listen im not trying to be a hater i just think tf prime represents something of the moment in time it was made and i dislike it a lot. it clearly is trying to be like the bad movies, stylistically and character wise. it loses its own identity in trying to make a cartoon out of that concept, because it cant.

its full of so many words that it tries to give meaning to, all being names or objects from previous shows, even using song lyrics from the 86 movie, while its central conflict becomes about politics it barely understands. trying to make me care if the decepticons or autobots press the magic button that will restore their home planet because whoever does so will have a POLITICAL edge when the other cybertronians return home (they never do)

it barely grasps what the source of the war was. what starts as revolution against an oppressing class became a war between two guys with differing beliefs on how to achieve justice. but when the difference in their politics is literally 'i will get justice even if it resorts to violence' vs 'i dont believe in violence' and then you HAVE A WAR SO BAD IT CAUSES YOUR PLANET TO DIE you need to grapple with the consequences of that. the characters should bring that up. the vibes between optimus and megatron should be more familiar than they are. like a magneto and professor x thing, a former brotherhood turned sour, but knowing each other better than anyone despite their opposing views.

(rambled on for a while so cut)

in other shows we're left wondering what the history is, seeing these two titans who have been fighting for millions of years, we rarely see any specifics and so we're left to make our own conclusion based on the relationship we see. here its more about making the lore heavy than it is about how the characters back story relate to how they act.

to get into how the characters as a whole interact it seems less interested in making characters seem like real people than the g1 cartoon, which by all accounts was just a silly toy commercial. there is no sense of brotherhood among the autobots and no real love for earths living creatures outside of these 3 children (and the us government). none of the autobots feel like characters, they have no real personality or individual quirks (besides ratchet) and optimus most of all feels like he is just here to stand in the corner of a scene and give a good soundbite line. something vague that somewhat relates to whats being said, it feels like 'well we have peter cullen lets let him say something cool'. style over substance.

meanwhile the decepticons despite being so bloodthirsty and brutal, constantly forget and forgive each other for literally attempting to kill each other every episode. in one episode megatron tells starscream if he doesnt find him worthy of rejoining the decepticons that he will kill him. then we see him watch all of starscreams betrayals from over the course of the entire show, we see no reason he should ever forgive starscream and then at the end he simply.... doesnt kill him. he forgives him and keeps him around. this is supposed to be the scary bloodthirsty megatron who was a gladiator and has no problem with violence, yet he lets the character who stole victory after victory from him live. it makes no sense in this 'the more serious show'. but then it works out cuz starscream just stops being who he was and then just genuinely follows megatron. so. idk i guess the goal was scare him. thats the end of that whole plotline then.

starscream specifically seems too goofy here because he constantly fails at everything. theres a part of how you make this character work thats fully missing here, and thats his sense of self preservation. he doesnt have one. he makes decisions that make no sense, he betrays everyone and walks into traps set by them despite knowing they want him dead just to make him as pathetic as possible. when he loses his t cog its especially apparent because he just. went to the guys that wanted a t cog after destroying bumblebees and hes like "whoopsie oh well" and then is surprised they turn on him and take his. comparing this to the g1 version and saying 'this one makes more sense' kills me. it doesnt. g1 knows when to fold. thats why it feels like knockout feels more like starscream to me, hes the only one calculating and staying quiet until he sees the power shift.

the show is frustrating to watch because it just seems like characters waiting around doing nothing but reacting to things, but in the meantime theyre not really being characters at all, theyre not being enjoyable or lovable to watch outside of their names reminding you 'they are iconic IP, please buy these toys.'

and they dont look very good either, clearly trying to mesh together the overly complicated ugly mess that is the b*yverse with cartoon proportions. specifically anyone designed in that first 5 episode. the designs are all top heavy, their faces so flat mouths so plain, but everyone has these very detailed eyebrows to emote with. in arcees case she even gets detailed eyelashes.

and dont get me started on the 'arcee cant be pink cuz thats a girl colour and shes a girl but shes not a GIRL' problem. you put pink on her as her secondary colour. you put pink IN HER EYES. she has a skirt. she shows off an insane amount of robot midriff (somehow, cuz they painted her like that) her flat face for some reason has lips (which dont even look good, like warped metal around her mouth). so are you trying to design a girl character or not? be fucking honest about it. youre both embarrassed of pink arcee while also doing the same thing, making her small making her clearly the feminine one. and narratively ohhhh dont get me started (also this show decided to keep saying two wheeler in a way that meant girl and thats......ugh)

basically i just think when you try so hard to be so serious you end up being sillier than things that know theyre silly. if youre embarrassed of the media that came before you why even make it?

