Mod: has anyone been experiencing some Tumblr shenanigans?
(Detail of shenanigans below)
It just logged me out of the browser, and the password was incorrect. I tried to change the password in the app and it said my last used password was incorrect. Luckily I could do a password reset and the password has now been changed and I'm back in. If I look at active sessions, the only session is my own, so it doesn't look like anyone logged in and changed it, it's almost like Tumblr just changed it on its own?!
Anyway if they ever succeed in their shenanigans I will come back on a backup or new account, so if this blog suddenly stops posting keep checking the tags 💞
Edit: just logged back into the original truebjdconfessionz (now @bjd-confessions ) and it's the same deal, it said the password was wrong and I had to reset, I hope anyone else experiencing this can get back in! 💜
Tinfoil theory: Tumblr scraped the two big accounts for their data to sell to AI, and in the process, changed the passwords, since my backup with only like 10 posts @true-bjd-confessions was unchanged, only @bjd-confessions with nearly 7k posts, and this blog @the-bjd-community-confess with nearly 25k had the passwords changed. 🤔

Mod, kindly delete this if you do not want to answer. I’m just curious what’s behind the curtain of my lunch break entertainment.
Why do you run this blog? I know I would enjoy it, but it’s definitely a lot to keep up with and not for everyone! if you don’t mind me asking, what made you step up to make this blog when the original went silent? And finally, pineapple on pizza or nah?
~Anonymous
Mod: I actually just love reading all your dolly thoughts, obviously there are some toxic and serious ones in there which can be difficult, but generally I enjoy reading everyone's dolly opinions. I ran (was deleted by tumblr in p0rngate due to doll photos(!) since basically anything with flesh-tones was getting flagged by their bot, and remade here, they restored it a whole year later) truebjdconfessionz (now @bjd-confessions) since the middle of 2017, I found the original truebjdconfessions in 2015? And just was addicted, when they stopped posting I'd keep checking and after a few months, eventually decided to make my own. I just posted about it in the comments of the latest post on tbc at the time, and since everyone else was still checking the blog, it gained followers quickly.
I've never knowingly eaten pineapple on pizza :p

Please be aware that f!tzwig aka gaydudewithd0lls is back and is under a new username, dynamited0llz. Dynamited0llz is not a scammer but he is a racist, a transphobe and a disgusting human being that kept attacking transexuals (saying they do not exist), mexicans, arabs, jewish people and even femme presenting gay men in his stories. mod, do you still have the older blog somewhere? This psycho shouldnt be welcome back and I want others to be wary of him and the vile things he posted.

did ownership of this blog change hands, mod?
~Anonymous
Mod: It's still the same Mod since mid-2017. The previous blog was @bjd-confessions, formerly known as /truebjdconfessionz for anyone newer, this blog goes back to December 2018 iirc when we got accidentally deleted by Tumblr in the purge.
I changed the logo and links slightly this month after we got to 20k posts, and just because I wanted to make it a little cuter.

Harvcasting dolls are honestly so gorgeous. He is probably one of the only artists in this hobby that offer such a huge variety in different looking sculpts and skin colors. He is a one man business too! If he can pull off offering that many skin colors I am sure bigger companies could squeeze in a tan and dark skin doll in their casting schedule from time to time...

As a faceup artist nail art brushes saved my goddamn life. I thought "these can't possibly be good, you can get them for $1 on aliexpress" but I can paint more delicate lines with my nail art brush than I EVER could with a fine art brush. I feel like my faceups have improved so much ever since I started using them.

a lot of you need to understand that shutting up is the best thing you can do for Ukraine. that may seem impossible in this unprecedented era of loud keyboard activism and social guilting, but the spread of misinformation and the deliberate spread of disinformation does more harm to Ukrainian efforts than good. even sharing a video of bombings on your instagram story increases the chances of the wrong people getting information they need to kill more and more Ukrainians. for the love of god don’t share plans or locations or movements or anything that can give Russia the upper hands. Donating and volunteering are all we can do, and you need to get used to that because war is not a very information rich situation. any information that gets into Russian hands is more lives lost so, for the love of god, sit down and shut up.

Trying to switch to f&f for selling goods is a good way to get your PayPal restricted. If they realize you are selling goods without paying PayPal seller fees, that makes PayPal angry, and you won’t like PayPal when they’re angry.

