Any songs YOU take inspiration from for TRN or Legal Guardian?

I’ll reblog the other one once I’ve listened to all the songs on there, but here’s some select songs off of my writing playlist.

To start with: The Real Disappearance of Hatsune Miku by cosMo. That is where I got the title from, so therefore functions as a sort of anime intro for the AU. Don’t ask me to detail what exactly about it draws me in, vibes I guess?

Stupid Intruders by the Vincent Black Shadow really captures how much Shigeru doesn’t want to be doing this and kinda hates everyone.

which is then followed by Birdhouse in Your Soul by They Might Be Giants, which reminds me of not only the bird motif, but also how he actually learns to care by the end. After his character arc, this is where he’ll end up.

13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn’t listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?

This was back in the time when I never listened to music while writing. It was waaay too distracting for me then. I would need about 10 years to come up with a decent playlist to this fic 😬sorry to disappoint you right out of the gate, geez

14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?

Honestly, PE is just for having a good time, IMO. It was another way of showing Lily and James fall in love in unlikely circumstances, and how even in those circumstances the core tenants of who they are as people remain intact.

15: What did you learn from writing this fic?

Everything! This fic taught me how to plot, write, and revise (basically execute) a novel-length story. Without it, I don't know if TWR or TRN exists, at least not in the form they are now.

11: What do you like best about this fic?

throwing in this guy because most of these answers were lame. My favorite thing about this fic is the chapter where Lily's cover is blown and how James immediately reacts to it internally and externally. That whole section was hella fun.

Please enjoy my TRN-inspired playlist! I know I said CRY would probably be next, but I had more songs on this one so far and I’m more proud of it. Also, this game is tied for my #1 for sure.

I’m not explaining all the songs one by one because I’m lazy, but there are a ton of oldies/songs my parents listened to that I love that just felt right? Some are included just because they feel like songs I would listen to on a train (or they have ‘train’ in the title...don’t judge me), or they give me desert/western vibes (e.g., Gold Dust Woman), or they remind me of Camille (Gypsy, (Don’t Fear) The Reaper), or of Camille & Jake (Goodbye, I Will Be Back One Day), and some of these may be because I had Francy on the brain but you can pretend they’re about Camille & Jake if you’re not into that.

[TRNS] Meet the Real Nam Joohyuk Behind the Camera, Behind the Scenes Interview!

YG Stage’s shining rising star Nam Joohyuk. He took home the Best Actor Award at the MBC Drama Awards and ended his 2016 brilliantly. However, this is not where his story just ends. In an effort to continuously better himself Nam Joohyuk keeps seeking out new challenges! On behalf of all the fans who wonder what he is thinking, we met with Joohyuk on set and asked him a few questions.

Behind that serene personality lies a competitive spirit, and under the playful smiles lies the sweat of hard work- this is who 2017’s rising star Nam Joohyuk is. Not the character you see in a drama, but the real Nam Joohyuk who stands behind the stage. Let’s meet the real life Nam Joohyuk!

The shoot started in the early morning, so we offered the tired-looking Joohyuk a cup of warm coffee and began our interview.

Q1. At a café, what drink do you enjoy? A. Orange Juice, but sometimes I crave an Iced Americano.

While another model takes their turn to shoot, we found a casual Nam Joohyuk sitting in the waiting room, and asked him another question.

Q2. How do you spend your time while in the waiting room? A. When I’m tired there are times that I sleep, but usually for most of the time I read or listen to music.

After his outfit fitting, Nam Joohyuk peeks out from behind the curtain and quietly held out his phone to us. In the screen we could see a music playlist. We couldn’t let this opportunity to check out his musical preferences go, now could we? Don’t want to disappoint any anticipating fans….

Q3. Please recommend one of the songs on your phone’s playlist. A. I listen to Gallant’s “Bone + Tissue” often.

As the shoot drags on, the effects of the previous days’ drama shooting looks like it’s taking its toll. However when we asked about his drama or about acting, Joohyuk perked up and we couldn’t help but think of him as a lovely actor.

Q4. What do you do when you are tired on set? A. Even if I am tired, I still think my work is fun, so I power through it- mind over matter. When my body is tired, I take vitamins or drink a coffee.

Despite his busy schedules, Nam Joohyuk always shows a smile. The question that suddenly came to mind was where he gets his bright and positive energy from.