oh right. brand synergy. to advertise your new streaming network. to show off what cartoons can REALLY be like now. SUPER SERIOUS. SUPER CINEMATIC.

but i think it just didnt say anything about anything. it didnt represent anything. didnt make me care about anyone or any plight. any stakes it tried to add didnt matter. didnt do anything new, didnt really understand anything that came before. threw out ideas stolen from better shows. threw a new paintjob on hotrod, called him smokescreen, but then didnt have the balls to kill off optimus to make that character matter. kinda represents a lot of what i mean just in that regard alone.

i just think ive seen a lot of these shows now and this one has made me the most mad, cuz it is so 2010, its so cynical and mean spirited, its so lazy and cash grabby, its full of in name only references to make you point at the screen and go I KNOW THAT THING! without knowing why you ever cared about that thing.

and while im not trying to say its the worst one objectively (i dont rank shit like that) i am saying at least when it comes to something the masses would consider a 'worse show' like energon or bm or rid, at least all of those have their own identity and theyre not pretending to be something theyre not. theyre not trying to be cleverer than they are.

basically the people who wrote this are the people that wrote the first transformers movie, and that is where this plague of creating soulless reboot/remake/sequels to your favorite nostalgic media that hollywood has been stuck in ever since started, and you can TELL.

oh my god and the whole thing w/the golden disc saying ‘sounds of earth...’ ruth and i saw that inscription earlier in s2 and ruth was like ‘oh isnt that a real thing, they sent out the Voyager probe into space w/a disc that has different sounds from nature and music and stuff on it called ‘sounds of earth” AND THEN THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT THIS WAS...

i thought that was so cool, the fact that the golden disc could basically be used to look into the future...and then alter the future accordingly

its also super cool that the writers used something from REAL LIFE in the story in such a way. like, thats cool as hell, and idk much media that does so

especially bc beast wars is one of very few transformers series to not include any human characters (discounting the monkey pre-humans), so this is a really cool way to involve humanity without having any recurring human cast members

when dinobot nearly committed seppuku...uhm jesus bro

and then when he fought off all the predacons ALONE, and then FUCKING DIED...that was legit sad as hell...like he kept almost going into stasis lock but kept overriding it which was gonna kill him and AUGH

the transmutate ep HHHHH where to even start

ok so transmutate...the whole story was just fucking tragic but also. TERRIFYING...

like this ep gave me the same vibes that i got when i watched the movie ET in like 4th grade and got scared as hell 

like, i am a Full Grown Adult and NOT ONLY THAT i had a job in a cadaver lab for like 5 YEARS so i generally am not easily scared but holy SHIT this episode legit unsettled me liiiike

the design and animation (and voice acting) on transmutate were like....terrifying oh my god. like, the way she(?) moved was so scary, with the slow movements and just, everything w/the neck/head....AUGH

and that like, pained screech she did ???? that was just horrible oh my god

anyways literally ruth and i spent this entire ep just like, cowering and yelling out of fear lmao. i went outside in the dark later and i swear i saw transmutate in the shadows. terrifying

in terms of the plot of the ep, that shit was fucked up. it basically amounted to silverbolt and rampage fighting over transmutate w/little regard for transmutate as a person, and ending w/her dying. which was fucked btw

and the fact that everyone was like ‘oh yea transmutate basically doesnt count as an alive sentient being’ was messed up bc they came to that conclusion very quickly and with only a small amount of data....messed up. also messed up is how the maximals suggested putting transmutate in like, a medically induced coma basically, bc she was a freak of nature. which may be true but STILL, that probably violates some ethical laws. arent yall supposed to be the good guys?!

also rampage trying to befriend and save transmutate was sad...especially knowing his circumstances w/megatron and stuff. just Ls all around

Or is it 28? I cant recall well when was that. Our story was not actually that long. Hence why i'm so at my dead end to understand as to why it affects me for so long, so much. Anyway, that's not the point.

I'm now 29. I do feel old. I already feel old much earlier than this. But recently, I think I love getting old.

Why do people connote getting old badly? Well, me too. Sometimes.