If you’re a sex repulsed asexual thats fine, but there’s a difference between sex repulsed and sex negative. Sex negativity only hurts people in the end. Someone posting their doll in a sexual position is not the same as “playing with your genitals in public”. Of course that’s not ok. As long as the doll stuff is tagged properly so people can avoid, grow up and move on.

Tired of people playing victim because they were asked to look inwardly to examine their possible biases. Yes this is about the posts going “sO I’m rAciSt BecAusE I DoNT wAnT BlACk dOlLs?!” And no I’m not saying you have to get a poc doll or whatever, it’s not about the dolls. It’s about asking why so many of you seem to be upset over a doll with features you find “ugly”, when you could just ignore it like one does with any other sculpt they don’t like.

Doll Morality? Someone posted in the N@zi Doll Discourse post a while back,  "Having a doll represent anything feels inherently glorifying, for lack of better word. What I mean is, you wouldn’t have a doll of something you hate. You make dolls to represent beloved characters, maybe real individuals you admire- wether it be partners, actors, pets even."
And oh boy. Oh boyyyy I have realized in this moment why so many people get so feral over fictional bullshit, and also that apparently my doll-having experience is not like the experience others are having. And no shade to this person or anyone else who feels this way, but man... I do not at all make dolls based on things I love and support, not like, intentionally or exclusively. I have dolls for reasons like "that looks cool" and "that's cute" -- but I also have some character dolls in a fictional setting, and they include both a protagonist, an antagonist, and a morally-grey third-party. And I don't... give it that much thought, you know?
I don't condone bad actions, literally just "character x did thing for reason. plot moves forward" is about the sum of that thought process because I don't... consider that actions of some fictional people to be reflective of my stand on basically anything? That's like saying Mads Mikkelsen is pro-cannibalism because he played Hannibal Lecter, to me. Like it's just. It's just a role on a TV show; it's just a doll on my shelf.
It's just some characters in a fictional story that won't even see the light of day, and I'm just an anon sitting on my bed star-struck by how different our experiences can be across the hobby- in a nonjudgmental, positive manner, mind. Literally I made these (negative) characters into dolls because I saw some sculpts that worked over the years and said to myself "oh, well damn, that works. that'd be a cool doll."
I don't really tie morality into it at all, for me. Fiction is fiction at the end of the day, isn't it? But it was very interesting to see someone else's take on the matter, and it provided some insight to me, at least, on why people have become so incredibly morally aggrandized over the behavior of fictional characters and "proper" representation and everything else (saying this as a person from a a societally disadvantaged background for the record; I'm not saying I don't get why people want to see more representation, I'm saying I'm baffled by the rise in the belief that only "positive, morally wholesome" representation is acceptable when I, personally, would prefer to see a diversity in narratives about people from my background, good and bad, because I feel only allowing one perspective is just as hollow as only showing negative portrayals; but I digress.)
It makes sense to me that people would be upset by things that are morally dubious or objectively bad if they feel that those producing such content are inherently supportive of it. On the other hand, the knowledge that some people feel this way actively fills me with dread and has further filled me with resolve to never publish anything, anywhere, because even my relatively milquetoast neo-noir bullshit probably won't past muster under that kind of scrutiny. As a final note, I will say that despite all this, I still would find it fucky to make a N@zi doll, even if there is at least one out there released by a prominent Dollmaker. I'd be open to hearing why someone else got one (if you like the sculpt and burned the outfit, sure, why not) but me personally, no thank you.

“Why is the bjd community SO TOXIC?” It’s because the hobby is predominantly women or otherwise AFAB folks. Many other hobbies with the same demographics are just as toxic. And yes, I can say this, because I’m AFAB.

Tumblr media
D0llshe unironically needs to be shut down, when half your website is 3d grey mockups of doll faces without an actual sculpt to be seen, when one listing is straight up just a photo of Natalie Portman without even a 3d mockup, shut the whole thing down. Where even are the dolls? Has anyone ever seen a D0llshe manga doll irl? Do any of these exist? Korean authorities give a shit or nah? How is this a product, mr D0llshe? Explain how this works for me

What onceupon did was horribly rude unprofessional and scammy. Why would you ship the doll then decide nope and intercept the package not even refunding the buyer. Shes definitely in a mental health situation and now hundreds of comments on her posts harassing her and yes its harassment and group mentality of attacking. I would be pissed had this happened to me and am not defending at all but maybe dont harass someone on the brink of a mental crisis
