1: Are you named after someone? Technically no. I was supposed to be named Brittany, but my grandmother said that was a heathen name, so my parents were listening to the radio and the song Sweet Melissa came on by the Allman Brothers, and so they named me Melissa! So I guess I’m not technically named after anyone, but I am named after a song.

2: When was the last time you cried? Probably Thursday and Friday, Thursday most especially since I read Obama’s goodbye letter to the American people and I still can’t think about it without getting choked up.

3: Do you like your handwriting? I mean....I don’t mind it? I wish it was a little neater, because it’s usually a mix of cursive and print, but at the very least it’s pretty legible so I’ve got that going for me! (I actually once won a contest on the best handwriting, and it happened while I was on a date for my birthday so that was a pretty cool thing!)

4: What is your favourite lunch meat? TURKEY. I worked in a deli for over five years and I ate turkey sandwiches at LEAST twice a week. Sometimes I’ll eat ham, but I love me a good turkey sandwich.

5: Do you have kids? I do not.

6: If you were another person, would you be friends with you? I would!

7: Do you use sarcasm? Haha all the time! Especially when I’m around my closest friends, so I can be my sassiest self.

8: Do you still have your tonsils? I do!

9: Would you bungee jump? LOLOLOL HELL NO. I am DEATHLY afraid of heights (although I love roller coasters, go figure) so there’s no way I would ever do it. That or jump out of an airplane. Just the very idea gives me heart palpitations.

10: What is your favourite kind of cereal? I mean I usually just eat Honey Nut Cheerios, which I do really like (and I used to eat with bananas until I discovered I was allergic @ god why do you allow suffering) but if we’re talking the last cereal I would be able to eat...it would be Reese’s Puffs.

11: Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? Very rarely, honestly. I usually just kick them off and then curse myself in the morning when I’m running late and have to spare an extra minute to unknot them. Past Melissa is usually a dick to future Melissa.

12: Do you think you’re a strong person? I do, actually. I’ve been through a lot in my life, and I had a really difficult upbringing and somehow still made it out alive. So I am grateful for my inner strength and for this life that I never would have thought possible when I was 18.

13: What is your favourite ice cream flavor? Lmao I am boring as hell, but...chocolate.

14: What is the first thing you notice about people? Probably their eyes and their smile.

15: Red or pink? Red. I don’t like pink very much, which is odd because I have more pink clothing than red lol.

16: What is the least favourite physical thing you like about yourself? My nose.

17: What colour pants and shoes are you wearing now? I’m wearing black sweatpants and no shoes or socks, my feet are bare (which I just cursed because I went outside on my wet deck to stop my dog from eating a stick.)

18: What was the last thing you ate? I haven’t eaten yet today, so I guess some crackers last night.

19: What are you listening to right now? Shape of You by Ed Sheeran, and my dog snoring on the chair next to me.

20: If you were a crayon, what colour would you be? Yellow!

21: Favourite smell? Freshly brewed coffee, the smell of the earth after it’s just rained (which is technically called petrichor), the smell of books, and just baked chocolate chip cookies.

22: Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone? My sister! Although technically the last phone call I got was from my school, letting me know that the storm yesterday knocked out the power at my school for a few hours (and thus cancelled night classes), but they got it back up and running. Shame.

23: Favourite sport to watch? BASEBALL. I’m a HUGE Mets fan, and baseball is all I care about from April-September (sometimes October, when I’m #blessed and my team makes it to the playoffs, but that happens rarely). I will also watch soccer, and hockey, and sometimes football.

24: Hair color? Dark brown.

25: Eye colour? Also dark brown. Which I’m bitter about, because my mom had hazel eyes and I wanted her eye color, but NOPE. Got my dad’s.

26: Do you wear contacts? I do, sometimes. Usually if I’m going out somewhere and not just like...bumming around town.

27: Favourite food to eat? Pizza!!

28: Scary movies or comedy? Horror! I grew up watching horror movies (lmao shout out to my mother for letting me watch Psycho when I was 3) and I have loved them ever since.

29: Last movie you watched? Pretty Woman. It was on TV Friday night, so I came downstairs to make tea, my aunt was watching it and I ended up watching it with her.

30: What colour of shirt are you wearing? A blue hoodie.

31: Summer or winter? SUMMER. I absolutely HATE winter.

32: Hugs or kisses? Hugs!

33: What book are you currently reading? I just read the second book in Sarah Maas’ Throne of Glass series, which is okay but I like her other series better. (Especially A Court of Mist and Fury. Mmmm love that book.) But I’ll still read the third book, probably tonight when I get home from work.

34: Who do you miss right now? My best friends. I haven’t seen them in a little while, and our plans to hang out kept getting interrupted because we were all sick at different times lmao.

35: What is on your mouse pad? I don’t even have a real mouse pad anymore lmao, but when I still had a desktop computer I think it was the Mets.

36: What is the last TV program you watched? I just watched the new episode of Shadowhunters last night before I went to bed and wow writers way to tear my heart out of my chest :)))))

37: What is the best sound? Wind chimes, and the sound of the rain on the window when you’re laying in bed with nowhere to go. Especially right before you’re about to go to sleep.

38: Rolling Stones or The Beatles? I like both!

39: What is the furthest you have ever travelled? Definitely to Las Vegas, where I was on the plane for 5 hours last year. Unfortunately I have never been out of the United States, but I plan to go on an international trip someday! Maybe next year.

40: Do you have a special talent? Drinking what is possibly a worrying amount of coffee and being able to finish a book in a few hours. Those two things are not usually related.
