winter market • My last market of 2022. That’s a wrap for the holiday season. Unfortunately it was very empty, no sales were made, and I spent a lot of my time prepping, packing and attending. It was sad to be there and experience it for all the people working hard to provide a beautiful shopping experience, paying market venue fees, most of them not breaking even, and feeling like time wasted over a weekend that could’ve been filled with much more. Nonetheless, I’ll keep creating as we all feel beaten down some days, and we ride the wave to come back out of it. Also, I’m so grateful to have @yellowtailwood by my side who helped me so much with it all. Kudos to all the partners out there with supporting the hustle! Aidan’s vases were a hit with anyone who visited my booth; everyone touched their smooth to perfection finishing. Spontan zur Fahrt ins Grüne eingeladen worden. Dem 24/ 7 Atelier malen/ Schlafen/ sport/ malen/ schlafen, entkommen. Heiße Feuerzangenbowle ( Heißer Rotwein glaube Ich ) mit Zimt brennenden Zimt Zucker Hut und 80% prozentigen Alkohol. Weihnachtsmarkt Rur See. Dazu 2 Waffeln mit Puderzucker, ein Lachs Crêpes, Ein Brioche ( Eifeler Rindfleisch Delikatesse), und ein Eifeler Rand ( Rindfleisch Grill Spezialität ), und eine heisse Schokolade mit Sprühsahne, und Amaretto. Alle attraktiven Frauen auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt haben sich zu fällig immer wieder gezeigt. Droge Aufmerksamkeit. Zu alt, Kinder, nicht Schön genug, schon 16 aber noch keine 18, Etc. Trotzdem schön gewesen. Wollten zum Weihnachtsmarkt nach Kommern, der hatte aber schon zu früh zu. Die Frauen auf den Weihnachtsmärkten in den Städten sind auch alle zu alt. Auf dem Land, sind die Waffeln aus selbstgemachteren Teig. Kein Teig aus dem Tiefkühl Gastronomie Industrie Essen Katalog, die Landschaft , und Anfahrt ist schöner. Sternenhimmel. Grund für Landpartie. In zwei Wochen irgendwo auf dem Land die Räuber Hotzenplotz Verfilmung im Kino gucken. Die Photos mit dem tristen dicken Doppelkinn sind gut. Erinnerung: Obst, Gemüse, Sport, Bewegung, Geradere Körperhaltung, Gewichte heben, und Sport. 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞, 𝙹𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝙵𝚛𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚗𝚒𝚙𝚙𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚗𝚘𝚜𝚎 …

It’s midmorning, and Saem had been looking for reasons to get out of the house now he was boot-free. He’d only been out to the clubs a few times since, but he’d not gone home with anyone—he’d begun to feel conflicted about a certain man, and it had led him to find none of the men in the clubs appealing enough, when he knew he could call the person he really wanted to see and simply spend the night with him instead. Saem, however, did not do that. At least not often. While he was fine with himself developing a rather intense attachment to Sarang, he didn’t want Sarang to do the same back—he couldn’t live with himself if he hurt him, and he knew very well that his future held nothing but misery, as much as he wanted it to hold a happy life with someone he loved.

Of course, it would be Christmas morning that all this ran through Saem’s mind as he sang along to the Christmas carols with the people around him. Serious thoughts simply can’t be reserved for a moment when he has time to actually think about them, instead he’s trying desperately to not think about it as he sings Jingle Bells. Instead, he forces himself to look back over the past year, which, if he’s being honest, has been wholly uneventful up until the autumn. He supposes this is how life will be for him from now on, stuck in a job where he sees more dead people than alive ones, and has to marry some woman he’ll never love. There are, he supposes, positives to his life currently. He’s got a good income, meaning he can buy himself lots of nice things to make himself feel better about his situation, and he’s not bad looking, so he can, pretty much, bed any man he bats his eyelashes at in the clubs.