(Actually 29 is not old. Even 30s are not old. We're in our optimus prime age! Physically speaking, i was more comot back then. I'm a late bloomer in all aspects of my life. Only recently I receive more attention hiksss)

I think we're afraid of getting old because we're afraid of not living up to what we 'should already' become. But who set the rules and timeline; if not social construct, if not social expectations, or worse, if not unnecessary comparison. Are we living down, then?

Unless we really do, then we should feel bad lah. But that bad feeling must not be the end, but just a push. It's good that we feel bad; that means we're not complacent. We know we should be in better place.

To say that I know who I really am now is a misstatement. To say that I reach the culmination of who I should/could become is wrong too. But this is the part where I love about becoming older.

I think I am more firm in myself than I used to when I was younger. Many things that used to bother me, no longer do. Or if they still do, I'm learning new perspective, learning to handle it better. Shedding old skin, re-inventing new self.

Doesnt matter what other people think or see. Itu dah second layer. What matters first is how I perceive myself and my life. But also to learn not to be too caught up in my head jugak lah. Learning to draw the line etc.

I remember back then I really cared a lot about how people perceive me, although i can be oblivious sometimes lol. Yeah, self-contradict is my middle name. But i really dont care much now unless you're someone whose judgement I trust and hold in high regard. And back then i was bad at discerning whose to hold highly, and now i think i'm learning better, taking more time to observe rather than just quickly place people on pedestal just bcs they portray certain image.

Growth happens through time. So we cannot help to have those milestones only with increase in time; which is increase in age.

So yeah sometimes I think I'm enjoying my age now better compared to when I was younger. Old is gold; but just make sure to get wiser while older, then it will be an enjoyable process.

favorite thing about them he is probably one of my favourite "non regular" interpretations of optimus ever. to make a guy who is normally the old and knowledgeable leader of autobots just some guy who is still learning is sooo good. and they play it so well. im also a huge sucker for any time an optimus is allowed to make mistakes and be filled with rage and theres actual repercussions for this. more of a general show thing but the relationships he carries with his team and other bots in general is sooo ahuuuu (crying sobbing breaking the windows)

least favorite thing about them i will say as much as im a fan of what i said, i do think they shouldve perhaps pushed it a little farther. i love the scene where he snaps under stress and yells at his team! but i think it couldve gone farther, maybe having optimus and team forced to learn more trust in the other again. i get its a show for kids, so all talk wouldnt have been great. i guess what im saying is i just think they really couldve benefited from more episodes to delve into the whole "hes just some guy forced to deal with all of this" thing. analysis about how no one interprets him correctly in universe and out of universe etc etc. specifically in a post megatron defeat context i wouldve loved to see them push optimus and everyone realize hes just some guy when he snaps, not some holy figure who was held at that standard because he brought the allspark home and defeated their enemy singlehandedly (although, he did do all of that, i suppose.)

favorite line can i count the whole scene from return of the headmaster where optimus first finds sentinels head as a line. i love that exchange so much. who doesnt love optimus completely breaking character to cackle wildly at sentinel and then tease him. if i cant, then i do think two of my other favourites have to be one from later in that episode and one from decepticon air. first one when hes fighting henry masterson, he says "oh yeah, im so LEET!" and optimus responds "oh yeah? well, i have no idea what that means!" with so much confidence. the second is optimus crawling around in a vent going "suuure, transwarp me on to the ship, rescue my old buddy from a bunch of decepticooons, itll be fuuun!" very sarcastically as if he wasnt the one who demanded to be transwarped on to that ship

brOTP not really a "bro"tp but one of my favourite platonic relationships optimus has is with ratchet. i love how they interact and how they both try to get the other to talk about what hurts them, while also trying to dance around their own personal issues. they manage to have a near familial relationship and yet the whole thing is flipped on its head in terms of leadership which makes it a very interesting balancing game. not to talk about the scene where optimus snaps again, but when optimus tells ratchet to take the key from sari and ratchet tries to respond as a friend first and then quietly goes "yes sir" .... 🥺not even mentioning how the rest of that episode is spent with ratchet and optimus talking about how he responded and how RATCHET of all people thinks optimus is going too hard on them.... good god

