So I saw the update on projections for DWD to make $18-20M this weekend for the box office numbers. This is actually really good for a non-franchise movie, right? So many people are laughing at it saying that’s a flop but that’s a really strong opening weekend for a movie in this genre, correct? It will continue to make money after the first week too. Then you have Larries in the quotes saying My Policeman will do better than that and I’m like 🤔 It’s a limited showing release that won’t be in many theaters at all, I don’t think it could possibly bring that much in on opening weekend. The Amazon streaming numbers for MP should be great but I don’t see it being a box office smash at all, just based on its release and the type of movie it is. Curious to hear your thoughts.

According to Variety, Don't Worry Darling is predicting a $17m - $20m opening weekend.

"~+~" Papa Aizetsu "~+~"

Aizetsu was walking along a snowy path. Holding his spear.

He continued to tread over the snow covered ground. His long, blue cape wrapped around him. He seemed to be on a mission of some sort. Whatever it is, only he knows. The other demons and humans are wary of him.. Because of his personality. He just glares in sadness as he walks forward.

"Where am I going..?"

He questioned himself. He seemed very confused.. It's as if he was seeking for an answer. Perhaps something that would bring him joy.. Happiness.. Something he never felt before..

"WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH, WAAAAAAHH WAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!"

Aizetsu heard the loud cries of a baby girl in the distance. He stared down at his spear before taking a deep breath. He slowly walked in the direction of the cries. He had an idea of what the baby was crying about.. But, that was for his own mind… Perhaps to see the baby?

He continued to follow the cries, his footsteps were heard throughout the snowy ground as he treaded through it.

"WAAAAAAAAH, WAHHHHHHHHHH, WAAAAAH WAHHHHHHH!!!"

She kept crying and crying, she was shivering in the freezing cold in her tiny diaper on her tiny baby legs. Where's her parents?

Aizetsu soon approached the crying baby. The blue demon stared down at the helpless infant. He was sad looking at such a sight. He could tell that it's been alone for a while.. The baby was covered in snow and ice.

"Poor little thing…"

He said in sadness as he continued to observe the infant.. He had no idea if it was mortal or demonic. Perhaps a mix of both?

"WAAAAH WAH WAAAHHH."

She continued to cry, the cold slowly got to the baby as she was freezing. She was very small and skinny, it looked like she hadn’t eaten in a while either. She desperately needed warmth and food and.. a caring parent..

"Shhhh… Little one…"

Aizetsu stared down at the crying baby. He felt a bit emotional.. The baby gave him weird feelings.. A mix of anxiety, joy and… love???? Yes.. That's it. Love. He felt something towards the baby that is similar to love?? But he couldn't wrap his thoughts around it completely. He then brought out a warm snuggly towel from his cape and wrapped it around the baby..

She slowly grew silent as you wrapped the towel around her body.. The warmth started to melt the ice and snow off her body slowly. The small baby seemed to feel more calm now, but she was still hungry and could’ve used a place to call home..

"Hmmm. Such a young and helpless demon child…"

Aizetsu looked down at the demon baby once again. He then looked around at the snowy environment and continued to wander around.. He looked behind for any signs of her parents but found nothing. No idea as to where they were. He slowly placed the baby inside the pouch of his cloak as he started walking in another direction.

The little crying has stopped.. She was now content being tucked away in the cloak of the blue demon. The little baby seemed to slowly drift off to sleep. Despite the cold that she experienced, the cloak kept her nice and warm, safe and comfortable. She was content for now.

The blue demon continued walking for a while. He eventually found a village nearby..

"This is it. This is where we can stay, Little One."

Aizeusu said in a happy and soft tone. He took the baby from the pouch as he placed her down on the snow covered ground. He made a cute sound to get her attention. He stared down at her once again, with a smile.. A smile that he hadn't done in decades.

The little baby opened her eyes as the demon made a nice sound to her. She was hungry and needed food.. She opened her tiny mouth in hopes of being fed. She slowly crawled towards him, staring up at the demon with her big dark blue eyes with hope as she reached her little arms for the demons help. The little demon baby wanted her papa to pick her up, but she was too hungry to speak..

The blue demon stared down at the little baby's adorable face. He saw the hunger in her belly. Perhaps she was hungry for food.. Or hungry for love..? Probably both. He then slowly picked the tiny baby up and held her in his arm. He continued to smile as he cradled her little body in his arms. He then made another cute sound to the baby. Perhaps she liked that sound?

The baby began to smile once you made a cute sound to her. She liked it a lot. She giggled a little before reaching for his face and touching his cheek. It seems she wanted to feel his face or perhaps she wanted affection from her papa..

"Awwww.."

Aizetsu was even more attracted to this cute baby now. All of the years of sadness, loneliness and anger in his heart was starting to melt and he was beginning to slowly show that he is capable of.. Happiness.. Love..

