Ok but can we talk about how out of all the major male characters that Ryunosuke interacts with throughout the story, van Zieks is the ONLY one that isn't hiding something from/lying to him at one point or another?? Sholmes lies about Kazuma being alive, Kazuma hides the fact that he's going to Britain as a hired assassin, Yujin hides details about the Professor killings from him in 2-2, Stronghart lies about... Well, everything really. Like there's so much I could say about him lol. Gregson hides the fact that he helped frame Genshin for the Professor killings, McGilded lies about having been the culprit in the omnibus case, Jigoku lies about having been the one to kill Gregson... Etc etc. I personally can't remember a single point where van Zieks was hiding things from Ryuu or just straight up lying about important things to his face. He's an ass to him at first, sure, but he's ultimately on the side of justice and finding out the truth, even if it means hurting his cases or having his worldview challenged (except maybe in the case of Klint, which I'll get into).

Now one might say, "Oh but didn't he hide the fact that he had a brother from Ryunosuke at first?". And to that I say... So what? From van Zieks' point of view, details about his personal life (and ESPECIALLY about Klint) are hard to talk about and, frankly, Ryuu really had no reason to need that info about him, other than just to be nosy. That's why he's so cagey about the topic in 2-3, and why he's (somewhat) more willing to talk about it with him in 2-4/5, because at that point Ryunosuke absolutely DOES need to know more about Klint (and the Professor killings in general). And as for Ryuu's point of view, he really has no reason to be asking about van Zieks' personal life at first, other than the fact that he's just curious about it.

Anyways. I really do believe that, despite how rocky these two's dynamic is at first, it's been built on honesty and straightforward-ness from the start, and I really appreciate how we have an Ace Attorney prosecutor who's more than willing to not hide the truth from his lawyer rival (even if he's making dunks on Ryunosuke half the time, lol)

thank you for speaking the truth. saschisi shippers are the biggest hypocrites in this fandom. they can't even tell me they like saschisi because it's such a well developed and interesting relationship, because it's everything but that. isi sucks and sascha is kinda boring and their relationship was so unnatural and rushed. but if i say this off anon i'm getting bullied out of the fandom like the saschisi shippers have done to other people already :D

and yeah i know anon!! like. the only time i ever thought that saschisi might turn into a good relationship was during episode one when this season still had the potential to be good. but after these ten weeks of mess i would be so mad about the way their relationship was written YET saschisi stans seem to be so happy with the.. absolute nothing??.. they got?? like im actually so confused that the loudest stans are the first to get mad at and send hate to people who r criticising the writing cuz i know for a fact if the writers would have wrecked a ship i care about in the way they wrecked saschisi i would have been endlessly bitter about it lol. it's literally just like that post that goes "wish i lacked critical thinking skills, y'all seem so happy".

but even if you can ignore the non existent development of that relationship, it's also extremly telling that saschisi stans are SO quick to forget that they fucked over too fat women, one of them being a black woman who used to be bullied by the main and DESERVED to tell things from her perspective, in order to make this ship happen. also the fact that sascha and ismail's frienship was a literal parallel to constantin and ismail's for most of the season djbevos

1. Toffee dying by Star’s magic-girl beam was a surreal experience. Honestly y'all…I am so tired of the moralization of Toffee after Battle for Mewni clearly showed what kinda character he is. Interesting, but like…terrible. Ding Dong the Lizard’s Dead.

2. Jackie is boring. And this isn’t hate, this isn’t me bagging on her character, but there’s nothing about her that’s fleshed out, there’s nothing for me to grab onto and explore. I have literally defended actual hate on Jackie (which is absolutely uncalled for and absolutely ridiculous), but she’s a flat character. They aren’t monopolizing her, because there isn’t anything to do with her.

3. I’m tired of angelic “do-no-wrong” Marco. And you bet your ASS that every single scenario I have of his plot within this season absolutely destroys it. It’s time for it to die. It’s time. The flaws Marco possesses needs to cause conflict and he needs to screw up. It’s the only way he’s gonna grow.

4. Pony Head is a great character? What the hell is wrong with this fandom she’s…entertaining and funny and she has points and flaws about her I can DELVE INTO! She has entitlement and she’s a future Queen that needs a lotta work. Like…where is her fanbase? Why am I alone in shoving Jenny Slate up my ass. I love Pony Head.

5. Going off these points, you know that meme where it makes fun of people who don’t season their chicken and think it actually tastes good? That’s the Star fandom. They like unseasoned chicken. If a character has flaws there’s too much salt and they need to wash it down with an expired dairy product.

6. I love the whole “it’s not black and white” with Eclipsa, but people gotta stop painting her as innocent Miss Sunshine. I stand by the fact that her whole Monster Love issue is a problem for MEWNI, not her, but…I don’t care what she says about “Forbidden? Is that what they’re calling my chapter” bullshit - did you miss the part where it corrupted Marco? Why the hell does she have a spell to kill something immortal? The ying/yang thing going on with her and Star, yeah let’s dive into it, I’m excited, but to paint her as a good guy??? Why do you think Toffee died lol.

7. I dislike To.mco for several reasons and a majority of them are fan-based but like…why is it that almost every To.mco shipper I see ship Bil.ldip too? And then Wir.t and the Beast??? What is that?? Why do people shove this shit up their assholes??? That’s so…blech to me.

8. Glossaryck is undeniably one of the most complex characters on the show and idk why people are so busy fetishizing a dead lizard instead of creating headcanons with this asshole but y'all…do what you want I don’t care.

9. I’m very indifferent on the headcanon for Marco (you know which one), because it doesn’t affect me and my opinion of their characterization won’t change whether or not it’s “confirmed” (it’s a headcanon). I think it’d be nice to see and I’d fully support it if it’s the case. What does sorta confuse me is why they’re paired with Tom in almost every instance of fan art and fanfiction I see, instead of Star who…canonly supports whatever Marco would choose to be? She put make up on him and called him pretty, supports him consistently in his attire - what the heck????????? Where is the Bisexual Star with her Girlfriend Marco Diaz, who is also a Bisexual? I dunno. This isn’t my area of expertise and I’m genuinely disinterested in learning why this isn’t the case if this “headcanon” is so “logically factual.”

10. I think it’s fine to think Marco is gender fluid instead or just doesn’t reject his femininity (which tumblr loves to perpetuate, but somehow if people believe this is the case for Marco, bring torches and guns, so), but you know what? Not my problem.

11. This fandom is TERRIBLE with inferring fictional romance. Like…really bad.
