As much as bearded vultures are not only my favorite dinosaur, but my favorite animal in general, I feel like non-avian dinosaur designs using bearded vulture colors and markings are extremely overdone. 😅 However… I am in the midst of making new avatars for all my blogs and I want them to all have the same theme (bearded vulture). Which I guess means I gotta put bearded vulture markings on another dino. For this, I have chosen Yutyrannus huali.

Ana mac Calypsos of Bullais (The king of flowers) was the ruler of Bullais and known for being an impressive war engineer and strategist, regarded as a tyrant king who neglected her most vulnerable people in her kingdom. She later contracts turbeculosis which leads to her downfall.

Sebastian II of Akros was born in Y’smau but was married off to a duchess in Timoia as soon as he was old enough to marry, when she passed away, he claimed and fought for the title of his wife, becoming the duke in her place. He conquered the neighboring duchies and founded his own kingdom (Akros), he would sire many children and marry again but would develop cancer in his 50′s and loose his kingdom to the Emperor, with his kids now adults and away from home and the loss of his land, he returned to Y’smau to spend his time with his brother (High King Thy’rell) and some of his close family in his final moments of his life.

Yutyrannus!Yuriy for Yuriy birthday!

I've gotta say this one was harder to design that I thought! I had a couple pattern ideas that I both liked and choosing one was difficult.

Dinosaur funfact for Yutyrannus huali:

The name means 'feathered tyrant' with huali meaning 'beautiful'. So beautiful feathered tyrant;

It's a proceratosaurid tyrannosauroid;

It is the largest known carnivorous dinosaur species with direct evidence of feathers;

Known from 3 complete fossil specimens: an adult a subadult and a juvenile;

A partial dinosaur tooth of an indeterminate theropod from an unknown locale. It was labeled as possibly from the Yixian Formation thus potentially Yutyrannus huali. However, the odd orange preservation does not match that of this deposit according to those familiar with the formation; I'm also not sure if that darkened spot was caused by fire damage. The distal serration density of 20-21/5mm seems a bit high for Yutyrannus based on what's described from Sinotyrannus which is around 15-16/5mm, and it's unclear whether the tooth has a mesial carinae. There is a possibility that it belongs to the Cretaceous carcharodontosaurian tooth taxon, Prodeinodon. A very unusual tooth, but unfortunately the dubious provenance makes identification extremely difficult if not impossible.

Been spitballing designs for an Argonian companion for my Nerevarine Teldryn playthrough and headcanon. Honestly I'm just smashing Teldryn and a bunch of my Morrowind ocs together to create his younger self. But one of the things I'm carrying forward from an old character is being accompanied by an argonian "Mom". So here she is- a big butch lesbian lizard, based off of yutyrannus huali. Because we don't have enough dinosaur argonians.
