Character Rollout

I wanted to put out a list of all of my other blogs, since I’m splitting them from this one in order to make life easier. I’ll get my hub page back up and running soon. (Just need to get png’s of all my characters first.) This blog is going to stay focused on Uulii, but since it is my main, I’ll still share things from my other characters regularly. All RP through this blog will be for her, though. 

Uulii! You are here! (Mateus)

Uulii Qalli is a wandering writer/warrior of light, depending on the verse of those she interacts with. She’s into fashion, music, reading and nature, and regularly travels, though she is afraid of the ocean, so she’ll avoid travel by ship if possible. Very friendly and open!

Nyr Raiah/Una’a Bajhiri (Mateus)

Nyr is a doctor and void hunter, who just so happens to also be afflicted by a void-based curse. He’s hunting down any and all voidsent tied to Diabolos in order to try and find a way to cure both him and his brother ( @unatobajhiri ) before it’s too late for them. He’s a little bit feral, very much grumpy, but truly caring for others down at his core. This sad boy could use some friends.

Nagatsuki Aranami (Mateus)

Naga is an ex-yakuza samurai who was raised an orphan on the steppe, and fled to Eorzia and started a new life after the first Doman rebellions. He left with his apprentice and ward, as well as the woman who his boss had hired to kill him. ( @ochmoks​ ) They’re now a happy couple who regularly threaten each other. Endearingly. His current goal in life is to find his long-lost younger sister, who he has been searching for for years.

Nezh’a Moshantu (Mateus)

Debonair, charmer, master thief, puckish rogue. Nezh’a is a hopeless romantic who flirts with anything that moves. He used to work in a thieves guild in Limsa Lominsa, before his partner framed him for a job-gone-wrong, tried to kill him, and left him for dead floating out at sea. He survived, and has started rebuilding a life for himself in Ul’Dah, though he plans to return and set things right eventually. No matter the means.

Reol Resnik (Mateus)

Reol happily lives out her days in Dravania, where she spends most of her time with dragons. She takes in orphaned dragons and abandoned eggs, teaching them how to survive, and eventually sending them off into the world. Of course, there are those who choose to live with her, and, of course, she takes the opportunity to allow them to transport her. Thus, she gainer her reputation as a dragon rider, even though dragon caretaker is much more accurate. Feel free to visit. She’s doing her best to train the little ones to not bite, but can’t make any promises.

Nea Yugure (Balmung)

Nea is a fox spirit who is fascinated with people, so much so that she took on a form in order to walk among them. She loves playing games, and is a sucker for a good story. She can be a bit awkward at times, and is fairly gullible. If she finds out she’s been tricked though, expect to be tormented for the rest of your days. If she has anything on her side, it’s time.

“Valdis” Eir (Mateus)

Eir is a pixie from Il Mheg, though she’s not similar to those most know. Eir is far more devious, spiteful, and aggressive than the other pixies. So much so that she has earned a reputation as a menace. She doesn’t mind the title though, and continues to play games her way. She regularly takes the form of a viera in order to blend in and trick people easier, though anyone with a careful eye will notice how off she seems. She avoids confrontation when possible, and hates having the tables turned on her. What are you talking about? What’s a pixie? She’s Valdis, the totally normal rabbit lady!

V’Nefaria Ndai (Mateus)

V’Nefaria (Nick. Neffie) is a pirate captain from Ala Mhigo with no lack of confidence or pride, though she’s a bit lacking in the area of modesty. Crass to her core, she fits right in on the sea. She regularly takes shore leave in Ul’Dah however, so she’s still easy enough to find. (Neffie will soon be taking a hiatus for story reasons! If you want to interact with her before she goes on break, now is the time!)

I have a lot of other characters, but they’re more one-off types, that are just for fun and running around as, while these eight are much more plot and story intensive, and open for regular interaction. The honorable mention however, ALWAYS has to go to the boy...

Tuluy Himaa (Mateus)

Tuluy is one of four “twin-twins.” (read quadruplets.) He is the second oldest, most headstrong, the most-stupid (as appointed by Tului) (don’t play hoof it.), the self proclaimed first-handsomest, and just as awful as the other three. If you see him, he usually has Tului attached to his hip, if not closeby.In all honesty, he’s sort of a loveable-idiot who gets better the further away he is from his siblings. He’s easily persuaded, and loves to go along with Tului’s ideas.

