Overwatch OC thinks…

Im itching to draw or write up this Overwatch shit ive been thinking about for the past couple of weeks but…

Stuff keeps getting in the way, or I get distracted, or Im working, or I get dishearted because its not a top tier ship… Though I do think its gaining popularity.

Whole damn thing started as a What If character design for a Meihem kid named Yili (pronounced Yee-lee, Chinese for preserverence). I first wanted to call her (Agent Name) Freezerburn, but then she evolved her own Identity and it became ‘RipTide’, because shes a champion surfer under the WSL (World Surfer League) representing Australia.

So in game, she would ride a surf board thats powered by a bastersized gasoline engine she modified to eject the same cryo freeze ice Mei uses, and surfs on it ala like Mei does in her one intro.

She also uses Ice gernades and some kind of handheld flamethrower. Maybe. Still tweeking it.

Aussie accent, because we all know Jamie talks a mile a minute and never shuts up. Gets super thick when shes angry.

Fluent in Chinese, also spoken heavily when angry.

Toll bean.

Begrudges she doesnt have “Ace tits” like her mom. Hates being all “gangly limbs”. Blond hair thats slowly turning brown as she ages. ( Fuck you, genetics!) Wears it in a ponytail so she can wear a cool hair pin like her moms. [“And Dad said oi can use et loike a stabbing knife!]

Has her Dads eyes, but with a touch more umber when shes angry.

Actually really optimistic and overly dramatic. Of course.

At fourteen she joins a team for her first mission. It doesnt end well. The mission goes south. Morrison’s adopted son, leading the mission (his first lead) struggles to deal and blames himself for the failure, and resulting casualties.

Up until this point, the two of them have had a love hate relationship. Yili hates his uptight ass because hes 'no fun’ and hes just 'get your shit together’, but at the end of the day they are "family”.

This shifts because of the mission in which Yili [trying to prove herself/being an idiot/trying to complete the mission], makes a foolish move and fucks up, getting caught between death and a door and gets her right arm chopped off. He blamed himself for her injury. She doesnt. But ya know…

(She beggs Angela not to tell her parents as the team flys back to base, that she will do it herself when they get to the hosptial. Ya know, for the angst of her being that much more 'Daddy’s little girl’ which she says herself.)

A week later, Jamie litterally gives her his right arm. (Having to readjust certain specs.) He makes another for himself. “Needed a new 'en anyway”.

Then some freaky shit happens and most of the old OW crew goes missing and this is when all the kids rally to figure out wtf is going on, and Yili starts desiging her surfboard, thus RipTide is born.

Others in this brainstorming shit ive considered:

Morrisons adopted son, unnamed, becomes “Artillery”

Hana and Lucio have two kids, a boy and girl.

McCree and Hanzo also have an adopted son, while Angela and Genji have their own (IFF, thats still possible for Genji)

Rein and Ana dont have kids ( everyone else is their child LOL) but are together (IFF, Ana isnt married anymore Fareehas father)

Brigettes on the team. Probably also a few other Trojborun kids as well. Hes got enough.

And probably a handful of details and some other slew of shit that I’m not remembering right now but… We’ll see what comes of it.