OTP everyone come point and laugh at the senop shipper i know i know. im a very pro "optimus and sentinel sit down and talk about All Of That at some point" kind of guy. i do think with a lot and i mean a lot of work, one could perhaps even put blackarachnia back there with them. but personally i think baby steps are whats important and just getting ba to be friends with them again is enough. like theres soooo much going on there i would say it would probably be damaging even to try and make things like they were (the tumblr user then realizes hes been speaking with full confidence about the assumption that optimus sentinel and elita were in a poly relationship before archa seven without clarifying at all) but i DO think it would be beneficial for optimus and sentinel to sit down and go "hey, you are the only other person in the world who knows exactly, specifically, what i went through. and while one of us has made new connections and come to peace with himself and the other shut off all connections and is still striving to be the best, we are both now put in this really awkward political position and the longer we sit here the more we both have these negative feelings growing in us for one reason or another." i promise i wont talk too much longer but basically please for the love of god optimus sit down and say "i used to think i wanted to be a hero, a leader, but as they all look at me like im some kind of savior, i realize i just wanted to be treated normally. and now im not ever going to be. im not even sure i want to be magnus." and please for the love of god sentinel sit down and say "you dont want that? you dont want all that power? why? with all that power, you could change all of cybertron to be the best it could be. nothing bad would ever happen again if i was there." not outright saying anything and perhaps even seeming pompous to other people but specifically to optimus he knows exactly why he feels like that. anyways

random headcanon optimus was originally like the smallest bit taller than sentinel and when sentinel realized this he got the most minor, unnoticeable unless you knew, height boosters. somehow, optimus got taller on earth again, perhaps with the reformatting, and upon realizing, sentinel did it again. this is why no one can tell which out of the two of them is taller or if theyre the same height/why it changes episode to episode in universe. maybe even optimus realizes and decides to fuck with him and have ratchet install the same in him. it literally doesnt matter at all in the long run its like 1 real human inch but both of them know. another one just for fun this literally isnt true but i love to imagine on his cybertronian design hes has a literal boob window. like the weird design under the blue glass is his protoform. this is so untrue because we would literally see his spark but i think its funny to imagine him on cybetron tits out while training for the elite guard (FREAKS WHO TREAT OPTIMUS WEIRD DISREGARD THIS I WILL KILL YOU)

Ideas/concept in each Transformers series that you liked that are either written terribly, wasted potential and needed to be written in depth?

Okay, say GO! note: I love most of these shows and most of what I nitpick here isn't to say that I hate what we got + doesnt include RB and RBA

G1: I love Galvatron's and Cyclonus' dynamic and loved how the show was self-aware about the fact that Galvatron was crazy, and I would love to see this written with more depth and getting further into Cyclonus' motivation for staying at Galvs' side Headmasters: It's always about Sixshot- I love him so much but always gotta say that his development only really started in the last four episodes - would have loved it if we had gotten some inclination about his more gentle character before that!

Super-God Masterforce: I am of the opinion that Masterforce is a great show with great writing and great characters and don't have much to talk about here. Anyway, I absolutely adored Godbomber and the entire concept behind him - he's a drone who gets controlled through Ginrai's chokon-power (human energy) and acts whatever Ginrai wants him to do. What I found so nice about him is that he emotes! :D And he does react to other people, even if his reactions are all based on Ginrai's will. He doesn't have a voice, so he has to get his point across in other ways and seeing him do that is a delight ~ It made him feel like a character instead of just a drone with no personality and it would have been so awesome if more detail was put into that. Minerva treated Godbomber like a person and I'd have loved to see more of that!

Victory: There is a lot I loved about this show that just didn't really come into fruition - this post should explain it! Beast Wars: I fucking love Megatron cloning his ex Dinobot to get himself a new henchman, anddüde - wouldn't it have been nice to see it be acknowledged how creepy that is? Maybe get more into the reason why he has this need to clone Dinobot? Megatron obviously wanting his ex back, but his ex wont come back, so he creats a version of his ex that is just what he wants to him to be...weird housewife creepy romance novel style??? Beast Wars 2: Hm, tbh the stuff I liked about this show was well done! Can't think of anything here

Beast Wars Neo: Same as BWII, I just cant think of anything here that I loved that was done badly. The shows are simple! One thing I would have loved to see more of is Big Convoy's past as a lone wolf. We got bits and pieces but a little bit more couldn't hurt!

Beast Machines: I loved almost every idea in this show and somehow none if it was done in a way I truly enjoyed x'D 1. The premise nature vs techno 2. Blackarachnia trying to save Silverbolt 3. The whole concept of using existing sparks for new bodies, creating new people 4. Megatron splitting himself in half 5. Plantformers Apart from the Plantformers, all these were great ideas but the way the show executed them was depressing and weird.