PNP eyes new strategy to address street crimes: Año

#PHnews: PNP eyes new strategy to address street crimes: Año

MANILA – Interior Secretary Eduardo Año on Sunday promised to employ a new strategy in running after criminals after President Rodrigo Duterte expressed the need to purchase new motorcycles for the Philippine National Police (PNP) to help prevent street crimes.

“Gagawa kami ng strategy (We will prepare a strategy). It would be a combination of uniformed and non-uniformed policemen just for that purpose. Lilinisin natin yung mga kalsada na yan ng masasamang loob (We will clear the streets of criminals),” Año said in an interview over DZBB.

Año said he directed PNP chief Gen. Camilo Cascolan to submit requirements on the acquisition of new motorcycles that will strengthen policemen's capability to prevent and respond to street crimes.

“With the order of the President, nag-usap kami ni Gen. Cascolan. Sabi ko submit yung requirements nung motorsiklo pa na kailangan natin at ilang mga tao ang kailangan natin i-train. Ito yung mga special units na gagawin namin para maghabol lang ng mga criminals na gumagamit ng motorsiklo, mga nagka-carnap ng motorsiklo, mga nanghoholdap gamit yung motorsiklo (I talked to Gen. Cascolan, I told him to submit requirements for the necessary motorcycles and some personnel who need to be trained. We will use these special units to run after criminals using motorcycles, those involved in carnapping and holdup,” he said.

He said members of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) have already been undergoing training to improve their capability to go after street criminals.

In his public address last Wednesday, Duterte said he intended to “go hard” against criminals in the last two years of his term, noting an upsurge of street crimes after quarantine classifications were relaxed.

The President said he understood the "nightmare" that police are facing in chasing motorcycle-riding suspects who could easily get away after committing crimes.

Duterte, a motorcycle enthusiast, said it is not enough for cops to know how to ride a motorcycle, but should undergo training.

He asked Año to plan the purchase of motorcycles, suggesting that the 250cc motorcycles "would be a good one".

Año lauded Duterte’s intention to provide new motorcycles for the law enforcers to effectively address street crimes.

“Palagi naman kaming merong provisions sa pagbili ng mga patrol cars at mga motorcycles but with this instruction of the President natutuwa kami kasi mukhang magbibigay siya ng additional budget para sa immediate procurement ng motorsiklo. So mas maganda yan kaysa aantayin mo yung regular na budget pero mas maganda kung magkakaroon ng special fund at magkaroon kami ng immediate procurement (We always include provisions for the purchase of patrol cars and motorcycles but with this instruction of the President, we are happy because it seems he will provide an additional budget for the immediate procurement of motorcycles. It is better than waiting for a regular budget. If there will be a special fund, we can have immediate procurement),” he said.

Año also said the campaign of the PNP to address the street crimes will not spare “some” police personnel.

“There are very few in the past kasi alam mo naman napakalaki ng pulis, 200,000 policemen sa organization. Minsan nga kahit sa isang pamilya merong lalabas na black sheep hindi ba. So kailangan tuloy-tuloy yung pagbabantay natin sa disiplina, behavior ng ating policemen at hindi natin papayagan yan (because we know PNP is 200,000 policemen organization. Even in a family, there is a black sheep. So, we need constant monitoring in discipline, the behavior of our policemen and we will not allow those involved in street crimes),” he said.

He promised to jail policemen who continue to engage in criminal activities as part of the ongoing PNP’s internal cleansing program.

“Mas dobleng galit natin kapag ganyan. Talagang gusto natin mabulok sa kulungan yung mga ganyang klaseng pulis. Makakaasa kayo na una natin tatargetin yan mga pulis na involve sa mga krimen (We really hate this kind of behavior. We want them rotten in prison. You can expect that we will run first against policemen involved in crimes),” he said.

He said the PNP also continues to go after the so-called “ninja cops”, police officers who are engaged in the recycling of confiscated illegal drugs.

“Tuluy-tuloy yung kampanya natin sa pagsugpo, pagtanggal sa serbisyo at pagkakaso sa mga ninja cops. Yung mga controversial na mga ninja cops na pinag-usapan sa Senado, sa publiko, tanggal na sa serbisyo lahat ng mga yan. Nadismiss na natin yun (Our campaign continues in eliminating, removing from services and filing of cases against ninja cops. Those controversial ninja cops identified in the Senate hearing, they have been removed from services. They have been dismissed already),” he said.

