Breaking down the many faces of the Akrida

Ākrīḍa (आक्रीड) refers to a “garden” according to the second chapter (dharaṇyādi-varga) of the 13th-century Raj Nighantu or Rājanighaṇṭu (an Ayurvedic encyclopedia). The Dharaṇyādi-varga covers the lands, soil, mountains, jungles [viz., Ākrīḍa] and vegetation’s relations between trees and plants and substances, with their various kinds.

Now, I'm not going to break this into a full anthropology lesson on pah2sohn's evolution into Pushan and Pan, and it gets tricky and long anyway since written record that far back is thin to say the least.
