and I’ll call it AP, like advanced placement. It will be a warm hug on a murky day for any girls out there who are just like me. I don’t know how I’ll do it, but I will. I know that much.

Larry Taylor was born in 1942 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He grew up in a family and community that emphasized the importance of military service. His great-great-grandfather fought in the Civil War, his great-uncle in World War I and his father and uncles in World War II.
Larry Taylor joined the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Upon graduation in June 1966, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army Reserve, then joined the regular Army in August, volunteering as an armor officer.
He joined the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Upon graduation in June 1966, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army Reserve, then joined the regular Army in August, volunteering as an armor officer. After graduating from the U.S. Army Armor School at Fort Knox, Kentucky, Taylor quickly realized he was better suited to be a pilot than an armor officer. He had already obtained a fixed-wing pilot's license before joining the Army and thought that experience would make it easier to learn rotary-wing flying.
After receiving permission to train as a helicopter pilot, he attended the U.S. Army Primary Helicopter School at Fort Wolters, Texas, and then advanced helicopter training at Fort Rucker (renamed Fort Novosel in 2023), Alabama, where he qualified as an Army aviator in June 1967.
Taylor served in Vietnam from August 1967 to August 1968, flying some of the first Bell AH1-G Cobra attack helicopters in combat. Serving with D Troop (Air), 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry, 1st Infantry Division, Taylor flew over 2,000 combat missions in UH-1 and Cobra helicopters. He was engaged by enemy fire 340 times and was forced down five times. The U.S. Army awarded him at least 50 combat decorations, including the Silver Star, 43 Air Medals, a Bronze Star and two Distinguished Flying Crosses. He also received the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Bronze Star.
Among his many harrowing operations, the most dangerous and frightening took place on June 18, 1968, when he rescued a four-man long range patrol team at significant risk to his own life. For his heroic actions that night, the Army awarded him the Silver Star, which President Joe Biden upgraded to the Medal of Honor in 2023. Taylor concluded his military service as a captain with the 2nd Armored Cavalry in West Germany.
After his Army service, he operated a successful roofing and sheet metal company in Chattanooga and was involved with several veterans' organizations. He has also been a generous donor to charitable nonprofit organizations in the Chattanooga area. Taylor and his wife, Toni, reside in Signal Mountain, Tennessee.

TUNDRA!EDDIE WELCOME HOME AU PG 1
The Neighborhood was covered in a thick white sheet of frost, the snow was deep enough to even sink Wally Darling. Eddie went out of his way to do his mail run however, as of course his job is never finished. One quick step out and he was met with a devastating shock of chill. It ran up his nerves and caused him to flinch, almost tumbling into the grass. The stocky mailman caught himself this time, as he knew if he fell no one could really help him up. “Why this is some snow!” Eddie chuckled and tried to make the best out of it. “And-aw shucks I’m late again! Er-shoot…oh right Sally’s house!” Eddie remembered his first stop. However, it wasn’t easy getting to her home. The snow was too thick! So thick he swore he would have gotten stuck and sank underneath. He walked around, not even Julie’s chalk from her usual hopscotch game. He sighed. “Ya know, I aint sure if I’m liking this type of weather anymore…”
He reached Sally's door and knocked. The wooden door was cold and cracked. Sally opened the door. “Ah1 *cough* mailman, it’s you…” she was shivering and looked quite sickly.
“Morning Sally! If it’s even morning, it’s quite hard to tell actually. Ya know-”
Sally interrupted him. “Oh do you have my letter, it’s too cold for talking!”
Eddie just passed the letter to her and she closed the door. He was a tad disheartened but he knew Sally and him didn't have the greatest relationship. The mailman just stalked away. “Well, perhaps someone else is doing fine haha….”
Eddie kept walking to the next home, Julie’s. The rainbow monster opened the door. “Oh Eddie!! You’re here, you are here!!!” She said with such glee, a change for Eddie. Eddie smiled. “Haha, I am. Here’s your letter.” Eddie gave her letter and she smiled. “Thank you Eddie!”