RiD01: You know me people, I fucking love Ultra Magnus and Optimus being brothers in this and I would have given everything for more depth between them! Just a flashback to how they were before Ultra Magnus went JerkMode would have been gold QuQ

Armada: I loved the conclusions at the end, absolutely hated everything before the conclusion tho Energon: Love Shockfleet/Mirage being in fucking love with Galvatron, wish Galvatron had acknowledged it once qvq

Cybertron: Almost the same as Energon - I loved Chromia/Thunderblast having a crush on Megatron and wished they had done something with it. They could have gone full Decepticon Queen with her with evil romance, but Megatron has the same amount of communication and social skill as a brickwall.

TFA: I loved the 2 minutes of Cyclonus and hated that he never showed up again-

Cyber Mission: So, there is this episode in which Bee and Ironhide are sparring and Ironhide saves a flower from being squished under them and is like "we must protect life". Bee says that the flower aint sentient tho, but Ironhide says "this one is."

WHAT THE FUCK DO MEAN A SENTIENT FLOWER EXISTS ON EARTH??? Why to they drop this thing and then never do anything with the concept-!

TFP: I feel like Ultra Magnus is kinda missed potential and wished they'd have done more with him, he could have had great dynamics with the rest, but was just used for Wheeljack angst.

GO!: Man they got this Predaking character (I love Predaking) and he's just so generic...and they didn't even make him bishie and pretty like the original characters for this show qnq

RiD15: I loved Steeljaw but they did him dirty by just never allowing him to be the show's threat! He mostly just got pushed aside and used by other people. (still sexy tho, his german voice be like WOOOOO-)

Prime Wars: I loved the plot of this, loved what they did with Megatron and it was such missed potential to not make him Prime at the end! QnQ It would have fit so much! Nothing against my monkuh Primal, but come on! Megatron was right there-!

Cyberverse: Loved Roddy as leader and was kinda disappointed when he was done after Prime showed up again. My boy deserved at least an award or something.

WFC: You know me, I loved the stuff between Megatron and Magnus, but it is a shame that we just never got to see how they were pre-war. And not just those two, them, Optimus and Elita as well. I like the plot, just wish we got backstory.

ok so my roommate and i were talking about starop bc i love dragging her into my bullshit...but also its her own fault for asking why i ship them jsdlafsf but anyway we came up with some good angsty content 

so anyway to be honest we were detailing a potential animatic jashdlasfjsf but it kinda led to us talking about the story potential of having this cross faction romance and all that like parallels between characters; theyre in a fight and somehow starscream winds up fighting against optimus and he fires a missile at him but misses a little too intentionally and megatron notices and like squints his eyes and gives starscream shit about it later of course bc hes suspicious and tells soundwave to keep a closer eye on him,,,, 

whereas ratchet, in a separate battle, starscream gets shot down by one of the other autobots and optimus just freezes and he wants to run to star and make sure hes ok and it shows on his face and his body language and ratchets pieced things together at this point, he knows Smthn is going on between those two, cuz hes perceptive and he just,, nods at optimus and turns the other way, off to help the others...he pretends he does not see it. 

and knockout knows, hes still a bitch but he and starscream have smthn of a mutual respect for one another, mostly bc breakdown acts as knockouts conscience ajsdhlsff, so while he teases star like “have fun with your boy toy, screamer? ‘,:)” he still like covers for him when megatron is wondering where he is and hes off with optimus. 

but the SPICY parts, so starscream kidnaps bumblebee and fucks him up a good deal, probably as a desperate attempt to get megatron off his back a little, and when optimus and maybe someone else arrives to save him, star grabs bee in a chokehold with his gun pointed at his head and optimus of course is horrified and trying to talk him down telling him he doesnt have to do this and wondering whY hes doing this, and starscream shoots bumblebee in the torso, not killing him but yknow, hes gonna be out for the count for a hot minute, and flees the scene 

so they dont see eachother for a while, they stop having their secret meetings bc optimus is hurt and starscream is in his own emotional turmoil over the situation. before optimus can figure out how he wants to handle the situation, he gets a complaint from fowler whos like “WHY is this goddamn jet ATTACKING random truckers???” bc starscream, ever so smooth, decided the best way to get ops attention was to. tackle him in alt mode apparently. ratchet gives him a look and says “looks like someones trying to get ur attention...” and optimus decides hell try to find star in their usual meeting place. ratchet of course is like, long suffering sigh “i cant stop you optimus...i just hope you know what youre doing. be careful.”

