ALICIA KEYS MAKES HER TRIUMPHANT RETURN AS 15-TIME GRAMMY AWARD WINNER RECLAIMS A RED CHAIR ON SEASON 14 OF ‘THE VOICE’
Tumblr media
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – Oct. 22, 2017 – Fifteen-time Grammy Award winner and musical superstar Alicia Keys will return to the 14th season of NBC’s four-time Emmy Award winning musical competition series “The Voice.”
Keys will be joined by Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson, who will be making her coaching debut on “The Voice.” This will mark Keys’ third time as a coach and she triumphantly returns as a champion. Her artist Chris Blue was named “The Voice” when she last coached in season 12.
“We are thrilled to welcome back Alicia’s positive energy, competitive spirit and sheer talent. She brings unparalleled expertise and has proven she knows how to help artists win,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. “The chemistry between Alicia, Kelly, Adam and Blake will make for a wildly unpredictable and compelling season 14!"

In addition to capturing 15 Grammys for her musical talents, Keys is also an actress, New York Times best-selling author, entrepreneur and activist and powerful force in the global fight against HIV and AIDS.
Since the 2001 release of her debut album, “Songs in A Minor,” Keys has built an unparalleled repertoire of hits and accomplishments with more than 35 million albums and 30 million singles sold worldwide. She won five Grammys in 2001 for “Songs in A Minor,” and her second studio album, “The Diary of Alicia Keys,” garnered her four Grammys in 2004. Later that year, she released her first live album, “Unplugged,” which debuted at No. 1.

Last year Keys released her powerful and critically acclaimed sixth studio album, “Here,” on RCA Records, which was a chart-topper including No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. On “Here,” Keys offers an honest glimpse into what matters most to her and the artist shines a light on the sonic soulfulness and stories from New York, the city that raised her. As an accompanying visual story to “Here,” Keys also released a short-film titled “The Gospel,” inspired by the genesis of her songs.
So far this fall, “The Voice” is averaging a 3.3 rating with its Monday and Tuesday telecasts in the key adult 18-49 demographic and 13.2 million viewers overall, according to “live plus seven day” ratings from Nielsen Media Research, making it the #1 alternative series of the season in both measures. For the most recently completed week, the two editions of “The Voice” tied as the #3 entertainment show of the week in adults 18-49 “live plus same day” ratings, behind only “This Is Us” and “The Big Bang Theory.”
"The Voice" is a presentation of MGM Television, Talpa Media USA Inc. and Warner Horizon Unscripted & Alternative Television. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Lee Metzger, Chad Hines, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson and Stijn Bakkers.

AWARD-WINNING VOCAL SENSATION JENNIFER HUDSON ON BOARD AS COACH FOR FALL 2017 OF ‘THE VOICE’
Tumblr media
THE VOICE -- Season:13 -- Pictured: Jennifer Hudson -- (Photo by J. Kempin/Getty Images)
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Oscar, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, BAFTA and Grammy Award winner Jennifer Hudson will join Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as a coach on season 13 of NBC’s three-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series “The Voice.”
The 13th season will begin this fall.
“Jennifer is an extraordinary vocal talent and one of the premier voices of our time. She embodies the experience, expertise, positivity and sheer talent that “The Voice” stands for,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. “Her exceptional skills as a singer and actress have extended to film, television and Broadway, which makes her an incredible addition and a natural fit for our show.”
Hudson recently released her new single, “Remember Me,” which she co-wrote with Jamie Hartman.
Hudson is a passionate fan of “The Voice” having served as a coach on the U.K. version earlier this year and winning her first season on the series.
Last December Hudson starred as Motormouth Maybelle on NBC’s “Hairspray Live!,” where she gave a powerful rendition of “I Know Where I’ve Been,” for which she received rave reviews.
In May 2016 Hudson completed her triumphant run in the acclaimed revival of “The Color Purple,” performing the role of Shug Avery in her Broadway debut.
She won an Oscar, Golden Globe, SAG and BAFTA Award, among other honors, in 2007 for her iconic performance as Effie White in the hit film “Dreamgirls.” Her sensational rendition of the song “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” was greeted with instant acclaim by film critics and moviegoers alike and made Hudson the immediate frontrunner for Best Supporting Actress.
Following “Dreamgirls,” Hudson has co-starred in such films as “Sex and the City,” “The Secret Life of Bees” and Spike Lee’s “Chi-Raq.” Her TV credits include NBC’s “Smash,” Fox’s “Empire” and HBO’s “Confirmation.”
Hudson’s incredible vocal talents were first recognized with her appearance on the third season of “American Idol” in 2004, where she impressed both the show’s judges and a national TV audience. Her first album, “Jennifer Hudson,” debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 Chart and sold more than 500,000 copies in the U.S. through its first six weeks of release before being certified gold. The album was nominated for four Grammys and won for Best R&B Album.