Cascolan earlier said more than 4,000 police officers were dismissed from the service as part of the intensified internal cleansing program of the PNP. (PNA)

An open letter to the person whom I thought will be my happily ever after but only ended up my once upon a time:

Hi. Naaalala mo pa ba? lol okay lang kung hindi na. So this blog post will be about you na naman, don’t worry last na ‘to. Let’s start this pa open letter ko sayo lol.

First I want to thank you, kasi pinakilig mo ko kahit na 1 month lang. Nafeel ko na I’m special dahil sa mga good morning, good night at ingat ka na text/chat mo sakin. It felt so good lalo na first time kong maranasan yung mga ganun dahil NBSB ako. Also, you inspired me lalo na nung finals na tinadtad kami ng mga requirements and quizzes but still I managed to finish every fcking requirements because I was so happy and motivated because of you. Yung kahit kulang tulog ko okay lang kasi alam ko kagising ko makakachat na naman kita. Yung dami ko pang gagawin pero magsisipag akong matapos yun para makachat na kita ng tuluy-tuloy. Tapos when I first saw you personally, I slept with a smile on my face and every time I think of you that smiling face of yours always pops out. At that time my heart hurts so good and I thought that maybe your my happily ever after. Thank you because I met you. You gave me experiences and lessons in life that money couldn’t buy.

So this is the second part – sorry if you got bored while talking to me. Sorry if I got myself attached to you. Sorry if I’m making all of these a big deal. Sorry. I just want to say sorry for everything.

Hindi ko alam kung bakit di dumating yung time na nagalit ako sayo ng sobra o ayokong marinig ang pangalan mo. You're lucky because your name didn't became a taboo. Maybe I somehow judged you and agreed to what my friends said na you're a fckboi but then I realize that you are not. Sabi nga ng kaibigan ko, you're sweet to everyone and I got attached to you so it means that it was all my fault. Tanggap na ng sarili ko na ako talaga yung mali, na ako lang talaga ang umasa at may kasalanan ng lahat ng kung anuman ang nangyagare sa sarili ko ngayon. Hindi ko alam pero ang saya ko lalo na dumating na yung time na 'to – na pagod na ko at ayoko na. Finally! Pagod na kong magmukmok at malungkot tungkol sa nangyare satin. Pagod na kong umasa na babalik ka. Pagod na ko sa kadramahang ito. Pagod na talaga ako.

'nywys may bago ka na atang gusto na girl. Goodluck and God bless sa inyo. Sana maging masaya ka sa kanya at please lang wag mo siyang iiwan sa ere. Or maybe you’ll not do that kasi nga gusto mo talaga siya unlike me na parang option lang.

So enough with this self pity, self love lang dapat. Alam ko ilang beses kong sinabi yung “self love” na yun pero this time totoo na talaga. 💛 I also want to free my heart from this sadness, nakakasakal na kasi minsan.

Title, um, uhh... shizzumz in my mind at 3 AM to 4 AM?

I want an architect for a husband, I thought, after reading some chapters from one of my favorite stories from Costa Leona Series.

I know for sure that after re-reading another story from the same series with a protagonist who's a civil engineer, I'll fantasize about having one for a husband. LOL.

Noon, I don't have specifics kapag dating sa title or job or occupation ng future husband ko. All I ever think is dapat magaling siya sa Mathematics since that's my ultimate waterloo. Ugh.

Why do I want a Mathematician for a husband?

HAHAHA.

I'm completely stupid when it comes to Mathematics. Damn x and freaking ys and many more. I even got a grade of 75 sa Math in my NCAE results and they put it there that I should choose STEM. First choice. Eh? They must've done something wrong. Tss.