so they meet and starscream tries to act like everything is normal but of course optimus has to address the elephant in the room, and starscream is like “i thought we agreed to not talk about war and factions when we meet..” and optimus is like “starscream, you grievously injured bumblebee. you know why we have to talk about this” it becomes pretty heated, mostly bc starscream is explaining himself and is frustrated at the world and their situation and is ranting. he apologizes and clearly regrets what he did, and optimus, having the spark of a saint, forgives him tho hes still hurt. starscreams still VERY distressed though. they have This exchange:

“starscream...please. come back with me... you wont feel like you have to hurt my friends anymore. we wont have to sneak out in secret...”

“how many times do i have to tell you i CANT optimus! megatron would KILL me!” (he used to claim that he cant abandon this cause hes worked so hard for, but hes since come to realize the original ideas the decepticons were fighting for have been lost to megatrons batshittery.)

“we would protect you-”

“oh, like you protected CLIFFJUMPER?”

his eyes widen as he immediately realizes how royally hes just fucked up, and he can see it in optimus face that hes barely holding back a whole slew of hurt, disappointment, anger. it hurts twice as bad bc we all know WHO killed cliff, but also bc optimus no doubt has that leader complex that causes him to feel like cliffs death was his fault bc he couldnt lead them well enough to prevent it, and STAR knows this, and optimus Knows that star knows this, and its just..OOF. so optimus holds it in.

“o-optimus, i- im sorry, i didnt-”

“starscream....i cannot abandon my family. so you need to pick a side....and if it is not removed from the decepticons...i dont think it is healthy for us to keep this up.”

“optimus wAIT-”

but hes already transformed and is driving away. 

again time passes, i havent thought this part all the way thru yet, but eventually they meet again somehow and starscream apologizes (again) PROFUSELY, and optimus, in his infinite patience, forgives him again. they meet in their secret place, and its a pleasant normal meeting, but what optimus said is still very much an issue that needs to be addressed, and its lingering. starscream apologizes again for what he said about cliffjumper, and says smthn along the lines of “if anyone could protect me, not that i NEED protection, mind you......id trust you to be able to.”

“then come back with me...”

he looks conflicted. he wants to go so bad, but....

“we’ll see.” 

they kiss and part ways. optimus drives off, but when starscream turns around hes face to face with lazerbeak. soundwave comes out of his hiding place.

“scrap...”

he doesnt bother trying to come up with a lie. he knows it wont get him anywhere. soundwave heard enough, and no doubt recorded it. so instead he pleads with soundwave not to say anything. he promises he wont betray the decepticon cause, he hasnt given the autobots any information and he doesnt plan to, just PLEASE dont say anything. 

soundwave doesnt say a word. he opens a groundbridge and gestures for starscream to walk through first. 

and the next part also isnt totally fleshed out but i imagine he doesnt feel like he has much of a choice, so he walks through and has to face whatever megatron has in store for him unless he manages to escape somehow. whether he gets out on his own volition or is thrown off the ship by megatron is still up in the air, but the ensuing fallout of soundwave finding out and telling megs is what finally pushes starscream to abandon the decepticons for good. 

ANYWAY. YEA. ANGST.

the second half of exodus doesnt matter. as soon as the war starts it becomes boring and meaningless. let me summarize the first half.

Our main protagonist is Orion Pax. the text frequently takes breaks to remind you how honourable and cool Orion is. occassionally we even have entire chapters where Alpha Trion talks for multiple pages about how orion is the best dude who ever existed and hes SO cool and honourable. none of this is true. he sucks. hes racist.

the plot is orion is a librarian. one day he hears the radio broadcast of a rebellious miner turned pit gladiator, megatron. he agrees with megatrons speeches about oppression and cruelty so he wants to meet him. he does. 

megatron was forged a miner. his class is so low that not only does he not have a name, but he is legally forbidden from giving himself a name. his designation is D-16. he takes the moniker Megatronus which is shortened to megatron. turns out in pre war aligned cybertron, its worse than idw. not only do we have extreme caste slavery, but if you are low class and no longer able to work, they literally smelt you down for parts while you’re still alive.

so megatron starts a whole campaign to start a revolution. him and orion are best friends. eventually megatron is like okay lets go overthrow the senate and kill them all. and orion is like no dude thats going to start a war and kill a lot of innocent people. we already have the numbers. lets go talk to them and demand they step down peacefully. megatron is like theyre not going to do it. and orion is like megatron you have to trust me. i know i can talk them down. and megatron is like of course i trust you

so then megatron asks orion to speak rather than him because orion, being in the high caste, knows how these people think and speak and he can better sell megatrons ideals than he can himself. orion agrees. they go to the senate with an army outside. its obvious the senate is over. everyone on the senate begins to panic as orion gives his big speech about freedom and riles everyone up.

the senate has an idea.

