. in private.

Modern: light blouses and either loose-ish pants or long skirts, fond of flower motifs, plenty of like cardigans and soft jackets and things that generally perfect that sweet and trustworthy and caring outward demeanor she wields like empathy made tangible and precise. also has regular graphic tees and jeans for gardening.

Flytter

1. “Little Talks” - Of Monsters And Men (grief is what drives Flytter from home to wrap themself up entirely in their work… for better or worse, despite the best wishes of those who cared about them)

2. “Non-Stop”, “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story”, … - Hamilton the Musical (um excuse me if somebody made a musical about Egeire Mahariel/WAWsquad/The Fifth Blight Hero you fucking know Flytter would be all over that)

3. “Radioactive” - Imagine Dragons (radioactivity… lingering Blight corruption… same difference, right?)

4. “Heavy In Your Arms” - Florence + the Machine (not entirely happy with this pick but struggling to find something for just– that kind of background gnawing of the slow, slow, painful death seeping into their being, the constant pain and the losing fight to the ebb of the corruption and their inability to keep it effectively treated or soothed or just. nesdfds.)

5. “Beyond the Veil” - Lindsey Stirling (trippy instrumentals for recording things and remembering dreams? sure why not. clear Veil joke? woo!)

wardrobe:what’s your OC’s style like?

.DA: robes, again. robes with a focus on complete head-to-toe coverage and not irritating rough patches of skin or what not too much. Something comfortable enough to sleep in. Not really much variety once they lock themself away in Kinloch Hold rebuilt.

Modern: light shirts tied up and semi-professional vests and the ability to quickly create a skirt in any situation when they need to really move in a hurry

Cyrron Mirevas

1. “Enemies” - Shinedown (i didn’t even have to think about this one everyone hates Cyrron except like…. you jay. only you. everyone else goes ‘ew’ or ‘why are his eyes sockets not full of sharp/sharp-ish utensils’ when i bring him up. only you cheer when he shows up or hand him over to tentacle monsters but)

2. “Simple Man” - Lynyrd Skynyrd (and the complete flipside– a simple kind of man, not rushing, revering the gods, settling down with a bondmate and having children… it was the life Cyrron intended to live, not exactly a soft or warm or gentle man by any means, but a simple man. Then he lost everything, and survived Vir Banal’ras, and we have present day Cyrron.)

3. “The Dalish Elves Encampment” - Dragon Age: Origins OST, or something (this is basically a placeholder to state: what do you think super traditional Dalish elf music sounds like? for Ferelden Dalish if you want to get specific maybe. Basically, whatever Traditional Dalish Music is, that is all Cyrron himself cares to listen to. That’s it. He hoards it. maybe even plays an instrument. the world will never know.)

5. “Indestructible” - Disturbed (fitting, since it was on Egeire’s list, and he definitely got that from somewhere. really, Cyrron is indestructible to a point that even upsets himself until all the venom he sank into others finally comes back to flood his veins)

wardrobe:what’s your OC’s style like?

DA: Armor. Sturdy Dalish armor, long updated and cycled through with parts, blades on hand at all times, each meticulously well-kept and menacingly. The only time he’s not in armor is if he’s for some reason in disguise to get closer to someone to kill them.

Modern: ranges from business semi-casual to business ultra-formal and nowhere below that range, at least not for wearing out in the daylight. Cyrron mostly has his crisp dress shirts and pressed black slacks and all that easy “I am wealthy and important and you don’t need to know what I do for a living” class, even despite the clear vallaslin, but he also has a variety of tougher garb and more lowkey clothing for when his real line of work comes calling in the night for a slit throat or a poisoned drink.

Soveliss Liadon

1. “Addicted to Love” - Florence + the Machine (possibly the earliest defining song for my vague thoughts of ‘Soveliss and his feylock patron’. Soveliss insists he knows what he’s doing! He just has to keep his wits around him! … gods, though, he is so lonely.)

