Ever since Master Duel's Xyz Festival, I've had a new respect for Utopia decks, so it's cool that some of that's now in Duel Links, also featuring a new Utopia animation
i was trying to remember what deck i used for the last time Mr.Chrissy McFive Guys came to town because it wasn't my usual D/D/D since synchros don't have a damage boost on him
and then i had a vision of me playing duel links during that event while sitting in the front lobby of a hotel on a very specific chair and exactly what deck i was using
generally my memory's really bad so it's very strange i remembered something so specific
Xyz raid events are fun because I get to use my absolutely not the way you're intended to play Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray deck
Did you know that if you summon it when not in Zexal mode, there isn't a precursor cutscene to the summoning animation? It just hangs there awkwardly until the animation starts playing.
This episode is also written by Shin Yoshida, but since this is WDC finals, it has really nice animation, though some segments are likely rotoscoped.
ZEXAL form's arm shield serves as a bag of holding that can store anything. Yuma retrieves Duel Lunch from it, allowing Astral in ZEXAL form to also enjoy it.
Number 69's third, and final form, also called its true form appears in this episode. This form appears in Resurgam Xyz's artwork, so it is almost certainly going to become its own card.
After Byron's defeat, he releases all the souls he captured (given by the animation, these are implied to include Kaito's captured souls as well), similar to end of the Doma arc. After he sacrifices himself to save Yuma, he releases the souls of his sons from his hand.
This episode debuts ZW - Tornado Bringer, which will likely have its own Utopia Ray form. Of course, the big debuts are ZW - Leo Arms, and its equipped form, which became its own card, Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray, whose design is based off ZEXAL I form. Despite appearing in OP4, this is the only episode it appears.
After Sphere Field captures Numbers, and dispatches Byron back to the void between realms (he will come back in Nasch vs. Yuma), Yuma is captured in Sphere Field to Heartland Tower.
Breaking news! A special campaign for the online event "KC Grand Tournament 2022" on Duel Links starts May 19. The card players will receive is an UR "Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray" ("Beast-Equipped Union - Lio Hope Ray" in the Japanese version of ZEXAL). There's also the following rewards: UR and SR Dream Tickets, 1,000 Gems, a Skill Ticket, and a new Skill.
I was confused why the Zexal support in Lightning Overdrive had the whole 100 LP restriction, it was apparently a reference to Fuma vs. Yuma&Astral, the first two parter of ZEXAL II.
Anyway, apparently Z-ARC's close-up to its yellow eye in the original timeline in Leo's flashback is apparently a reference to Utopia Ray's eye shape. They both have camera lens looking eyes.
(I don't know if I will post this in Yuri vs. Yuya, but yes, Odd-Eyes' feet are also feet also based on Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray's feet.)
I guess "Celestial Magician of Hope, Arc-Ray" is going to be a thing.
as NPCs. This means we will be shifting to Barians for Duel Links very soon, so Number 96 and Vector should be soon, assuming Alito and Girag aren’t the first guys. RIP Playable Quinton.
Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray also has an animation, since it was technically the form used against Vetrix, even though it wasn’t a physical card at the time.