The blue demon was touched by the baby's actions. He stared down at the tiny demon as he held her. His sapphire blue eyes glowed with happiness. He was in a trance while admiring her cute little face. He chuckled a bit when the baby touched his cheek. The demon seemed a lot more soft and nicer than he was before.

"Hmmm.. What should your name be..?"

*He questioned to himself. He wanted to come up with a cute name for the little one.

The demon baby giggled when he chuckled at her. She started making a bunch of cute baby noises as she stared up at his face. She continued to touch his cheek and was being cute as a button. She had this adorable smile on her face.. Something about this demon baby.. It melts the sad demons heart..

"Ooooh~" (Papa, in baby language)

The baby said while pointing at his face. Was she calling him papa? Probably. The cute baby kept being cute as she reached up for your cheek. She wants something.. She wants her papa's cheek.

Aizetsu then found the name that he would like to give her. It was Yuki. A snow related name. Perfect fit for a Snow Demon like her.

"From now on. Your name shall be… Yuki."

Aizetsu looked down at her with such softness in his eyes. He then placed her on the snow covered ground and then took a knee. He reached his palm for Yuki to be able to grab.

Yuki slowly grabbed his palm as she stared up at him. She blinked a few times before making a cute noise at him. It seems like she liked the name that the demon gave her. She liked that the demon took a knee to grab her hand. She was content for now and seemed to enjoy all these little things with her papa. She giggled a bit while staring at him. This was a good start of their father and daughter relationship.

"Yuki"..

She tried to say her name, making a cute face afterwards.

Aizetsu seemed satisfied.. The Blue Demon was happy that Yuki liked the name he gave her. He then giggled back at her cute face. She seemed to show a lot of interest towards the demon.. Perhaps she really likes her papa?

"Yuki.."

He repeated the name as he got up. He then picked Yuki up once again as he carried her in his arms. He looked around at the nearby village..

"Let's go.. Yuki.."

Yuki wrapped her tiny arms around his neck as she wrapped his cape around her tiny body.. She was being cute as she rested her head on his chest. She seemed happy in his arms.. perhaps her papa has a chance to truly win her over..

"Yuki." She giggled a bit.

"Papa." she giggled again after she called him papa.

The Blue Demon chuckled a bit when she repeated her name. He was filled with joy. It seemed as though Yuki would become one his most beloved things in his life. Perhaps because she showed him affection, something he wasn't used to. He continued to walk as he stared down at his new child..

"Yuki.. I'm going to try my best to be an awesome papa towards you, Okay?"

Aizetsu said as he looked down at the baby.

Yuki chuckled and giggled as Aizetsu held her. She liked being held by him. Her papa seemed very warm and his cloak was soft and warm just like her mama used to have. Yuki liked that Aizetsu was a gentle demon and not like the other demons she was used to.. He was so nice to her and made her feel all warm inside and it had only been a few minutes since they first met.

"Yuuuu~ki."

She giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck again, wanting to be carried.

Aizetsu smiled as the little demon giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck. He slowly started to feel a warm and fuzzy feeling he haven't felt in decades.. Perhaps this was..

Love? Is that what this is?

He chuckled with joy as he walked forward with Yuki in his hands. He felt great.. He felt like he found something, something that he has been looking for..

"My little Yuki.. I hope one day I would be able to shower you in so much love and affection.. Just like a papa does with his cute baby girl.."

Yuki giggled and smiled as she was carried by her papa. She felt safe and secure in his arms. It felt like she was home again… home.. Where was home? Yuki didn't really know but all she knew was that..

"Papa."

She giggled as she stared up at Aizetsu. She was now happy and content with the demon and she wasn't going to leave him for anyone nor anything… She liked this papa.. He was the best.. And he could only be her papa. Yuki was going to win his heart..

BUT YES YES!!!! the puppet is just. another fucking organ, yea. which is so weird to say... i think of the puppets as fetuses from time to time because of the whole "umbilical" arm and "umbilical" cable business

perhaps the puppet bodies could be directly almost completely organic but hollowed out of mind and individuality in a manner to allow the iterator to plug into it and project their consciousness through it. it wouldn't be too outlandish for the Ancients to create a being for the sole purpose of causing it brain death upon its birth and then shoving the body into a box for a hivemind to claim. for fuck's sake afterall, those things that make up Metropolis might be very much alive too but not quite sentient enough to do much about their existence

i've had an idea cycling around my brain for so long of Nish giving a spook to one of the Ancients' children about how an Iterator is a hivemind given singular name and goal to be a singular being instead of millions. he says it in a joking way to wig out the kid a little but it's absolutely 100% true for once

i like to think that Sometimes the main body of the iterators (the superstructure) gets minimized into just "the can" by itself because the iterator gets a bit Too into seeing the puppet as their personification/self, to the point that they start to view That only as them despite their superstructure being alright. this results in one of the many kinds of madness an iterator can fall into - basically the cabin fever amped up, with their literal body causing them this mental decline
