Missy Elliott Releases "Take Away" on airways 10/18/01 following the death of Aaliyah (8/25/01). The CD single is released November 5th 2001.
The music video was directed by Dave Meyers (who also directed Aaliyah's 'More Than A Woman' music video along with a entire catalog list of other artist he directed for: including, but not limited to, Ginuwine, Lil Wayne, Jay Z, DMX, Creed, P!nk, 69 Boys, Eve and more).
During Ginuwine's versus, he (along with Elliott) glance at the sight of waterfalls where pictures of Aaliyah are reflecting from the water.
The video starts with "I dedicate this to Aaliyah who brought life to my music..." The video then ends with, "There will never be a day that you will be forgotten, my guardian angel, Aaliyah. I love you."

Well, I was going to post this "excited" to share that there was a documentary in the works on Mac Miller's life but I just looked it up and the "would be" director was recently told that the idea must be put on hold. It sounds like some people/fans were thinking that maybe this director was trying to exploit the project to his benefit. I don't know. Anyways, I can't believe it's been 8 months since I created my first song. I was in Mexico visiting family and was laying down when I found out that Mac had just died. I know we all get attached to artists, their lives and music but I hadn't realized how much of a fan I was until I looked at how sad I was. Right then and there my mood took over and I knew I wanted to make a tribute song. I started writing a couple verses over one of Mac's songs and then I asked my friend to throw together a beat so we could put it together. I came back home a couple days later and within 2 weeks I had my first little project out. It's nothing crazy but to me, this #song is about inspiration. Because that is what MacMiller is.
