Drooling over the Ks in the “Durkin Durkin” font, an the W in “Springweave.” A very good effort!
P.S. Durkin Durkin is neither Durkin nor Durkin, discuss amongst yourselves...

Finished dyeing and spinning some yarns! I am absolutely in love with them, they’re so fluffy and squishy its amazing. The plan is to build a triangle frame loom this week, and make some cute bandanas with these, as Christmas gifts for my besties.

Okay, spinning update: I am still at war with my wheel. Something is not working. Until I figure that out I've moved on to a drop spindle, and I love it.
Anyways, this is my first yarn!
It’s some undyed alpaca wool and I got around 350m out of it :)

Finished another scarf! Took me ages due to the thin weft wool, but i really loooove the outcome :D I did miscalculate the length a bit so its not symmetrical, but I’ve made peace with that ^^

Have been spending my time weaving and knitting together some… cuffs? gauntlets? Google translate was really unhelpful on this one.
The weft is some leftover wool from a wall hanging I made ages ago, but the weft wools are my very first dye experiments! At the time I only tested how the colors came out with little scraps, so I didn’t have enough to make pairs :/ Btw, if you know what these are actually called, please tell ^^’

So vacation is over and I’ve started a new scarf! Also I dyed the wool for the weft myself, which was a lot of fun. It doesn’t have a specific gradient, just random uneven color, but I think it turned out really nice!
I’m contemplating including a little pick up stick action, but im not sure yet - what do you think?

Hello! I am finally finished with my wool dying antics (for now).
Here are the results.
So I’ve been planing to make a day blanket for my bed for a while now, a project I’ve wanted to do for a variety of different reasons:
- big rainbow c:
- opportunity to use as much leftover wool as possible
- opportunity to dye more wool
since my rigid heddle can only do 40cm max in width I was going to weave 4 strips and just sew them together. This meant that all my colors needed to be dividable by four. I then went through my stash to get everything usable and discovered that I already had 16 greens.
So I decided to take the easy way out and just dye until i had 16 of every color. (This means that I’ll probably have a whole bunch of leftovers, but ehh.)
So after making a whole bunch of mini-skeins (around 15-20g each), I started with my 14 purples.
they came out really well! Although it’s really hard to mess purple up imo. It just has so much going on.
Next were the 12 reds.
Even though I really like them as well, they are a lot more subtle in their differences, and it shows up even less on camera. One batch was supposed to be a lot more pinkish, but looking at the photos now, i don’t even know which one.
After some sleep(s), I tackled the 12 blues.
while the colors are very nice, that first batch is the only one I‘m genuinely unhappy with - it’s a lot greener that I wanted. So be careful if you ever try turquoises! I dyed the 6 yellows after this, and that was the reason why I didn’t try out a greenish yellow. Maybe another time.
And the the last color: orange, of which I had to do 16, since I didn’t have any in my leftover box.
The oranges came out really well, although I forgot to take a picture of them on the drying rack. :(
And that was that! I let them dry on the rack like that for a few days (or weeks, oops) then washed them, and hung them up again (but properly this time).
And here they are now!! Fully dry and back into little skeins, one of each batch for comparison.
And that’s it!! I am REALLY happy with how these turned out, and can’t wait to weave with them. Sadly, I still need to dye my warp threads, and also complete another bunch of projects which are much higher on the priority list (Christmas gifts I didn’t get done in time. Yes, I know its may. I’m working on it. Dx)
But I will make a post for the blanket, when I start with that :)
I hope you all have a nice day!!

I hope all of you who celebrate had a nice christmas!! I’ve been pretty stressed, since every time I finished a scarf in the last three months, I just cut it of the loom and was done with it - so I had 13 fringes to finish in the last few days, which has been literal hell.
Here are some scarves I didn’t get around to post although I’m rather proud of them (+ my fam):
And with that, I wish you all a happy new Year!!

I finished another scarf during the weekend!! If I continue like this, I might get (one part of the family) done before Christmas!! I also recently discovered that if I turn my loom around, I can very easily transform it into a warping board and I might’ve gone overboard in excitement. Maybe.

Wove some matching scarves for my dad and step-mom!! They’re a perfect reverse of each other as i used the same pattern and the same wool for both projects, which I’ve dyed myself again. Only thing i don’t like are the edges, as they’re quite uneven, but it couldn’t be helped with the pattern :/

So now that school is mostly over, I finally got around to buy the wool from my christmas money, and my friend and I started dyeing yesterday!! I still have to do like 8 batches, and when I‘m done with it I‘m probably gonna make a bigger post, but look at this purple 🥺🥺. Its soooo pretty…
