Is MK the son of Macaque and Monkey king in your Tangled AU ? Would be an interesting sequel. Like in the first part of the story, it’s about red finding out where he came from and in the second it could be Mei just for the final reveal that MK is Monkey kings son. Maybe he has to find his parents or something. They would all get their secret, sad backstory ;)

No he is not their son. 😔

He and Macaque come from the same troop which is why he has four ears.

And don't worry, MK already has a sad backstory, both of his birth parents are probably dead, one of them is definitely dead, the other one I haven't decided yet.

There will be a part where he learns about what happened to his parents, spoiler alert it is very, very bad. And involves LBD.

And when Macaque and Wukong see this four eared monkey kid who's an infamous thief, has been using Wukong's old staff for years and shares a suspicious amount of similarities with their adopted daughter, they decided to add another kid to their troop of chaotic gremlins.

Red son gets home to his family like Rapunzel did. MAYBE ? Lets see. So does the almost execution of MK also happen like it almost did to Flynn Rider ? And would MK want to stay in the kingdom after getting Red hot to his family or would he want to go ?

Red does get home, after being severely traumatized again by LBD.

As for MK, no. He would not get sent to execution. He's a member of an endangered species and he is still a kid, 18 is like a baby to most demons, so he isn't going to be in as much trouble as he would if he got caught in literally any other kingdom he's wanted in.

He does get arrested, but more for the possible information he knows about LBD, not because he's a thief. There's still a jailbreak cause a certain monkey wanted to have some fun and didn't wanna do the paperwork, but no execution.

MK would want to stay in the kingdom (and with Red) for a few reasons, mainly being that the Ironbull Kingdom is the only place a monkey like him is safe, he is no longer a wanted criminal in that kingdom because of what he did, he is only other person outside of Mei that Red Son knows, and he has a sister he didn't know about before.

And his identity was revealed (probably by Mayor as payback after the LBD business) so it's a bit harder for him to go to other kingdoms he's a wanted monkey in.

Also his new dads grounded him for being reckless, disobeying direct orders and getting himself killed

So he's gonna pretend to be grumpy about having to stay, but he actually likes it and the sense of security it gives him. The guy's an orphan who's never really had a home or a family, and now he has both.

Flynn Rider MK has Macaque and Wukongs powers, is there a reason for that ?

MK and Macaque are from the same troop of demon monkeys, the Lotus Eared Macaques(LEMs) cause their ears are shaped like lotus petals. Most of the powers MK has he shares with Macaque and other LEMs.

The majority of LEMs have much less developed powers than MK does, at most they have 2-3 transformations to make life easier, they are all pretty good with the shadows though.

MK has spent a lot of time training his abilities to be able to do all the stuff he can do. And he can pick up Wukong's staff because, he can. He's physically and magically strong enough to pick it up and wield it without getting hurt.

Beyond Red/the Rapunzle stand in having a dragon bestie in the Tangled au, could other elements of the Barbie Rapunzle movie be added to your au as well; I just think it might be cool

In all honesty I haven't seen that movie in years and only remembered that Barbie Rapunzel had a dragon friend.

I might add some more of that movie into it when I watch it again and see something I like.

...is it bad that I sincerely hope that with the whole Eda raises two gods AU I sincerely hope that in the possible events of Hollow Mind, if Luz stumbles into a memory involving Belos hurting Enzo, well, her elder sister mode firmly turns on?

Enzo is still a very fragile baby by the time Luz meets them, the older sister mode is always on, seeing someone hurt Enzo would send her into no mercy big sis mode.

Belos might have a few holes in his mindscape once Luz finds out what he's done 😈
