I’m watching the special features on @shoutfactory’s new version of #jasongoestohellthefinalfriday and there’s this wonderful bit from #AdamMarcus where he says that he loves that the film has all these #queer undertones because the #Horror Genre should be inclusive! This Scream Factory set is truly something to behold. To say these films hold a special place in my heart is an understatement. It’s difficult to explain exactly why considering they’re gory, grotesque and generally gratuitous in every conceivable way, but over the years, I’ve come to enjoy each of them for what they are. I’m sure I’ve said this before in a post in the past, however, my introduction to this franchise was courtesy of my cousin Matt. During family get-togethers, we’d branch off and he’d tell me all about the series due to the fact my parents didn’t want me watching them. They believed they were trash. It took me until freshmen year of college before I finished watching them all. I remember specifically my mother going to Blockbuster to rent parts VII and VIII as well as Jason Goes to Hell for me to watch as I recovered from getting my wisdom teeth removed.