Here's exactly why... I don't want my child to suffer the way I did whenever I come across Math. I don't want him or her to stare at an empty paper thinking how it sucks to be such a moron in Math while most of the people in the class are scribbling down at their spare sheets and trying to find what the hell is x. I don't want him or her to go through the same thing I went through. It sucks to try and solve a Math problem only to realize that none of the stuffs our teacher taught us remained in my head. I even forgot the solution, I couldn't get it right. How hopeless. How do I get by? I patiently write down all the steps in solving those problems and open my notes when it's activity time. Sometimes, our teacher would let us open our notes but there are these times when it's "strictly close notes" time and I'm damned. Thank God for a best friend who's good in Math. It just sucks to be me kasi nahihiya akong magtanong nang magtanong kasi ang hirap na nga tapos iistorbohin ko pa siya. So I'd wait for her to take a look at me. I don't make a sound, I don't complain and I don't really ask unless there's only 5 minutes left before passing the papers. Ayaw kong pagdaanan ng future children ko 'yon 'no! Sus, kung ganun lang naman, magma-madre na lang ako. Hah! Nasa NCAE results ko kaya na pwedeng pwede akong mag-madre.

So silly. How can one girl think of such things even when she's only in Junior High School. It was just so hard that it pushed me to that state. Dati, naaalala ko pa, kapag activity na sa Math tapos hindi ako nakinig kay Sir Allan, kahit crush ko pa si Sir simula grade 7, hindi ko nagawang makinig, hindi ako nagpapasa ng papel. What am I going to pass? A piece of an intermediate paper with no problem-solution written on it but with my complete name? No, mi amigo. That's embarrassing and that's a waste of time. Mamomroblema pa si Sir, he'll doubt his capacity pa when it comes to teaching Math when it's entirely my fault for being such a lazy bum. Sorry, Sir, I did it on purpose. And besides, ang hirap makinig kapag nasa likod ka. Sucks to have a surname that starts with letter 'S', eh tuwing recitation ko lang napapakinabangan ang pagiging huli eh. Tss. Ang daming kakausap sa akin sa likod and I don't want to be rude. No, I absolutely don't. Kapag kinausap ako, kakausapin ko rin because I don't like the feeling of being ignored kaya anong katinuan ang meron ako kung gagawin ko sa iba ang ayaw kong maranasan, aber? Kaya, go chika now, pass an empty paper later. HAHAHA.

I can't remember when exactly did I start asking myself and the people I'm close with about who am I going to end up with at the end of my life of being single. As in araw-araw ever since I started, tuluy-tuloy ang pagtanong ko, most of the time out of nowhere pa, kung sino ang makakatuluyan ko. Sabi ko pa noon ayaw ko ng taga-Romblon kasi baka kilala ko lang pala, eh wala naman akong kilalang matino noon na taga-sa'min lang that I even thought about how I'm about to become an old maid. Geez. That's rule number 1 back when I was 16 but try, try, try to follow the rules, I'll break every one of them with boys like you. Char. HAHAHA. Meghan Trainor lang? HAHA. HINDI AH. EH KANINO PA BA NAMAN AKO MAGKAKAGUSTO EH NASA ROMBLON LANG AKO AT PURO TAGA-DOON LANG NAMAN NAKAKASALAMUHA KO. LECHE THAT RULE NUMBER 1. I threw that to the depths of Tartarus na and asked Tartarus himself to look after that rule since I can't ask the goddess of night, Nyx, to do that since ang mga anak niya ay mas nangangailangan ng pagbantay--unless she agrees with what her children want to do. Shems, ang sasama pala ng mga anak ni Nyx, paano ba naman kasi, si Tartarus ang tatay. My god, gurl! Nag-try ka man lang sana kay Ouranus or kay Chronos or sa ibang Titan man lang muna bago kay Tartarus. O baka naman dahil madilim sa Tartarus, doon lang siya nag-stay at sino nga ba naman ang makakasalamuha niya doon kundi ang embodiment lang naman ng kinalulugaran niya. Pwe. Hindi man lang siya nag-effort lumabas at mag-explore. Helloooooo! And daming matitinong--mas matitino pa kay Tartarus ha, na primordial powerful beings 'no (huwag lang si Chaos, oh please, no, no, no huhuhu). Girl, kulang ka sa adventure. Dora should've existed before Nyx did eh para nasama siya sa kanya kahit papaano. Hays. Talk about timings and other shizzumz.

Oh well. I can't believe that I've been typing these paragraphs for more than 30 minutes now and I started at 3 AM, kasi naman ang thoughts ko na mga ganito, alas tres na rumaragasa sa makulay kong utak. (which colors are painted on my mind kaya?) Amazeballs. I was just reading Blown By The Wind until all of these stuffs demand for a story to be published. Tsk, tsk. I'm getting worse and worse each day. Char.

