I don’t know why I was surprised at Amari, she had Saran’s voice in her head the whole time.

Also I made the mistake of projecting what I wanted onto these characters as opposed to what they’re going to be.

It is! It appears this was a late revision, though, because back in October when they released an excerpt of the book, Amari’s last name is listed as Asiwaju. In the final print of the book, it is indeed Olúborí.
