been playing thousand year old vampire the last couple days (it rules) but am finding that the major downside to playing journal style in actual writing is that my brain is constantly ‘one more i gotta know what happens next!!!’ and my hand is like ‘you’ve been writing for 3 hours please stop and go do something else or i am going to fall off!!!’

#UNFORTUNATELY playing this game pen and paper is terribly inconvienient. #for several reasons #which the game designer literally wrote in the book LMFAO #however. i love Objects so much that to not make a weird little journal full of terrible deeds and tragic memory loss would be a crime #there are probably more efficient ways to organize than what i'm doing as well (and certainly if you're doing the quick version) #i'm having fun though so who's really losing here #(the answer is my fingers who have to suffer the crimes of my pencil death grip) #it speaks #actually though beyond aesthetics and materiality something i really value abt physically journalling it is that i don't tend to actually... #read what i'm writing. and since it's ostensibly a creative writing game i would be spending soooo much time #reading and rereading and editing and fretting over word choice and phrasing if i were typing it and it really think that would take me out #bc this way i'm just fully stream of consciousness which keeps me focused on the actual situations i'm reacting to and choices i'm making #who cares wtf that paragraph actually says but it got me to the point where i knew where my character was At