Pero dati talaga, tinatanong ko araw-araw kung sino ang makakatuluyan ko. Ahehe. Pero ang saya lang imagine-in na isa sa kanila ang makakatuluyan ko. Kahit si Sibal na lang o si Bari, o. HAHA. Ang iba sa kanila like PCY, CP at CH, hiningi ko talaga kay Lord. Hinihingi ko kay Lord kasi malay naman natin 'di ba, hinihintay lang pala talaga ni Lord na hingin ko dahil nakalaan naman talaga sa akin ang isa sa kanila. Hahahaha. And when I started praying for a real guy, a specific real guy, I had this feeling of damnation. HAHAHA. Like, "Ano na Salvador, akala ko ba ayaw mo sa mga ka-corny-han, bakit nangangarap ka na for reeeeal, gurl why?" HAHA. So I promised na I won't ever pray hard for another real guy. Damn, that sucks kapag hindi na-grant. Huhu. Lord, baka naman po. 😂 Baka naman hindi ko na kailangan mag-pray ulit for another man. HAHAHAHAHA. Ano ba 'to.

Dati, may nabasa akong rules sa Lana's List to determine kung reachable ba o unreachable ang guy na gusto mo. Kapag reachable, GO GURL! at kapag hindi, NO GURL!

Ganun lang ka-simple.

Ganun lang DAPAT ka-simple eh, but humans are naturally greedy, ika nga ng nakararami. Kahit unreachable, ita-try talaga ma-reach kahit konti lang eh. Ang iba pa, they'll cause their own destruction para lang ma-reach ang talaga namang unreachable. Luuuuh, kasi naman may reachable naman sa tabi, why bother?

MAS LUUUUUUH, kasi naman hindi naman gusto 'yong reachable eh. Do you think one would bother reaching the sky kung doon naman pala sa meadows ang cloud na inaasam niyang malapitan at mahagkan? Nah. One won't even look at the sky kung nasa meadow lang naman pala. It's not how hard and how simple eh. It's for what and for whom, the reasons why and and the feelings felt eh. Wow, so nice of you to contradict your self, 'no? Hm.

I consider the person I like, unreachable and I consider my feelings for him a threat to my sanity and serenity.

Aaaaaaaaah, everything is freaking my precious miiiiiiiind. Aaaaaaah, I want to be freeeeeee. I want to eat all the Cream-O on the cabinet because I was really starving kanina, I want to express my feelingz freely and love with no inhibitions and fear and restraint, I want to go to the school I want without thinking about how good is it to have someone with you always like a family and how bad is it going to be for her if I'll leave her alone in her place only because I care more about her than I care about myself and I dunno if that's recklessness or selflessness. Huhuhuhu. I've been given the opportunity and I appreciate everything you do more than I say I do but I'm having second thoughts about my dreams. Huhuhuhu. What's stopping you, Anne Nicole?

It's 5 AM and I'm just about to sleep when all of them is about to wake up after more or less 3 hours. I won't be surprised if I'll wake up alone in the room without even the dogs by my side for waking up later than I planned to. Nyenye. Where's my antok? Give it back to me na, I'm ready to drift to sleep na.

I woke up hearing my dad saying

" baket? "

with his sleepy voice that suddenly turned into a high pitch tone voice that keeps asking

" Ha? Di ka makatayo? baket? ano masaket? "

and then I knew who was he talking to, He's talking to kuya saying that he can't stand because of the back pain he's feeling feeling whenever he tries to

" Nak try mo nga umupo "

I can't stand hearing everything, maybe If I went there I would have panicked

" Tuluy tuloy ba ung sakit? "

