Takuma's stomach seemed to rumble at the statement, his expression turning sour as he continued to try and make sense of the scroll in his hands, so far not having much luck. Be it that his hunger was getting the better of him, or him simply having an innate problem with focusing on text he wasn't exactly sure, but what he did know was that the words on the scroll were beginning to get on his last nerve, especially with how violently his stomach had been growling at him, almost like some kind of crazed beast.

❝I miss food in general; if it weren't for this damned thunderstorm trapping us here in this cave, I'd say forget the entire mission so we could head home and get something from Ichiraku's Ramen.❞

His stomach gave a low rumble in displeasure at this, almost as if agreeing that this storm was the last thing the pair needed on their little mission. If Takuma had to eat another military ration, he thinks he might actually lose his mind here. Assuming, of course, that he hasn't already done so.

Takuma had never really had the best sense of direction, always relying on one of his teammates or his older brother specifically to keep track of where it was they were heading or where they currently are. What he hadn’t realized was that the other was expecting the same from him, which made sense considering he were older and should probably know where the hell they were right now thanks to him being the one that lead them out here in the first place.

When he saw that it was Haruhi looking up at him with a brow raised, he began to nervously laugh while turning his head slightly away from her to avoid eye contact. There was no way he was going to be able to face her like this.

     Pale green eyes were filled to the brim in confusion, though he wasn’t sure whether he should question what was happening or not. Hell, Takuma just wanted to go out for a nice, simple walk to alleviate his boredom and now he was being told by a complete stranger that he was being followed? Man, what a day.

                                  ❝H-Hey, I wasn’t sure when you’d show up! Were you thinking about ditching me after all the effort I went through to plan this?❞

     Takuma wasn’t sure what to do after this, though he seemed to think of something on the spot as he quickly wrapped the other in a large bear hug as he tried to play the part. After parting, he gave the Uchiha a nice pat on the back with one arm while the other was used to fix his now crooked glasses.

    Okay…maybe that was the wrong question to ask.

    “Uh…s-sorry sir,” the young healer stutters in reply. In all honesty, a calming something seems like it would be a good idea right about now, at any rate. He gets most shinobi are miffed at best and pissed at worst when they’re cooped up in a hospital room, but uh…there’s not much Reiji can do about that! He thought offering a drink or a snack to help take his mind off things would help said patient in question.

    …apparently not.

    “…do you, uh…do you want anything…else?” Besides having me thrown out of your room?

     Takuma angrily paced around his room with his hands running through his hair with the occasional fierce tug, his glasses sliding down the bridge of his nose as they threatened to fall to the floor. Calming tea was, in his opinion, the last thing that he’d need in a time like this; just moments prior he was in the middle of a bloody battle with weapons flying about and jutsu being thrown at each other without a care in the world for the surrounding environment. He remembers seeing some man who thought he was so high and mighty as he threatened, no, promised to bring those who opposed them to their knees.

     How did he get here?

                                  ❝And who the hell are you?! Am I in Konoha?! What the fuck is happening?!❞

     He grabbed at his head and dropped on his cot, slinging his glasses to the side for the time being. Something isn’t right. Something doesn’t feel right. He remembers being in this hospital before back when he was a genin and nothing in the world mattered. Sure, three years is a long time but he knew how to take care of himself. 

                                  ❝Something isn’t right here... What year is it?! Is Madara still out there?!❞ Takuma searched the room for the other’s form, his vision still absolutely dreadful without his glasses on. ❝They wouldn’t have brought me all the way back here...❞

     It wasn’t very often that Takuma managed to get himself down in the dumps, but something in his head was telling him that something was wrong with him. Perhaps it was just an off day and everything would be fine after a good night’s sleep, but something kept nagging him and telling him that he should confide in someone. It wasn’t that Takuma was actively seeking Naruto out to complain about his problems, it just seemed that Naruto had the same idea to fill himself with ramen to the point of bursting.

                                  ❝I dunno, something doesn’t feel right; I feel like I’m letting everyone down by not accomplishing something already, not to mention that my brother has such bright dreams for the future while mine are kinda iffy, y’know?❞

     Takuma moves his chopsticks to swirl the broth and noodles around in his bowl, his chin resting against his open palm as he stares at his distorted reflection. Even though the broth was swirling around he could still make out the small frown he had adorned, which didn’t help him feel any better. He grabbed a piece of fishcake from the bowl as if that was his original intentions, mindlessly putting it in his mouth without another word.
