I can't stop thinking about how for Neil exy is a means of living. He used to just survive on the run but his love of exy gave him a reason to live and to fight instead of just staying on the run until he died. But for Jean exy has always just been a means of survival and always will be. Since Jean was 14 his ability to play exy has been the only thing preventing him from being killed and it will be like that until he retires. Jean doesn't like exy, but he has to play it because it is the only part of him that the Moriyamas see value in. And yes, it is also the only part of Neil and Kevin that the moriyamas see value in, but they love exy. Neil risked his life to join the foxes because he loved exy and Kevin relearned the sport because he refused to not play it. But Jean only knows exy and doesn't love exy. Neil made a deal deciding Jean's fate. Jean described the deal as a pretty cage and that is exactly what it is to him. For Neil and Kevin, exy has meant freedom but for Jean it will always be a prison.
