I really truly still can't get over the Legends Z-A announcement. Everything about it. ULTIMATE Crazy ass moments in Pokemon history. We had Unova game vs. Johto game rumors and theories flying around for half a goddamn YEAR. People were pointing out paintings of Lugia and Ho-oh in Detective Pikachu 2, Kitakami's dex full of Johto 'mons, Indigo Disk's 32847872 Unova references, the Paradox Legendary Johto AND Unova Trios. The OFFICIAL POKEMON TWITTER was posting cryptic gifs of Reshiram and Zekrom in the weeks leading up to Pokemon Day. The day before the stream people were waving around 4chan "leaks" of Legends Celebi, ILCA BW remakes, Black & White 3. None of us went into that direct knowing what we were gonna get.

And then it was Pokemon Day and the Pokemon Presents premieres and it's start to finish full of Johto nods, Unowns bouncing around and Raikou in Pkmn Sleep and Silver in Masters. They slap THIS FUCKER up there seconds before the final teaser trailer of the stream.

And then we get that teaser.

And then we get hit with "Lumiose City"

And then It's not Johto. It's not Unova. It's the region we haven't seen in an actual literal decade.

And then a single letter changes everything.

AND THEN THE HITS JUST KEEP COMING ONE AFTER ANOTHER. Legends "Z-A." The A looks like the Ultimate Weapon. Releasing 2025. Not this year. For once in so, so long a Pokemon mainline game isn't coming this year. It's like exhaling a breath I didn't know I was holding. The screen goes black and every expectation we could have possible have has been flung out a Kalos-shaped window.

And then they give us one last little treat for the road

Just an absolutely unbelievable presentation. They played us like complete fiddles. They're sending our asses to FRANCE. And I can't help but smile so big just thinkin about it!! This is the first Pokemon announcement I've seen in YEARS where the majority of folks have been not just surprised but this joyful, EXHILARATED surprised, just absolutely going nuts over 10 years of memes and jokes and game wishes that are finally getting their due. And it's just infectious. There's something really magical in the comradery and shared excitement and I'm never gonna forget it. I love Pokemon. Welcome back and welcome home, Zygarde.

people trying to insist that oras is as bad as bdsp that is CRAZY

#oras was literally a cultural phenomenon back in 2014. the hype for it was absolutely unprecedented. #and deserved as well they are impeccably good games. #like yes no battle frontier it's heartbreaking whatever but like every other aspect they built on made up for its absence imo #the delta episode and being able to fight deoxys in SPACE cements it in my top 3 mainline games without fail. #but i'm also biased. i am a hoenn child at heart. i can't begin to articulate the impact its release had on me at the time. #i genuinely remember tearing up in my fucking home ec class in junior high when i perused tumblr and saw that it had been announced. #like GOD!!! they're just so good. #like my only genuine complaint is that it suffers from the gen 6 curse of being a little too easy at time but #besides that they are masterpieces to me!! idc!! #and even if you prefer frlg or hgss as remakes there is no CONCEIVABLE way that it should be compared to bdsp. #they are not even on the same plane together. bdsp is an unapologetic dumpster fire. oras actually had effort and care put into it. #anyways it's trending rn on twitter and mx pokemonRUBY felt inclined to give their opinion. :) #also oras gave us impeccable redesigns. like wallace's salacious drip? having an intense moment of "why am i even putting forth all the effort to write this 30k+ word fic when only one person is going to care about it and that person already knows everything that happens" tonight (not helped by the last 30k word fic i put out getting 9 kudos and one singular comment) and trying to remind myself that i write because i like writing, because there are stories i want to tell and that even if i'm only telling them to myself it's still worthwhile

but also. it's a struggle when part of why i write and post things is because i want to connect with other people through telling stories and making them feel things the way the stories i read make me feel things, and when there's no evidence that people connect with the things i write....ugh. it gets to feeling pointless

i know. i know. and i won't let depression or anxiety prevent me from doing one of the only hobbies i still can participate in, and the creative outlet i've had for years. tonight is just...being very ugh about it. maybe because the scene i'm working on is being very tricky and a struggle to get through right now and i only have the aforementioned one single person to hype it.

I am getting so tired of having to check everything new for AI shit. Sometimes its hard to notice or find out (if it's not just art) and so often I dont even think to check. A new game comes out and seems fun, you buy it and learn a few days later that the main dev/devs are apparently advocates for using AI for just about anything. I'm tired. I don't want to have to go through this shit so often.

just watched the fnaf movie and omg ?? i actually really liked it ?? i had no expectations for it, as in, i didn't expect it to be good or bad, but i am still incredibly surprised by it ! i am pretty glad they decided to not follow all the lore entirely and kind of gave it their own twist because if they attempted to make it 100% cannon it would have all been an absolute mess . . really enjoyed the movie, really happy i went out to see it, and as far as i could tell by the reactions of the people around me, everyone seemed to like it too hehe. sort of a spoiler ahead ig so be warned, but my fav character was 100% balloon boy because why was he there ? what was he up to ? did i miss something ? i'm assuming maybe it was supposed to be a little easter egg, but i absolutely loved it either way — in fact, i loved all the little more direct references to the games that i caught ! like the scene where they all ganged up on afton ?? hello ?? absolutely fantastic. also adored the music they played when the movie ended there possibly couldn't have been a better choice for the soundtrack ! the most op character was 100% the cupcake tho also loved that little guy ngl

Forever feeling that Final Fantasy Type-0 was done dirty, no matter the circumstances. They had such a fun world and lore yet knowing we won’t ever get a Type-Next infuriates me.

Like they really teased and made a beautiful-strange yet hype teaser for a sequel-Ace in wearing samurai armor, being revived by a fire lady and just looking so cool! I want more for the series 😔
