The setting is a world in which spirits live on a separate plane of existence but there are places of overlap with the physical world. These spirits are not quite a secret from the world but still rare enough that most people don't know much about them but have accepted them as a part of daily life on Earth. However, due to existence of overlapping areas, there are moments where spirits can partially leak into the physical plane and cause chaos. Therefore there exists a community of people who keep these spirits at bay. They are called spirits guards, and have throughout history and separately across all cultures been a selective group trained to negotiate or fight spirits that have crossed into the in-between. Deals must be made with more sentient spirits in order to receive power or create items that utilize the power of the spiritual realm in order to fight these spirits. In essence, these humans are given permission to interact with the spiritual world in a way that surpasses their natural abilities. This permission is limited to the person receiving it, so every person aiming to join the guard must receive permission from a spirit.
Zul and Lia were children that were forced into accepting spirit power due to an experiment done by the government. A scientist and a mysterious spirit joined hands in order to convince the government to fund their project, claiming to research spirit power and how it could be used as an energy source. However, both want power over each others realms and are experimenting on children to see how much spirit power a human could handle and plan to use these children as personal soldiers/tools.
A handful of orphans were bought and brought deep into the spirit plane, taking them deeper and deeper into the plane to absorb denser and more powerful spirit power until they reached their limit. The deeper into the spirit plane the more abstract and powerful the spirits get. Humans rarely go into the spirit plane, and any that do never go deep due to the inherent danger of too much power settling into their body.
Most of the children died. Only two lived by some miracle: Zul and Lia. Zul, older, showed great potential, awakening the power of small pocket dimensions and the ability to morph power into nearly any shape. Lia, on the other hand, only awakened a weak lie detection skill. Rather than a pinpoint understanding on if the person was lying, they only received a dull sense of wrongness that intensified the more the person believes what they're saying is a lie.
For years Zul and Lia underwent training and experimentation, with Zul doing his utmost to protect Lia, emphasizing their lack of ability to offset training onto himself. In return, Lia offered as much comfort as they could give. Though they wouldn't fully understand the horrors Zul went through, at least they could be a listening ear.
Zul was being trained to become a soldier, a personal spirit guard for the scientist. He began to go on missions to clear the city of spirits— and spirit guards. Soon the city was hauntingly empty of spiritual activity, and those sent to investigate all went missing.
However the project began losing support from the government, disappointed in the lack of results. Unwilling to lose any resource, they released Lia to live in the city, saving money but also keeping them within arms reach. With the understanding that they would be constantly under surveillance, they began to build a life in the city, slowly cobbling together a plan to free their brother still stuck within the project, who had been threatened with Lia (who wasn't aware) to follow orders.
Metis and Ponchik are college friends. Lia ends up working at the same place as Ponchik and somehow become friends, and Mercury, someone who half-lives in the library buried in books, somehow befriends Metis. Then they all end up meeting each other and becoming a group with one braincell (Mercury begrudgingly has it).
Mercury and Lia are the two newcomers to the city while Metis and Ponchik have lived there for a majority of their lives. Mercury lived in the city for longer than Lia, so after learning that Lia was new, was able to give some pointers to help them get adjusted to the city.
However, Lia feels uneasy around Mercury. While kind and gentle, they seemed to be full of lies, even lying about things that don't need to be lied about. This, along with the similarity with Zul's gentleness, makes Lia distance themself from Mercury, who seems to understand and give them space, which confuses Lia and makes them feel guilty for rejecting a seemingly harmless person.