Q5. Do you have your own methods to relieve stress? A. Exercise. While I’m exercising, as soon as I start sweating I’m focused on the routine and forget about all my troubles.

As he’s turning 24 this year, Joohyuk must have many dreams and things he wants to do. As an actor he must be receiving lots of love, but is there anything he regrets?

Q6. In 2016 you were 23- Is there anything you regret? A. Not being able to take a trip on my own? If I were just one year younger there are a lot of things I want to try.

Q7. In 2017 you’ll be 24- Is there anything you must accomplish? A. Last year I wasn’t able to, so this year I’ve got to go on a trip.

Still adapting to his new work, Joohyuk says he doesn’t have as much freedom. If there’s a time when he becomes free, he’d like to go on a trip or start a new line of work. As a 24 year old with many dreams, we’re cheering for Nam Joohyuk’s future!

Q8. Is there a travel destination you like? A. Jeju Island. It’s exotic and still holds the beauty of Korea, and as a space with both mountains and the sea it is really refreshing.

As soon as Joohyuk mentioned “Jeju Island” we suddenly remembered YG Stage’s summer of 2015. That August was hot and humid, and Joohyuk went to Jeju and YG Stage’s first showcase magazine came into existence.

Q9. When was your most memorable moment in your life? A. I’m not sure… There are too many. I remember all the instances I’ve overcome while working. My first drama, my first photoshoot…

While we interviewed him about YG Stage’s first showcase magazine [That Summer, Nam Joohyuk], we must have gotten a little greedy, so we asked him what his most memorable moment was. We guess he noticed our intention because Joohyuk laughed a little. Thank you joining us for our first post of 2017!

Q10. Is there an age you want to return to? A. Rather than returning to an age, I wish my thirties would come sooner. I’m curious as to how my acting will be after I’ve gained more experience.

Yesterday, today, tomorrow- Nam Joohyuk dedicates every moment to his acting, and we look forward to seeing the days of a more mature Actor Nam Joohyuk ahead.

Q11. Do you have anything you want to ask yourself in your thirties? A. I wonder what the weight of my life at thirty is like. I want to know how far the troubles I pondered over in my teens and twenties have gotten, or if I have even more troubles instead…

One can never know the future, but there’s still time to prepare for what it will bring. With that in mind, Nam Joohyuk is an actor who prepares for the future by believing in his current self.

When asked what he would be doing if he weren’t an actor, Joohyuk replied that he would still have chased his dream of doing what he wants and become an actor again. We asked him what he would tell himself in his twenties.

Q12. What do you want to say to yourself, while you’re in your twenties? A. Don’t stress out too much thinking about employment. Keep believing in what you think is the right path and find what’s best for you.

Q13. What do you want to say to yourself, if you were in your teens? A. Studying is good, but be sure to play just as much. For your health, please don’t neglect to exercise.

Memories of his school days came to the surface and Joohyuk happily answered our questions. His innocent and cheerful answer were very “Nam Joohyuk-esque.”

Now, it’s time for the last question – one expression or phrase that encompasses who Nam Joohyuk is.

Q14. Is there any word or phrase in particular that you like? A. If both hands are in your pockets, you cannot climb the ladder of success.

The playful and sometimes seemingly manner-less “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bokjoo”’s handsome college student “Joonhyung.” In order to make a character that has made the hearts of many fans laugh and flutter, Nam Joohyuk analyzed the role and practiced the script over and over without rest. Is it not his passion for acting that was the driving force that led the drama to be loved by so many?

School 2015, Cheese in the Trap, Moon Lovers – Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bokjoo- his path has always been connected. As if he wants to test his own limitations, believing in his own abilities, the real Nam Joohyuk diligently looks forwards towards the future and makes us anticipate the Actor Nam Joohyuk. We believe it will be a great pleasure to see what brilliant future he has ahead of him, and look forward to sharing it with all the fans!

Just out of curiosity did you end up making a trn playlist/find songs that inspire?

I have had several songs sent to me either in messages or on the jily discord but I have not accumulated them yet. Nor have I personally found anything since then apart from the recs.

I am still open to suggestions. Fingers crossed I can get TRN6 finished in the next couple of days and then I'll compile all of the songs! I'm assuming people would want me to post one?