Everything was registering in my mind

All day wala sa bahay 😂

Waaaaaahhhh finally, nakalanghap ako ng tao. Charot. Hahaha. After grad, ngayon pa lang ako nakaalis ng bahay. Yung bakasyon na gusto ko. Low key pero alam niyo yun, for a day I felt no worries. Ineenjoy ko lang yung company ng bestfriends ko. Walang ibang sagabal. Haha. Lowbatt kasi phone ko. Wala din tuloy selfies. Joke. De, it was a good but tiring day. I went to CDC earlier with my family to have a morning jog. Kaso medyo late na kami. Mga 6:30 na ata kami nakarating. Buti na lang malamig-lamig simoy ng hangin. I was scheduled to see my best friends by 9, kaso 9:30 nasa palengke pa kami ng Angeles. Nairita na 'ko kasi ang aga umalis ng mga yun sa Bulacan, tapos kami late NA NAMAN. Hahaha. So yun, nakapangjogging attire pa kaming nakipagkita sa kanila kasi wala naman kaming dalang extrang damit kasi we thought agad namang uuwi right after ng jog. Kaso nagbreakfast pa kami sa Clark. Haha. Buti na lang mga 30 minutes lang kaming late. We went to Sandbox at sobrang chill lang. Actually last year pa nakasched na magsandbox kami nung birthday ko, kaya lang broke af lahat noon. Broke af pa rin kaming tatlo ngayon, si Rogielle lang may work kasi sa'min. Haha. Ayun, puno ng asaran, tawanan at tawanan lang ulit. 😂 Kaso nakakasad kasi may isang activity kaming 'di natapos. Yung climbing wall 😭 parang ang dali dali lang pag yung iba yung gumagawa pero nung kami na, ngangey. Hahaha. Wala e, wala na kaming makapitan kaya we chose to let go. CHOS. De bes, ang dulas na nga nung mga bato, ang sakit pa sa arms. As in nung pagbaba namin nanginginig mga braso namin. Huhuhu shaket beshy. Pero pinaka masarap yung GIANT SWING!!! Solid yon. Ang sarap lang sa feeling, parang lahat ng sakit sa puso ko e nailabas ko. Hahaha. De basta, iba sa feeling. Ang sarap angkinin nung hangin. At ang bait nila kuya na nag-aassist kasi di nila kami pinigil at hinayaan lang nila na matigil yung pagswing. Haha. Pero pinaka the best is nung nasa KFC Guagua lang kami. Kwentuhan ng kung anu-ano. Like we used to when we were younger. Kaso medyo bitin kahit 2 hours kaming nakatambay don. Haha. Wala lang kasi, every time na magkikita kita kami parang kahapon lang kami di nagkita? Basta ganun. Sayang wala si Ela. Di din naman namin siya mavideo call kasi madaling araw na sa kanila nun kanina. Nakakabitin kasi ang dami pang gustung pagkwentuhan, ang dami pang gustong icatch up pero dahil limited lang time kung anu-ano na lang din pinag-usapan namin. Andyan syempre yung acads, work, hs life, at love life. Mga bwisit akala ko di na nila ibbrought up pero ayun, mga nang-asar pa din. Hahaha. Pag sila kausap ko, hindi ako pwedeng maging serious. Hahaha. Wala sa mood namin yung ganun. Pag naging serious na 'ko, ayun na asaran kantyawan na. Pero I appreciate them for not pushing me to tell all if I'm not comfortable talking about it. Basta alam nila nangyari, hindi na kailangang i-elaborate pa. Tapos usapan. Pero nakakapagod bes. Mula Clark, Porac, Sta. Rita, Guagua, Bacolor then San Fernando. Haba ng byahe!!! Kasi naman si Niko di dinala sasakyan nila. Eto naman kasing si Rogielle sobrang short notice. Tuloy. Hahaha. Matagal tagal na naman nyan bago kami magkita kita. Pero I made a promise na after talaga ng boards, ako mag-oorganize ng lakwatsa ng batch namin. Hahaha. Kinukulit na kami na mag-ayos e. Sorry guys, bawi ako pangako. 😂 Sana lagi lang ganito. Sana tuluy-tuloy na. I love you self! 😘

DDuterte to tackle drug problem with successor

MANILA – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Monday said he would hold a meeting with his successor to discuss the drug menace that continues to “haunt” the country.

In his taped Talk to the Peopled aired Tuesday morning on state-run PTV-4, Duterte said he would ask the country’s next president to continue his anti-narcotics drive because many drug offenders are still on the loose.

“I hope to… ‘Pag makausap ko pagkatapos ng elections and a new presidential shall have been elected, I said there is a time for us, me to bring, invite him dito. Duterte’s statement came after Interior Secretary Eduardo Año reported that a total of 1,775 kilos of shabu and 421.5 kilos of marijuana worth PHP13.2 billion have been seized during the anti-drug operations from March 6 to 19.