Maroon 5’s released their sixth studio album, “Red Pill Blues,” in late 2017 via 222/Interscope. The debut single off the album, “What Lovers Do” (feat. SZA), introduced the band’s latest body of work with a proverbial bang, accumulating more than 485 million Spotify streams and 208 million YouTube/VEVO views. BLAKE SHELTON SET TO PERFORM HIT SINGLE ‘I’LL NAME THE DOGS’ ON THE TUESDAY, NOV. 28 LIVE TELECAST OF ‘THE VOICE’
Tumblr media
THE VOICE -- "Live Top 12" Episode 1317A -- Pictured: Blake Shelton -- (Photo by: Trae Patton/NBC)
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Country music superstar and five-time winning coach Blake Shelton is set to perform his hit single “I’ll Name the Dogs” on the Tuesday, Nov. 28 (8-9 p.m.) live telecast of NBC’s four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series “The Voice.”
Shelton’s single debuted Sept. 8 and quickly rose to the top of the charts, reaching the Top 20 just two weeks after its premiere. It was the #1 trending video on YouTube from the day of release throughout its first weekend, resulting in Shelton’s biggest video launch ever.
“I’ll Name the Dogs” is the lead single off his newest album “Texoma Shore,” a very personal reflection of his love for Oklahoma and country music. “Texoma Shore” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Album Chart netting Shelton six consecutive #1 albums. Shelton is wrapping 2017 with numerous awards including Top Country Artist at the Billboard Music Awards in May. Shelton also became the first country artist ever to win the all-genre Favorite Album category at the People’s Choice Awards, along with the title for Favorite Male Country Artist.
“Texoma Shore” brings the five-time consecutive CMA Male Vocalist of the Year full circle as it chronicles the present and finds Shelton reaching back as well. Shelton recorded the project in his home studio on the shores of Lake Texoma, which lies on the Texas-Oklahoma border and is synonymous with much of his Oklahoma boyhood.
Also on the Nov. 28 live telecast of “The Voice,” nine artists will be revealed as safe by America's votes. The bottom two artists will then compete for the Instant Save and one will be eliminated.
“The Voice” is once again reigning this fall as the #1 alternative series in 18-49 and total viewers, averaging a 3.0 rating with its Monday and Tuesday telecasts in the 18-49 demographic and 12.6 million viewers, according to “live plus seven day” ratings from Nielsen Media Research. So far this season, Monday and Tuesday “Voice” original has finished among that week’s top 10 entertainment programs on the broadcast networks in 18-49.
“The Voice” is a presentation of MGM Television, Talpa Media USA Inc. and Warner Horizon Unscripted & Alternative Television. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Chad Hines, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson and Stijn Bakkers.

NBC’s The Voice: Season 14 Premiere
Tumblr media
THE VOICE -- Season: 14 --  Pictured: (l-r) Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys -- (Photo by: Art Streiber/NBC)
The four-time Emmy Award-winning “The Voice” returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show’s new season on February 27.
Superstar singer/songwriter Kelly Clarkson makes her debut as a coach this season with season 12 winning coach and musical icon Alicia Keys taking a red chair alongside the show’s returning coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, and host Carson Daly.
The show’s innovative format features five stages of competition: the first begins with the Blind Auditions, then the Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and, finally, the Live Performance Shows.
During the Blind Auditions, the decisions from the musician coaches are based solely on voice and not on looks. The coaches hear the artists perform, but they don’t get to see them — thanks to rotating chairs. If a coach is impressed by the artist’s voice, he/she pushes a button to select the artist for his/her team. At this point, the coach’s chair will swivel so that he/she can face the artist he/she has selected. If more than one coach pushes his/her button, the power then shifts to the artists to choose which coach they want to work with. If no coach pushes his/her button, the artist is eliminated from the competition.
Tumblr media