Eddie was about to leave but Julie stopped him. “Wait! Come inside, you might catch a  cold!”
The mailman shook his head. “Well I would Julie but-” He was cut short when Julie grabbed his arm and pulled him into her house. “Ah! Julie, be careful there!’ Eddie stumbled, trying his best to regain footing and comprehend how she was even able to pull him inside. He did feel better being inside her home at least.
Julie had warm blankets everywhere, and her house was warm. Eddie had no choice but to enjoy the peace. “Ah, well Julie ya know I can’t be here for long ya know.” He said with a sweat.  Julie objected. “I know but it’s so terribly cold! You seem like you have a frozen nose!” Julie pointed to his nose. Eddie felt his nose and realized it was super cold and red. “Oh good golly you're right!’ Eddie rubbed his nose to warm it back up, his yellow nose was back in action. Julie gave him a blanket to keep warm, he was a little surprised at her hospitality, as it seems Poppy would be more for it, or was she? “I have to thank ya Julie, It’s quite a pleasure being cared for.” Eddie Dear took a sip of hot  chocolate.
“I was worried, but it’s been awful out there…” Julie sounded less joyful.
“Ya know, it has been.  I've seen plenty of winters but this one don’t  feel right.” Eddie tapped the cup. He was right and so was Julie. It wasn't a regular snow season, the snow came since the early season of November. The residents were pleased and Eddie loved having a snowball fight or two. But the snow stayed for longer than usual.  Once Frank became sick, Poppy suggested staying inside, keeping warm, and taking enough cold and flu medicine. Eddie worried for his lover, Frank had been sickly for almost a month, and not even the strongest cold medicine was helping. Julie could sense his fear, Frank was her best friend. If anything happened to him, a huge hole would be stapled in their hearts.
“I'm really worried Eddie, Wally is sick as well! Oh and poor Barnaby's nose is as red as cherry! Oh and not to mention Poppy, her feathers got the chills! Howdy even closed the shop!” Julie exclaimed.  This concerned Eddie greatly, something had to be done but what could they do? Howdy closing his shop was quite a concern, Howdy would keep it open even during a rainy day. “Well, I ain’t about to say I know what to do, but I think we oughta move…”
Julie was shocked. “Move? But where? Oh Eddie how can we?! This is the only home we know! I mean, I know my siblings are at Childhood Cove and, oh dear! My siblings!!!” Eddie placed his hand on Julie’s small hand. “Julie, cool it there! Let’s not panic too much…” Eddie sighed.
Eddie didn’t know what to say however, he too was as worried as  Poppy when she started baking cupcakes. What could he do? The situation didn't sound pretty at all. His friends were in danger! He had to do something, anything! A rustling sound was heard outside and a dark shadow passed by her window. “EEK!” Julie yelped as she  hid under the table. “WHAT WAS THAT!!!” She covered her mouth. Eddie looked and didn’t see anything until the last second. He looked closely and saw what appeared to be a figure, probably smaller, gazing from out the trees. It had a pale face, black little eyes, almost humanoid…
Eddie was about to hide under the table as well, but Julie needed a protector. He wasn’t the greatest at defending, but he at least needed to let Julie know someone was going to save her when things went downhill. He put on his “man” face. “Julie?” He stammered as he tried to do a brave voice. “Stay here…” Julie was about to call him back but she hesitated. Eddie slowly went towards the door, the figure zipped right passed the window right by it and Eddie almost tumbled back. Julie was pleading inside her head for Eddie to stop and hide, she didn't care about a hero, she just ended him to be safe. Eddie gulped, suddenly the door slammed open and the small shadowy figure tackled him down and pinned Eddie to the floor.
“Ah-ah-OWL!!” Eddie stuttered out. A small, orange and white Barn Owl was perched on his stomach. Its dark eyes just looked at him, whether the intent was deadly was unclear