“hey orion,” they say, “you’re totally right. cybertron sucks. we need a change. but rather than a complete change of government to one that DOESNT rely on an all powerful dictator... what if YOU were the all powerful dictator?” and orion was like :O “oh dude thats a good idea” and megatron was like ORION and orion was like MEGATRON WHY ARENT YOU EVER HAPPY FOR ME WHEN GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO ME and megatron is like WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT and orion is like IM STARTING MY OWN FACTION and the senate was like “we’re joining his faction” and megatron was like okay fuck this we’re just doing the goddamn war. im going home. and then optimus was like i cant believe megatron is so consumed by his love of violence. smh

I'm not going to lie to you. I'll just be as honest as I can get. A transformers au where a few good guy rwby characters are decepticons... Is kinda stupid. Sorry, it just doesnt seem right to me is all. Especially Penny and Jaune. I just dont feel right about it and it feels kinda pulled out of no where. And believe me, i tried being open minded about it but I just cant change my mind. It feels a bit forced. Like you turned Jaune into someone who worships megatron the way Tyrian does Salem.

First let me say I respect your opinion. Now I'm still working on this AU as I'm trying to flesh it out. Jaune sees Megatron as a mentor, someone who trained him personally and showed him the "Truth" so to speak. Megatron in this AU starts off as someone who truly did want the betterment of his people but like my favorite Optimus quote states "In war, ideals can be corrupted."

Arcstrike was badly beaten by corrupted officers under the orders of a Senator after he tried to show proof that the Senator sabotaged Pyrospear's fight. Saved by Soundwave, he was told of Megatron and his ideals. Arcstrike would go to the rallies, hearing Megatron's call for a change to their society, where all Cybertronians were treated as equals. That no one was above the laws of their planets and that the Senate was to he abolished and replaced by leaders chosen by the people. Inspired by these words, he would talk to Megatron, Orion Pax and others for a while until the day things change. (Like I said, I'm still fleshing out this AU as I plan to actually begin writing it out chapter wise.)

Also can I thank you for not going fully explicit in your message? Because I've already gotten a few because of my AUs, kinda why my writing has sorta died down alot. It really means alot that you didnt do that.

Now as for Penny? Believe it or not, that wasnt my idea. A friend of mine pointed out that Shockwave is one of the few Cybertronians that would dabble in making an artificial spark. Why? Because he doesnt care and seeks knowledge. Plus, Megatron would want to bolster his forces with new soldiers and Penny was one his success. Granted she was the only one and by that time she was activated, The Vehicons happened. I kinda liked it and went with it. I really do like this AU and I'm still going to work on it. I do take the criticism I get to heart and do what I can to improve my story.

Though I dont think I make jaune like Tyrian. Tyrian literally worships the ground Salem walks on. Jaune sees Megatron as a mentor and who has also suffered under the Autobots. Megatron has taken Thunder-Strike under his wing, showing him what he plans to do that there will he much sacrifice along the way. That Megatron will bear the responsibility of what the war will cause but it's a war that they must fight. To return them to their ancient glory before the Senate and the lineage of the Primes lost their way. Megatron is manipulative and knows how to make others see his way, especially a young Cybertronian like Arcstrike whom was nearly killed by the corrupt Autobots.

Earthspark soundwave, megs and optimus have a human s/o that is basically a fan of them and will help them in any way and will support them too,(it is canon in the show that they made comics about them) somewhat but not completely close to the dad that is a fan of bumblebee

• absolutely loves the fact that even though the cybertronian war has caused so much harm to earth ,, there’s still people out there that care for him and his kind

• sometimes he pops by for a little chat then leaves ,, because he knows theres still decepticons out there that dont enjoy the fact the war is over ,, or that megatron switched sides ,, and they’ll do what they have to when it comes to getting his attention ,, and he doesnt want you to be apart of that