Around 2,471 individuals have been arrested, while two others have died during the operations, Año said in a meeting with Duterte and select Cabinet officials at Malacañan Palace in Manila on Monday night.

“Ito po ang pinakamalaking nahuli sa entire Philippine history in one time na pagkakasakote sa illegal drugs. At patuloy pa rin po nating paiigtingin ang ating kampanya laban sa illegal drugs Mr. President sapagkat gusto po nating tuluy-tuloy ito upang siguruhing ligtas ang ating mga kababayan sa masamang dulot ng illegal na droga (The seized illegal drugs are the biggest haul in the entire Philippine history in one time. Duterte agreed with Año, and ordered the continuation of the war against the proliferation of illegal drugs.

“Let us go and look for them. Hunt them down,” Duterte said. “This [drug problem] will continue. Drugs will haunt us today, tomorrow and malayo pa ang (and it is far [from over]).”

Duterte reiterated that the drug problem remains a threat to public safety, stressing that it will continue to create “multiple problems” since illegal drugs make users “insane.”

“Ang problema nito, it induces insanity sa mga tao. Ito, papatay na naman. Kapag walang pera, mag-hold up, lahat na. Multiple ang problema dito (The problem here is it induces insanity among users. They might kill and hold up people. There will be multiple problems here),” he said.

On February 28, Duterte expressed hope that his successor would continue his anti-narcotics campaign, saying he was “very worried of the resurgence of the drug problem.” (PNA)

#PHnews: DOH reports 85% recovery rate from Covid-19

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday announced that the number of patients infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) continues to improve, reporting an average of around 2,200 cases every day nationwide.

In an interview, DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire reported on the updates of Covid-19 cases in the country, where she said that the recovery rate from the infectious disease has already reached 85 percent.

“Nakikita po natin na bumaba naman po ang mga numbers natin generally sa buong bansa. Makikita po natin that we are averaging about 2,000 to 2,200 new cases per day compared po in the previous weeks and months na umabot po tayo ng 3,000 hanggang 3,500 [We have seen a decreasing number across the country. We are averaging about 2,000 to 2,200 new cases per day compared in the previous weeks and months where it is between 3,000 to 3,500],” she said during the Network Briefing News with host Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar.

The latest DOH data as of Oct. 13 showed 1,990 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number to 344,713. There are 40 new deaths due to the coronavirus disease, bringing the death toll to 6,372, while the recoveries are up by 327, raising total recoveries to 293,383.

“We are now at around 85 percent recovery rate and we have 1.8 percent case fatality rate,” she added.

However, Vergeire warned the public of the possible rise of infection should they return to complacency following safety protocols.

“Ang tanging bilin nga po namin sa ating mga kababayan, we cannot be complacent at this point. Kailangan po vigilant pa rin tayo para tuluy-tuloy po nating mapababa ang kaso dito sa ating bansa [We are reminding the public that we cannot be complacent at this point. We need to remain vigilant so we can further decrease the number of cases in our country],” she said noting that cases of clustered infections are still present.

She also explained the key indicator on the bid to flatten the curve, which is ensuring that the frequency of the infection slows down, while continuously ramping up the healthcare capacity of the country.

“Pag pinag-usapan po ang flattening of the curve, kailangan hindi lang yung numero ang tinitingnan natin. Ang objective po ng flattening of the curve is making the increase of number na longer period of time [When we talk about flattening of the curve, we just don't look at the numbers. The objective of flattening the curve is to make the increase in the number of cases happen over a longer period of time],” she said.

“Ibig sabihin, pinapahaba po natin yung panahon na sakaling tataas ang mga kaso para yung ating healthcare system ay makaagapay [This means we need the number of Covid-19 cases to stretch out over a longer period of time, just in case, so that our healthcare system can keep up],” she added.

At present the country’s healthcare utilization rate for critical cases is at 47 percent.

Vergeire said there are still other areas whose capacities to accommodate positive patients are a challenge. She said the DOH is focusing on pouring assistance to them as well.

“We can say that we are having good indication na nasa tamang direksyon po ang ating response at maganda po ang ating nakikitang pagbaba dito sa Pilipinas [We can say that we are having good indication that we are in the right direction in our response],” she said. (PR)
