#Uniqlo isn't cheap either

Okay I'm never buying from Uniqlo again. Last winter I bought a black turtleneck from the store because I'd gotten a yellow one from there a year before which is still good quality and cute af, but after two (2) washes a hole appeared on the sleeve. I thought, okay, fine, I can deal with it. Faith not lost in the company, I recently bought some basic boxy button down shirts to wear to work and after one (1) wash they have discolourations on the fabric. I read the label and apparently discolouration is common and you have to actually hand wash it seperately because it loses colour when rubbed against other fabrics which is so dumb?? A fast fashion company can't even make a linen shirt last more than one wash?? The cherry on the cake is now my original yellow turtleneck has a hole on the left shoulder. Can't wear this shit. Such a waste of money.

Summary: When Ainosuke and Tadashi have a free day, Tadashi opts for a staycation, to Ainosuke's dismay. [Written for Tadashi Kikuchi Week 2022 | Day 7: Vacation]
“This is really all that you want?”
“Yes.”
Tadashi turned the next page of his book, his eyes following the path of his finger as it traced its way down lines of characters.
“You can tell me if you want something else,” Ainosuke persisted, and Tadashi looked up. His lover was pouting slightly as he sprawled over the couch, dressed casually in a T-shirt and sweatpants. And the older man smiled.
“This really is enough, Ainosuke.”
“We could take a day trip somewhere, you know. Maybe spend the night at a ryokan, and I’d treat you to kaiseki. Or we could have hopped over to Toyosu for fresh sushi, if you didn’t want to go too far. It’s not too late for karaoke, either.”
Tadashi had no doubt that Ainosuke would have enjoyed all of those things—and he might have, too. But he had so few quiet moments with the other man that these ones were all the more precious. It was rare for them to have a slow day, so when Ainosuke had asked him what he wanted to do today, Tadashi had answered honestly: he just wanted to spend the day together at their apartment in Tokyo. Since they were already here for a session, it meant that they didn’t have to take a late flight back to Okinawa, and the apartment was more than equipped for an overnight stay. It was why they kept it, after all: on the occasions that Ainosuke had to work late and had early morning meetings, they’d simply come back here. All that Tadashi had needed to do to prepare for today was stop by Uniqlo to pick up a few sets of casual wear, since all either of them had here were suits.
Really, though, Ainosuke could pull off anything. Even in cheap, fast fashion with his hair down, he was attractive enough to turn heads on the street. Not that Tadashi intended to allow anyone else to see him like this.
With a sigh, he slipped a bookmark between the pages of his book before turning to face Ainosuke head-on, offering the younger man his hand.
“Come here.”
Ainosuke’s eyes lit up, and he quickly got to his feet to approach his lover. When he took Tadashi’s hand, the older man tugged him down into his lap, wrapping his arms around Ainosuke’s waist to pull him close.
“I’m sorry that you’re not enjoying this,” he apologized, looking up into scarlet eyes. “Next time, you can pick what we do. Does that sound good?”
“That’s not it,” Ainosuke protested, though Tadashi spotted a flash of guilt cross his face. “I just…"
"It's alright." Tadashi leaned forward to press his lips to Ainosuke's cheek.
"No. It really isn't that," Ainosuke insisted, even as he rested his hands on Tadashi's shoulders and returned the kiss distractedly. "You just always want so little. I don't want you to hold back. At least, not when it's just the two of us."
"I'm not. As long as we're together, that's enough for me. And isn't a day like this okay, once in a while? We can both just rest."
Ainosuke made a noncommittal sound in response, and Tadashi shook his head as he tugged the man closer, pressing Ainosuke's head to his shoulder.
"Rest," he insisted, picking up his book again. With the warmth and weight of his lover's body resting against his, he continued to read. Gradually, he felt Ainosuke relax against him, his breathing slowing as he dozed. And he smiled to himself: he really couldn't imagine a better vacation.