Ponchik is a gentle person, opposed to their general aesthetic. Earnest and passionate about whatever new interest they have, they seem to cruise their way through life without really settling on one thing in particular. They named themself after their favourite food and would eat it breakfast lunch and dinner if they could. Types how they speak, elongating words and misspelling them for emphasis or to convey an accent or funny way of speaking ("eeeediot")
Metis is silent chaos, more willing to take risks and break rules. They love to make really bad puns and dad jokes, and teases Ponchik about being a rule follower. Metis has their own set of rules she follows, though what those rules are is confusing to anyone who hasn't know her long enough. Texts with typos for days because "i spend most of my day painstakingly scouring my code for typos don't make me do it on my off time too"
Mercury is .... well my notes say "so it's like spiderman. Who then got stuck with Deadpool. And is now appalled at being the responsible one." They're smiley and teasing and throws flirty remarks around willy nilly. They're silly and bit pathetic and has absolutely been caught with their arm stuck in a vending machine because their snack wouldn't come out. They are Delighted by Metis's bad jokes and joins in every chance they get to Ponchik's chagrin. They look cool at first glance until they open their mouth and dumb shit falls out. Every other text they send has :) :3 :] they have a Nokia. Good because they drop it too often and forget it too easily
Lia is very deliberate in their actions, taking time to think before talking and quietly watching the people around them before acting. What is awkwardness appears to be quiet and intimidating on the outside. Embarrassed by their lack of knowledge and how awkward they can be. But once they warm up, they can be very playful, absolutely willing to do some stupid shit. They're not particularly impulsive, but does do things that seem so. However they have extensively thought about said action before doing so, so it's planned impulsiveness?? Due to their fashion and jewelry, everyone assumes the hair and eyes are fake. Types very formally but slowly learning texting mannerisms. Particularly Mercury's emotes, so there are academic/Formal texts with the occasional ( ・∇・)

BACKGROUND
Lia and this character were together for around 9 years. They met in Nashville when Lia was around 19/20 but didn’t get together immediately. He can still be from Briar Ridge. When Lia’s career took off, they moved to Los Angeles as his career (something in the media, another singer, actor, that sort of thing) took off as well. They had (from Lia’s view) a great relationship up until around 8 months ago when she found him cheating with one of her best friends. All the background of the relationship and the cheating, the break up can be discussed, I want to leave that as open for us to decide as possible! Once she found out about the affair, Lia broke up with him and moved to Briar Ridge shortly after. Why he’s now in town is UTP, whether it’s to do with Lia or he may just be coming home.

An Unexpected Turn of Events
Tumblr media
Hiya, folks! So, as previously announced, the wlw writing project continues after a break with a miniseries set back in Vienna, one of the iconic capitals of opera at the time of Mozart. An emerging singer gets the chance to be an understudy in the latest Mozart’s discussed opera Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), that  premiered at the Burgtheater in Vienna on 1 May 1786, w and play the pants role of the page Cherubino. Preparing for the role doesn’t quite go as planned… .

Hope you enjoy it: if you do, please consider spreading the word!
____________________
A couple of days later I go back to Melchiorri for another session as planned. He is inflexible that I allow my voice to rest at least one day before practising again not to damage it. As I observe the streets of Vienna passing by from my carriage, I wonder if the little fugitive will visit us today too and a tiny smile crosses my lips. I should be bothered by such unprofessionalism but surprisingly I enjoyed the interruption. A private comedic enteract. It also reminded me the maestro is human: I stole a glance of the domestic, family life people like me is generally unfamiliar with. I don't plan to marry anytime soon honestly if I can avoid it, despite what my Aunt claims. I owe her and my uncle, the wealthy side of my family, everything. She brought me away from the small town by the Alps I lived with Mom, Dad and Hans, my little brother in a wooden cottage by a stream. We weren't indigents, we owned a small typography in town that mainly served the local journal of the valley and well, the church crafting the prayer books you would find on the bench every day at mass. We weren't rich with either: you don't exactly became high socialite with so little. Hans is now running the typography as my father's eyes are not the ones he used to have since he got sick. I don't envy my poor brother; I am glad I got my way out of that life. I am eternally grateful to Auntie Helga for insisting to drag me to Graz and deciding to turn me into a star of the opera after hearing me perform a solo in the church choir during one of her - not so frequent, actually - visits.