Once the teams are set, the battle is on. The coaches dedicate themselves to developing their team of artists, giving them advice and sharing the secrets of their success, along with help from their celebrity advisers. During the Battle Rounds, the coaches will pit two of their own team members against each other to sing the same song together in front of a studio audience. After the vocal battle, the coach must choose which of his/her singers will advance to the next round of competition, while the losing artist is available to be stolen by another coach. Each coach has two steals available during the Battle Rounds.
At the end of the Battle Rounds, only the strongest members of each coach’s roster remain and proceed to the Knockout Rounds. Here, the artists will be paired against a teammate once more, but this time they will select their own songs to perform individually while their direct competitor watches and waits. They are vying for their coach’s confidence and decision to take them to the final and crucial round before the live shows, the Playoffs.
One superstar universal adviser will be on hand to work with all of the coaches and their teams as they prepare the artists for this challenge. But the coaches alone will choose the winner and the artist not selected will be available to be stolen by another coach.
Each coach has one steal available during the Knockout Rounds.
In the Playoff Rounds, the top 20 artists will compete to secure a spot in the Live Shows. Artists will perform and the coaches will then select three of their five artists to complete their roster and move on to the final phase of the competition — the Live Shows.
Watch the official season premiere trailer:
youtube
In the final live performance phase of the competition, the top 12 artists will compete each week against each other during a live broadcast. The television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. Three artists with the lowest number of votes will be eligible for the “Instant Save.” These artists will each perform a new song that represents why they should earn the save. America will then have the opportunity to save their favorite performer by tweeting out #VoiceSave along with the artist’s name. The singers with the lowest number of votes will be sent home each week. In the end, one will be named “The Voice” and will receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as executive producer along with John de Mol, Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Lee Metzger, Chad Hines, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson and Stijn Bakkers.

SEASON 10 CHAMPION ALISAN PORTER TO PERFORM ON TUESDAY, MAY 2 LIVE TELECAST OF NBC’S ‘THE VOICE’
Tumblr media
THE VOICE -- "Live Finale" Episode: 1018B -- Pictured: Alisan Porter -- (Photo by: Trae Patton/NBC)
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — April 27, 2017 — Season 10 winner Alisan Porter is set to perform her new single “Deep Water” on the Tuesday, May 2 (8-9 p.m.) live telecast of NBC’s three-time Emmy Award-winning series “The Voice.” The stakes are high as the Top 11 artists face elimination with only 10 advancing in the competition.
Porter won America’s heart and top vote as a member of Team Christina during season 10 of “The Voice.” Her victory made history with Christina Aguilera becoming the first female coach to have a champion on the show after 10 seasons.
The Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter appropriately refers to herself as “art-centered,” and she personifies that statement within her music. It’s no surprise Porter could sing with perfect pitch at 9 months old, as her mother often proudly shares. Born to a Broadway singer mom and rocker dad, she went from wowing America on “Star Search” at 5 to starring in the 1991 John Hughes film “Curly Sue.” Obsessed with music, she kept a picture of Janis Joplin above her bed between cranking everything from Joni Mitchell and Carole King, to Nirvana and Pearl Jam throughout her formative years. Post-high school, Porter logged time on Broadway, starring in the first production of “Footloose” and revival of “A Chorus Line” – keeping up a family tradition started by mom. Heading west, she fronted The Canyons and released two solo albums, namely 2009’s “Alisan Porter” and “Who We Are” in 2014. During a 2016 respite from music, a friend secretly submitted her to “The Voice.”

Following her season 10 victory and staunchly committed to a personal vision, she turned down a major label release in order to follow her heart. That energy courses through her 2017 single, “Deep Water.” Co-written with Matt Rollings and Stephony Smith and produced by Greg Wells (Adele, Elton John), the song swims through resounding piano keys and a Southern-style organ. Her robust vocals take hold, building from vulnerable verses into the vital refrain, “I’m going to swim these deep waters alone.” For the first time, listeners get to hear Porter in all her glory this year.
The current cycle of “The Voice” is averaging a combined 3.3 rating in adults 18-49 and 13.7 million viewers overall on Monday and Tuesday nights in “live plus seven day” averages from Nielsen Media Research, keeping NBC the consistent #1 network on both nights. So far this cycle, both editions have ranked in broadcast television’s “live plus same day” weekly top 10 in adults 18-49 and total viewers each week the show has aired.
“The Voice” is a presentation of MGM Television, Talpa Media USA Inc. and Warner Horizon Television. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Jay Bienstock, Lee Metzger and Chad Hines.
