If you could have anything to eat right now, what would you have? I was about to say “pizza” ‘till I realized I literally had some for lunch a few hours ago. I have a PROBLEM.
Does having something sweet before your dinner really ruin your appetite? Nah
When’s the last time you made pizza at home from scratch? It’s been a few months. I make a hell of a white sauce, I gotta say! I’m not a fan of homemade pizza with red sauce though.
What’s in your fridge right now? Besides the staples: an assortment of leftovers that desperately need to be thrown out & are starting to smell, several Grapeades (my addiction), a box of wine...
Are there any food products made with bugs in your town’s stores? What....?
Would you ever eat a dish where the protein were insects? I’m a vegetarian so that’s gonna be a no
Do you have any dietary restrictions? If so, what and why? Nope. I mean I *should* limit my acidic foods because I have GERD like a bitch but do I? Nope.
What’s your favorite restaurant to go to? There are several local places I LOVE. And as for fast food, I love pizza & Mexican.
What do you usually drink with a meal? Usually lemonade. Though I’m trying so hard to drink water with meals. It just grosses me out!
What do you like to have for breakfast? We go out to a diner once a week & I usually get a Greek omelette with hashbrowns & white toast. I’m a big fan of bagel sandwiches too.
What do you like in your sandwich? UGH, I’ve been craving a (veggie) bologna and cheese for AGES now...
What do you usually buy at a café? Usually just a coffee. I’m not much of a pastry person unless there’s something that REALLY catches my eye, usually a scone or something.
What do you like with your steak? I’m a vegetarian
Are there any vegan products you like? Food-wise? Well, duh.
If the dish you ordered at a restaurant isn’t good, what do you do? I just suck it up or don’t eat it. I’ve never sent food back at a restaurant.
What do you like to eat while you’re watching a movie? Popcorn! Actually I like popcorn any time of day, during any activity. It’s probably my favorite snack. I’m also a sucker for Sour Patch Kids or any other kind of sour gummies.
Do you often drop food on yourself while eating? Way too often
How much do you like food? I’d consider myself a foodie! I don’t just love eating, but I love cooking, preparing food, and discussing it with other food-lovers.
Do you have dessert often? Nah. And my sweet tooth has significantly waned as I’ve grown older. Now my preferred post-dinner/bedtime snack is popcorn.
What kinds of things do you like for dessert? Ice cream is probably my fave!
How do you like your potatoes? There isn’t a single form of potato I *won’t* eat. (I’m Irish & Polish, what do you expect?!)
How do you feel about salad? I LOVE salads- either as an appetizer or as a meal itself. I love fresh, colorful veggies!
How often do you cook for yourself? A few nights a week. And on nights I don’t, Glenn cooks or we get takeout.
How often do you order takeout? We made a pact last month actually to stop ordering takeout once a week (as we usually do) and use the money we save to GO OUT to a sit-down restaurant for a date night.
Which country’s cuisine do you like best? Mexican or Lebanese/Greek (I know these are two different countries but very often restaurants serve both of these cuisines under one roof. Don’t come for me!)
What was the first dish you learned to cook? Grilled cheese IIRC
Do you enjoy eating wraps? If so, what do you like in one? Love them! With all sorts of veggies and cheeses, and spreads like hummus or tzatziki MMMM
Have you ever had filled pitta bread? If so, what was in it? Falafel is one of my all-time favorite foods
Chicken, fish, beef or pork? None of the above

February in Pictures
Tumblr media
FEBRUARY – The Love Month. It was also a very rainy and cold month. It rained almost every day and every weekend. However, it was also  special because February is my birthday month!
CELEBRATIONS
VALENTINES DAY - A sweet surprise from the bf when he had 2 dozen roses, box of chocolates and balloon delivered to my work. In turn, I cooked him a simple yet special steak dinner at home.
BIRTHDAY -  February is also my birthday month. We celebrated on Saturday where the bf took me to Napa Valley for a day of bar bites for lunch at Brix, wine tasting at V Sattui Winery and dinner  at my favorite restaurant in Napa which is Mustard’s. He also bought me what seemed like a month’s supply of cheeses, chocolates and gourmet food as my birthday presents (except I ate most of them in few days!) Ha! Ha! Then it stormed really hard on my actual birthday that we just stayed home and had  “birthday noodles” instead of a birthday cake.
SUPERBOWL SUNDAY - Bf and I brought Hawaiian bbq at his parents’ house. We brought a tray each of  bbq chicken, fried shrimp, musubi and macaroni salad. Nobody showed up so  my team mates at work and I had leftovers for lunch for days! (The bf hates leftovers.)
DATE NIGHTS
NACHOS AND PIZZA - Since it rained so much this month we just stayed in for date nights and either we had food delivered or we made a mad dash  to pick up  dinner to bring home  We either had Mexican food or pizza.  I was ecstatic since I love cozy evenings on cold evenings at home in our pjs. We watched lots of movies and lit the fireplace.
GOOD TIME FIXINS - Good Time Fixins is a small walk-up window inside of a pub called The Lodge. It was a great find on a chilly evening when the rain finally stopped.  I was a little nervous thinking it was a grimy pub but the place was very clean with shiny wood bar,  rafters and warm fire in the fireplace. The bf and I enjoyed fried artichokes, loco moco, fries and burger with a glass of  Blue Moon for me. It was a great last minute find!
FAMILY SUNDAY
Patatim and Milkfish - I barely saw my family this month because of the constant heavy storm that forced me to stay home on Sundays. I had errands to run after church when I was finally able to make it but I could not resist my brother and sis-in-law’s lunch invite when I found out that she cooked patatim which is Filipino-Chinese dish. I have not had this in years.  It was so delicious and food coma as always when dining with my family!
FRIENDSHIPS
COFFEE TIME AT THE MUSEUM - A short and sweet  mid-week coffee and pastry date with BFF @hungrygirlinsf in SF at SFMOMA which is now our second BFF HQ.
BIRTHDAY LUNCH AT THE MUSEUM - Amiga Mejor’s birthday treat for me also at SFMOMA since I am a member. We had a very delicious late lunch of shrimp tostadas and salmon bagel with coffee and tea at the museum’s outdoor patio. Such a lovely afternoon.
BIRTHDAY LUNCH AT MANILA BOWL - A birthday treat for me by my friend Karen at this new Filipino eatery inside The Market at Twitter. I was the one who wanted to try Manila Bowl  and had the tofu sisig. Overpriced American-Filipino food. I prefer the mom and pop Kababayan. (Please see below.) But the company was divine and my lunch treat was very much appreciated!
YUMMY EATS - Lots of yummy eats this month that resemble more like a culinary tour of Asia!
DIM SUM -  Bittersweet celebration of my team mate’s promotion. We stuffed ourselves with pork buns, siu mai and har gow from Tao Yuen in Oakland.
MALAYSIAN FOOD - Had lunch at Azalina at the Market at Twitter  with a visiting work colleague, Melanie,  from Philadelphia, My first time eating here and the noodles were addicting!
FILIPINO FOOD - Tapsilog lunch with Melanie from a Filipino hole in a wall restaurant Kababayan in SF since she said that Filipino food is hard to find in Philadelphia.
JAPANESE FOOD - a bowl of yummy sashimi over rice from BFF@hungrygirlinsf. She spoils me!
February lived up to its reputation as being the Love Month as I received so much love from friends and family on my birthday month. I am very thankful for another year of God’s grace for giving me life, health and blessings.