Auntie built her fortune over a good marriage with a promising young lawyer who couldn't resist her charm and eventually allowed her to live in sober luxury and even be invited to court. But that seemed to be her sole aspiration in life: she left the small town and never looked back. I am an opera singer, I want more. My career comes first and I have yet to meet a worthy match honestly. And no, I don't want to be a puppet, a doll to a man who will eventually ask me to leave the stage and my beloved arias to look after a child or be a proper wife, whatever it means. So, no, thanks, I chuckle in my head while taking the hand the driver offer me to get off the carriage. When I knock at the door, I am considering that maybe Herr Giorgio is not that bad, even if I didn't like the way he addressed the maid and the poor naughty boy. Nor the lusty looks he throws me. The maid welcomes me with a smile and a little reverence. Good girl, probably she expects me to chastise her too. As if I had any intention to do so! She takes my fur and quickly disappear into the wardrobe room before walking back towardsme. I thank her for her zeal but I know the way to the music room, the maestro is surely waiting for me, I say. I start walking but what she says next makes me freeze, confused. "Actually, Miss...the master is not here today. I'm very sorry. His wife is waiting for you in the tea room". What? That...that must be a joke. The maestro hired to prepare me last minute disappears before the official rehearsals. I turn and throw a bad look at the poor maid, who doesn't deserve it in the least. She's just a messenger, her eyes beg before lowering them to her feet. She's right, my anger is all for Mister Melchiorri. What do I do now? "Whatever, lead the way then" I exclaim, following her. "I can't wait to hear what the fair lady has to say about this". My voice is cold, sardonic; the girl doesn't say a single word while we walk in the opposite direction than my usual route in the house. She's certainly too afraid to dare say a thing. When we finally arrive to the right room, she knocks politely at the door and steps in when a female voice comes from the inside. She bows her head and announces my presence before disappearing back down the corridor. She stops only to let the door open for me. I let out an annoyed sigh and enter. The room is significantly different from the maestro's studio. No instruments, only paintings at the walls and fresh flowers on the little tables around the room. The perfume is delicate and inebriating: are they orchids, I wonder? A neat wooden library holds the place of honour on the main wall, opposite the fireplace and framed by windows that fills the whole room by natural light, even if the sun doesn't shine today: it will probably rain soon. Letting my eyes wonder outside I spot green and a carousel: I didn't realise we were so close to a park! Unlike the music room, here even if the furniture, the velvet armchairs, the Persian rugs, every decor are certainly expensive, the atmosphere is surprisingly...cozy, an adjective I would have never thought of associated with Melchiorri's place. It's almost inviting, calming? "Miss Bauer, I am so incredibly sorry for the the latest developments and all the trouble they must bring on you...but please, take a seat! Franziska will be back soon with fresh tea". I turn to see a woman gesturing me to join her by the fireplace. Her German has a thick Italian accent which gives her "a bit of exotic" as they say at court. She doesn't wear a wig, her long raven hair are done up in an elaborate grateful chignon and two curly strands frame her visage. She reminds me one of those shepherdesses portrayed in bucolic frescos at the Emperor's Palace. Her dress is not in character though: a plain, cerulean dress which is not necessarily cheap but does nothing to enhance her figure. Poor taste probably: even money can do little about it sometimes. She must be in her early thirties or so I wager and thinner than most ladies I know in her standing...I wonder why Melchiorri chose her if he's so clearly fond of female curves. Maybe it's another arranged loveless marriage. I wouldn't be surprised. I oblige and thank her politely, forgetting my anger for a moment. It surprises me, it must be a reflex, a natural response the soothing silky voice of the lady. Like the feral beasts tamed by the gentle melody of Orpheus' song, I think trying to shake away such thought. I suddenly realise that I don't know her name. Melchiorri never talked about her. But I don't want to tell her: it's not a nice thing to say to a wife, right? As if reading my thoughts, she shakes her head slightly embarassed. "I