2. “Carousel” - Melanie Martinez (have I mentioned Sov is really super doomed? And it’s all fun and games/‘Til somebody falls in love/But you’ve already bought a ticket/And there’s no turning back now)

3. “Believer” - Imagine Dragons, & “Whispers in the Dark” - Skillet (the main brain-chewing songs for fiendlock!au Soveliss)

4. “Dust Bowl Dance” and “Broken Crown” - Mumford & Sons (hypothetical #mood for potential Angry parts of potential Soveliss character/story arc “You haven’t met me, I am the only son.”)

5. “A Martyr for My Love for You” - The White Stripes (i’m just saying if anybody else dies before we finish this adventure Sov is gonna start getting real antsy about forming attachments to normal, mortal people)

(a ghost monk floats through Soveliss’ room as Sov puts up a bard band poster up in his room in the monastery like “soooooovelllllissssss whaaaat isssss thissss” and teenage Sov is just Instantly Teenage Annoyed “MUSIC, JUST LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, IS CHANGING, DAD” (all the monks in the monastery are Dad sov has like 2 dozen dads it’s a time))

D&D: Soveliss at the moment generally has his greyscale Acolyte of Kelemvor robes/garb, some dark leather armor, maybe some shiny beads or baubles, and his gorgeous blond hair (it is probably literally enchanted t b h), buuuut he has no real exposure to like….. choice of clothing let alone fashion. idk we’ll see if aub ever gets us somewhere cool where I can get him a truly art-worthy outfit or if he dies first i guess.

Grey Surana

mixtape: 5 songs that describe your OC(s) or songs they themselves would like

1. “Stray Italian Greyhound” - Vienna Teng (whoops first song is a Grey/Tamaris song. but: Grey is every bit the tongue-tied hopeless romantic that Egeire is, except he somehow works himself up about it even harder bc in a way Grey can be summed up as Eg But Extra (i love this song tho))

2. “I of the Storm” - Of Monsters And Men (wh o o ps it’s another Grey/Tam song. but it is also a good sort of song for Grey’s general insecurities, still carried over if reflected differently from Egeire’s. not measuring up. not being loved. feeling trapped. are you really gonna love me when i’m gone? are you really gonna need me when i’m gone? i fear you won’t; i fear you don’t)

3. “In My Sleep” - Mystery Skulls (can’t find a good video but you can’t do this like i do/i fucking wrote this in my sleep is just. 1. it mostly inspired an au. 2. take Egeire’s mild peacock tendencies and turn them up to fucking 11 and you might start to approach Grey levels of pride and showboating. tempted to put “Magic” on this list but just. it’s so great. just go look it up.)

4. “Through Glass” - Stone Sour (something quieter. bringing back that feeling of isolation from Ria, but a bit more self-imposed– putting up walls of glass to keep a distance from everything and ending up sitting alone inside his own head, which really could account for a lot of his doubts. a negative feedback loop of sorts. but he is so used to it.)

5. “Work Song” - Hozier / “Iris” - Goo Goo Dolls / “Rather Be” - Clean Bandit (just some more love songs for the hopeless romantic bc I’m p sure I’ve spent like 8 hours on this ask and I’m dead now)

DA: so fashionable. whether he’s the Circle Ambassador or the Warden-Commander, Grey is dedicated to keeping up with trends and edging out ahead of them where he can. It’s a careful balance to keep, neither being so compliant as to be invisible or stepping so far out of line that he’s branded “outsider“ again, but he loves it. Grey is all about politics, wealth, luxury, prestige– whatever the Circle and the Chantry wanted to deny him, he will take, one way or another.

Modern: so fashionable. if it’s In he is at least looking into getting his hands on it, if he doesn’t already have it. as the Circle is traded out for more like…. slicksharp white collar big business laddering-climbing type ambition, so too are robes traded for suits, and so some manner of dress shirt + jacket/blazer/etc + slacks/dress pants/etc becomes his norm. Whether he’s climbing or charming or sleeping his way to the top, he enjoys surrounding himself with luxury and learning how to take advantage of it.Is still a sweetheart who looks nice in lace though.