Saem adamantly does not think about Sarang, and his feelings towards him. Not about how they met, or how after that day Saem’s life was, very quickly, flipped on it’s head, at least in his mind. It’s easy saying he doesn’t mind falling in love, but in theory, merely budding feelings for someone had made him realise how unrealistic it was to think he could simply have feelings for a man and be totally fine with them not being reciprocated. He is, after all, human. Saem, however, is a logical person, and logic wins over emotions every single time. So, he’s come to terms with the fact that something in him is changing in regards to Sarang. but it will never be acknowledged aloud, never acted upon, and that has to be okay. If he wants to enjoy whatever time he has with Sarang, he can’t ever let him know how he feels, and he can’t let Sarang feel the same, as much as he wishes he would, could...

The new year approaching will, hopefully, hold stability, pleasure, simplicity and regularity for Saem. He wants his life to be full of immediate pleasures, things that will, if only for a day, make him forget the dark prospects awaiting him in his future. This year had been, for the most part, exactly as Saem had wished it would be, but he’d not been lucky enough to escape without a complication. Even now, as he stands and sings, he’s thinking of how he wants to see Sarang alter that day, to spend Christmas with him. Will he be able to control that desire? He’s not sure, but he hopes that if he isn’t, Sarang is already busy—he can’t let him get hurt, because Saem can’t offer him forever, as much as he wants to.

Jun should really be at home in bed right now. It’s almost 10am on Christmas day, and he’s stood out in the cold with Ollie, who doesn’t look much more awake, or pleased to be here than Jun. Why they’d decided to do this, he has no idea, and he’s regretting it when he starts feeling the bite of the winter morning on his skin, but at least there’s a free breakfast afterwards. Things have been a little weird with Ollie since early November, when Jun witnessed his one night stand heading out that morning. Living with the knowledge that Ollie wasn’t, in fact, straight, had sort of thrown Jun a little off-kilter. Then, just a week ago, there had been that kiss.

God, that kiss. Jun couldn’t stop thinking about it, and he didn’t even have college assignments to take his mind off it all since winter break had begun. What did it mean? Had it all been a heat-of-the-moment thing, fuelled by nothing more than a need for something physical in that moment? At least, he knew for him, it had meant something. That thought alone though sits uneasily in his belly. Having strange feelings for his best friend is something he’d never thought he’d have to deal with, and he’s wholly underprepared. Having spent so long now trying to be okay with his feelings for men, he suddenly feels as though he’s starting all over again. That shame and guilt rests heavily inside him, like a dead weight on his chest. Ollie’s his best friend, a man, and one who, up until recently, Jun had assumed to be completely straight, despite things they’d done during their early teens; things that any early-pubescent teen gets up to with their friends when they’ve stolen some alcohol from their parents.

As they stand side by side, and begin to sing with everyone else who’d showed up, Jun’s hand leaves his pocket and searches for Ollie’s grabbing it and pulling it along with his own back into his pocket. He doesn’t look at him, just looks around at the other people in the crowd, knowing his cheeks are flushed but hoping that the cold will explain it away. He’s apprehensive for the new year, and what will happen between him and Ollie, because there’s a chance it could all turn sour, and he can’t handle the thought of losing his best friend. He’d been with him for so much of his life now that he can’t imagine what it would be like without him in it. Empty, his brain answers of it’s own accord. Jun can’t argue with that. Ollie takes up so much of his brain, so much of the free time in his days that without him Jun fears he’d be entirely alone, even when he had other friends around him. Ollie isn’t just present in his home, he’s present in his heart, and admitting that to himself sends bolts of nervousness coursing through him.

He finally looks over and sighs. Ollie is, perhaps, the most handsome person Jun had ever met. He’s pretty, too, in a boyish way—a way that makes Jun’s stomach twist and flutter. He’d felt this way for a long time, and yet only recently, as if unlocked by that kiss, it had begun to spread and take root in all the little corners of him. His feelings for Ollie, whatever they may be, both terrify and excite him, but Jun has no idea how to handle them. He can’t ever let Ollie find out, and so he needs to find a way to continue to be around him all the time without that feeling growing so large in his chest that it suffocates him, or worse, slips out through one of the many cracks in his exterior, and risk Ollie seeing it.

No, his feelings have to stay hidden.