forgot my manners, didn't I?" she sighs. "You must forgive me, Miss, I do not receive many visitors lately and I've never been introduced to famous opera singers...nor any of my husband's pupils. My name is Cecilia, Cecilia Melchiorri". I feel a pang of sadness for this lady excluded from the theatre world his husband works in. I don't get why she has to be cast out like that. I've met other illustrious wives at social gatherings around Vienna or at court. I offer her my hand, gesturing no apologies are needed, and repeat her name. "Cecilia...". Sadly, I completely butcher it: I studied Italian for the opera but my Austrian tongue is still incapable to recreate the sweet sounds that comes so natural to her. It must not be the first time because her lips curl in a quick understanding smile. "You can call me Lia, if it's easier for you. My family used to call me so". Lia...what a pretty little name. I smile, grateful. "I will then, if you don't mind...Lia. You can call me Constanze: it seems only fair". "As you wish, Miss Bauer!" she says before realising her mistake. We share an amused look, even if hers is a bit more bashful. In that moment, after another polite knock, Franziska returns with the tea and some butter biscuits. They're different from the ones Mister Melchiorri usually offers me in his studio. She's serving the tea when a familiar figure materialises on the threshold of the room at my peripheral. Lia is giving him the shoulders so she can't see him. I turn in his direction with a smirk. "I believe we've already met, right, Sir?" The two women turn at unison too and the kid childishly hides his face but doesn't move. After a moment he spies us through his fingers and retrieves his hands, smiling. Franziska puts the tray underneath her arm and tells Lia that she will bring him to his room, making the boy pout. He's quite the character. "Maybe he followed you because he just wants a biscuit" I say, my eyes wandering between them to check if I'm overstepping. "Maybe you're right...but only if he doesn't bother you" Melchiorri's wife concedes with a tired smile. I shake my head and take the decorated plate in my hands. "Would you like one?" I ask in Italian to her son, not sure if he speaks proper German. His face brightens up and he nods enthusiastically. We share a soft laugh, even the maid joins. He gets ready to speed across the room when he stops, considering. He searches his mother for approval. Lia nods, asking to behave like a good boy though. So he approaches slower than he wanted, with great effort to refrain himself, and grabs a biscuit from the plate. Before taking a generous bite, he mutters a quick thank you. "Mystery solved" I comment, placing the plate back on the table. "You must excuse him, Miss Ba- Constanze" Lia say, gently pulling him closer. "Nino is not a bad kid, just a bit of a rascal at times". "A rascal with a sweet tooth" Franziska adds and we share another laughter. "I'm so sorry he interrupted your private session the other day. Franziska had quite a fair share of work to do and I was indisposed in my room, I couldn't look after him as I usually do". I dismiss her apologies, taking a sip of tea. "But it was fun, wasn't it?" I wink at Nino who chuckles. "Yes and she sings very well, Ma" he says, turning to his mother. "Of course, I heard her too from my room" she smiles. "She's a promise of the opera, it's written on the newspapers". "Sing again?" the little boy begs, expectantly. His childish enthusiasm amuses me. "I cannot do those trills now, I need to warm up my voice first" I apologise, before winking. "Another time, I promise". Lia whispers something into his ear and he thanks me, concealing his disappointment. Crumbs are stuck on his lips and make the smile that follows a bit funnier than it was supposed to be. "Now, sweetheart, why don't you follow Franziska back to the kitchen?" She says, stroking his curls. "Take another biscuit and she will give you a glass of milk, just as you like it, huh?". She doesn't have to say it twice: while the maid gently places and arm around his shoulders, guiding him away, he takes not one but two biscuits in his hands. He throws me a conspiratorial look before chuckling. Then he turns towards Lia and stretches his neck to kiss her cheek. She caresses his face and tells him to be good with Franziska. When the two of them are out of the room, she meets my gaze again, shaking hear head. "Apologies, Miss...I sent Franziska to buy these for you this morning and he managed to put his eyes on them. He became obsessed". "Kids" I shrug, unbothered. I am pleasantly impressed that she had such a kind gesture towards me. I mean it could be a