TFN Haul Roundup: Studio Series 77: Deluxe N.E.S.T. Bumblbebee
Rounding out this year's haul, N.E.S.T. Bumblebee is a toy forced by the pandemic into something so conceptually nothing that it's almost admirable. Plus, he was ten quid! Perfect to nort for my own sinister purposes.

TFN Haul Roundup: Gentei! Gentei! (Henkei! Henkei!) Stuntron Wildrider
Now that my Speedia 500 photosets have crossed the finish line, we can start having a look at this year’s TFN Haul, beginning with my most prized possession that I never thought I’d be able to lay my hands on – Henkei Wildrider!
You can probably tell from my blog, or from following me on Twitter, that Transformers, for me, is a toyline first, and the fiction is secondary. I enjoy when a good writer is forced to integrate toyetic characters and elements into their fiction, because creativity blossoms under those constraints.
It should come as no surprise, then, that my headcanon, Transformers: Ascendancy (colloquially known as “the Gherkverse”), is based entirely around toy releases, beginning with Classics and ending with Power of the Primes. In integrating Wildrider, I dreamed up a story of Rodimus going undercover among the Earth-bound Decepticons; in particular, convincing Drag Strip would be the hardest part, as he would be the only one who could spot any holes in Rodimus’ story.
Out of all my early plot bunnies, this one stuck with me the most, despite (or perhaps because of) it being an extended Teen Titans “Red X” riff. Getting such an unobtainable toy in hand gives me such a nostalgic sense of closure. (And since I’d written off ever owning this toy, I essentially recycled the idea into something else.)
And that’s whycome Henkei! Wildrider is so awesome.

TFN Haul Roundup: The Spares!
I am the toy accuracy crank, so I picked up an extra Earthrise Hoist to dip his head in green.
I’m also a “restore to factory settings” crank, so after I repurposed Siege Covert Clone Sideswipe into an OC named Jackknife years ago and partially regretted it, I now have two of the things. He’s giving the impostor his best Buscema punch.