way to get on my good side because of the news she has to give me...but after all, this situation is not her fault. Her husband left her to deal with this and me all alone. She turns serious and sighs. "Anyway, have you heard of the flooding near Salzburg?". "What?". "Torrential rain lead to conspicuous floodings in the area surrounding Salzburg. I don't know if Giorgio mentioned it to you but he head there after your session for a family emergency....his brother lives there". "I'm afraid he didn't say a thing about his little journey" I say, trying my hardest not to look angered, even if I am: I would have rather be informed sooner of such details. By the look on her face I can tell she expected such an answer. "He surely thought he would be back in time today, he didn't mention staying for long. But during the night the weather deteriorated and the roads are pretty much impracticable, so to speak. We've just received a note saying he will be back as soon as travelling conditions are restored and the emergency solved. Probably a couple of days...maybe more? He must have sent you a similar one, you just missed it because you were on your way here already". "A couple of days? Maybe more?" I exclaim. That's not promising... "The rehearsals start in a week" I frown. "I still need to practise...". "You are free to do it here if you wish, Miss" she suggests, apologetic yet encouraging. "I am perfectly aware this is a hideous setback for you with such a tight schedule. You must believe me when I say I wish we never put you in this situation...if there's anything I can do, Miss, ask away. I'm not my husband but...". I consider her words for a moment. My mind runs wild to find a solution for this unexpected unfavourable circumstance. I could find another maestro maybe but how, within such a short notice and little time before official rehearsals begin? I could do it on my own but another sudden foolish idea crosses my mind. "Do you play the cello, Mrs. Lia?" I must have taken her by surprise by the look on her face. She tries to conceal it, refilling her cup. "Why, yes. My father was a musician, I took cello classes in my youth but I don't see how this-". "Excellent! Then you can take your husband's place until the he’s back" I exclaim, cutting her short. My words must come as a shock: she almost spits her tea. "Beg pardon, Miss?". "You will be my maestro, well understudy maestro for the time being" I smile, explaining. "You said yourself that you can play the cello, you can assist me as I practice". "But...but I don't have my husband expertise" she objects, at loss of words. "You heard me practicing with your husband, right? So you must know how it should sound. And that aside, you can even tell yourself if my performance is good or not: you have ears too, if I am not mistaken". She opens her mouth to say something, anything to make me change my mind and spare her such thing...but nothing comes. Her lips presses together for a moment before she places her cup back on the table. "Very well, then...if you think it would work" she smiles weakly. "Just be patient with me: I do not usually play opera arias".

The One With The First Heat
Tumblr media
Ain't it fun? Living in the real world? Ain't it good?
You knew there was something different about your youngest daughter the moment you saw her that morning.
Your first clue was the fact that it took forever for you to get her up for school. Surprisingly, despite her general  grumbling disposition, Peyton was a morning person. She normally woke up before her parents. That morning was different.
Your second clue was Peyton practically sitting under Jisoo the entirety of breakfast. Peyton was your most independent child, she normally did things without her parents and didn't really need the coddling or comfort that her siblings might have at thirteen.
Of course, Jisoo doesn't notice. She's happy to let her kid sit next to her. You're sure Jisoo would try to cradle all of your children like babies if they let her.
So, yes Jisoo doesn't sense a problem, but even if she was aware of something being off with Peyton, she wouldn't know what signs to look for. Not like you do at least.
The third clue came from Peyton herself. Actually, the fourth did too, just that one wasn't so voluntary.
"Mommy, I think I have a fever." You're lip trembled. Peyton had stopped calling you 'mommy' about almost as soon as she had started speaking full sentences.
You managed to suck it down, though. You wouldn't be so easily susceptible to intense emotion if Jisoo would stop getting you pregnant. You had agreed you were done after Peyton, but no, Jisoo's dick had other plans.
But that's beside the point.
You placed the back of your hand on Peyton's forehead. You knew she would be burning up before you even touched her. And sure enough.
As soon as you took your hand away, the fourth clue popped into place. The easily recognizable scent of heat practically hit you like a slap to the face.  And with it comes a wave of tears down your face.
"My baby is growing up."
Peyton just looked at you weirdly. The smell must hit Jisoo, because her head turned sharply towards them, a deep frown on her face.
You pulled Peyton into a tight hug. Ryland and Lia, who honestly you had completely forgotten about, stare at you weirdly too.
Jisoo blew out a sigh, "Well, would you look at the time! It's time for you two to get to school." She quickly grabbed her keys and herded the older girls toward the front door.
"I don't have class until 10:30." Lia grumbled.
"Then sit in the library and study until you do have class." They were pretty much out the door now.
"Is Peyton okay?" Ryland asked softly. Peyton was still being suffocated in that hug.
Jisoo sighed, "She will be." With that, she finally managed to wrangle them out the door.
"Mom? You can let go, now."
You slipped in one last squeeze before releasing Peyton.
It was clear the teenager didn't quite realize what was happening yet. You breifly wondered how long you could keep it that way. Ultimately, you decided against it. Peyton wasn't dumb. She'd figure it out eventually.
"Am I not going to school today?" It was a possibility that Jisoo just forgot her. It's happened before. It wasn't a big deal, it meant she got more breakfast.
"No you're not. You get to stay here with mama and I today."
Peyton shrugged, "Okay. But why? Did I actually have a fever?"
You swallowed harshly, "Yes, but not for the reason you probably think. Your heat started."
Peyton's nose scrunched up. It made sense. She does feel a bit icky and sluggish and like she needs a shower. She frowned, "Well, tell it to go away, I don't want it right now." They both knew it didn't work like that, but Peyton thought it couldn't help. Maybe it was a voluntary thing, and she could opt out or in at her convenience.
"If only it were that easy. Come on, you are going to take a nap, while I schedule a doctor's appointment, and go to the drug store. Jisoo should be back soon." You guided the teenager to your and Jisoo's room. Peyton let herself be guided with a scowl.
You peeled the duvet back and ushered Peyton in, not in the least bit surprised when Peyton drifted toward Jisoo's side.
"I'm not tired, mom."
You hummed, "Sure you're not. I'm going to go get you a tank and some sleep shorts."
Peyton crossed her arms over her chest. She dug her phone out of pocket as you left the room.
Pey Pey: Apparently, I started my heat today. Won't be coming to school today.
Tay Tay: Ew gross
Pey Pey: I know. Mom's freaking out because I'm growing up or something.
Tay Tay: Not to change the subject or anything, but will your sister be here today?
Pey Pey: Yes. Your crush on my sister is getting creepy.
Tay Tay: I'll have you know, my mother raised me to be a great alp-
Pey Pey: Anyway, if Maya asks about me, lie and say I'm skipping or something cool like that.
Tay Tay: How did you successfully manage to interrupt me? We're texting...
Pey Pey: Taylor Bae-Park. Pay attention.
Tay Tay: Whatever. But we both know she will not ask about you. She'd have to stop being teacher's pet for three seconds to do that.
Pey Pey: Don't be mean to her. She's just passionate about learning.
Tay Tay: and my crush on your sister is creepy
Peyton frowned, she pressed dial on the phone and waited as it rung.
Tay Tay: YO WTF I'M IN HALLOWAY'S CLASS YOU ALMOST GOT MY PHONE TAKEN AWAY
Pey Pey: It's what you deserve
Peyton calmly placed her phone on Jisoo's bedside table. You still hadn't come back with her clothes, so she just burrowed down further into the bed as she waited. Seconds later she was out like a light.
You finally came in a few minutes later. You eyed your daughter, "Not tired my ass."
~•~
Becoming a parent had made you an excellent multitasker. While you had been gathering Peyton's change of clothes, you had called the doctor and made an appointment later that day, and made a mental list for the trip to the drug store.
Jisoo had came back from taking Ryland to school and tricking Lia into driving herself to college.
Upon arrival Jisoo's nose scrunched up. You pointed a finger at her in warning, "Do not say whatever it is you're thinking. I know. Go cuddle your daughter, while I'm gone. When I come back we'll take her to the doctor."
Jisoo nodded silently. Then did as she was told.
~•~
You had gotten back from the drug store an hour later. You placed the Gatorade you had bought next to Peyton's phone. You then gently roused her awake.
"Hey Pey, time to go to the doctor." Both Peyton and Jisoo groaned.
Peyton got out of the bed a bit groggily. Jisoo did not get out of the bed.
"You guys go on without me. I'll stay here and sleep the day away."
"Jisoo...."
"I'm up." Jisoo popped up suddenly, "What are you guys waiting on? We have a doctor's appointment to get to!"
~•~
The doctor's visit went about as well as you could have hoped. Peyton is indifferent to a lot of things and this was no exception.
They had gotten the suppressants Peyton needed so she could go back to school the next day. And then headed back to the house.
Peyton plopped down onto the couch next to Jisoo. That's where they stayed until her siblings returned home.
Ryland entered the house first, her nose scrunched up too, but at least she had the common sense not to say anything.
Lia almost said something when she entered, but you assuaged her with a look. You breathed a sigh of relief.
You dodged a bullet there, or so you thought. Your life flashed before your eyes as Maya followed Lia into the house.
Maya didn't say anything. She seemed disoriented and confused and maybe even a bit scared, but that last one was probably because Jisoo was glaring at her.
"Hi, Maya." Peyton greeted shyly.
You're not sure Maya would have been able to reply even if she wanted to.
"Hey Maya, why don't you go home. You can hang out with Lia tommorow." When Peyton's suppressants kicked in went unsaid.
Maya nodded vehemently at you, "Yes ma'am." Lia rolled her eyes, she had just gotten here. Now, she was going to have to drive Maya back to her own home.
Peyton also looked like she wanted to protest, but if she did she'd probably have to answer questions she's not ready to answer.
Maya quickly shuffled out the door, Lia following her reluctantly.
Yes, you had successfully dodged several bullets that day.

The Ammonite Pavement I went to school for some years near Lyme Regis on England's Jurassic Coast world heritage site, and alongside my early childhood in the Alps the experience fed my growing love of all things geological. One of the more stupendous sites situated on Monmouth Beach just out of town is a slab of the ubiquitous marine Blue Lias limestone (which also contains mud) filled with hundreds of fossilised critters, mostly varied species of coiled ammonites (related to the squid family). The place is best visited at low tide, and care should be taken near the cliffs since falling rocks are a hazard all along this stretch of coast. It is not permitted to collect fossils from the pavement itself, but anything that's fallen out of the cliffs is fair game. I still have some of the stuff I collected in those days, in my ever growing pile of rocks. Richard Strauss
Metamorfoses

Hard to avoid the deflating feeling that this has been a rather underwhelming year for music. With social media/culture/politics being in such a weird place all at once, it’s definitely been a strange year for pop culture. Maybe it did all feel more exciting and creative when there was an energy to Tumblr and Twitter wasn’t such an infuriating time-waster — or maybe that’s just me moving further along the inescapable path to being old and grumpy while the fun’s happening elsewhere. Who knows!? But to quote one of 2017′s most preeminent persons in pop… I miss those days!
Having said all that, these are the tracks that made me feel otherwise. (And hey, life was pretty great outside the internet!)

Schools in Leicester and Leicestershire verified closed today due to the fact that of snow
A number of schools in Leicester and Leicestershire have actually validated they are shut today.Heavy snow yesterday suggests that lots of side roadways stay blockaded today-although many main roadways are back to normal.Gritters have been working all the time to try and fix the issue, however they rely on vehicles to spread the grit, and most drivers wisely decided to remain at home.
