"...perhaps the largest quality-controlled list of creepypasta on the Web."
Happy Halloween, Internet/rabbits/HYBRIDs/all creatures of the night in-between! At this peak of spooky season, I have once again updated my masterlist of all things creepypasta, Alternate Reality Game, and unfiction, and the goody bag of other web 2.0 curiosities.
Some notable additions to the list this year:
White Enamel: The classic point-and-click exploration of an abandoned asylum in the same vein as 99rooms, still playable.
In the Darkness of the Fields: An r/nosleep classic conveying the horror of rural isolation, major The Silence of the Lambs vibes.
Three Visits to a Hidden Tribe: Another r/nosleep story exploring the horror of consensus reality and the fallibility of memory.
Liminal Land: An analog horror alternate reality game created by two YouTubers well-versed in the field.
SkyCorp Home Video: A channel not so much analog horror as analog humor, irony-poisoned in the best way.
Welcome Home: The multimedia ARG that has recently made waves for its elaborate puzzles and worldbuilding, with genuine love for the colorful "lost media" puppet world it depicts.
Chainmail Chasers: An unfiction webseries and affectionate throwback to the age when creepypasta was a novel catalyst for discovery.
Netizens beware, you're in for a scare 🎃👻🦇

Oh hey, you're the Arkive guy? Sweet, and thank you I've been using that site to go through Original Mythos content for at least a couple months. Thanks for the work you do for a dumb nerd like me 👍
Not a guy, but thanks - it’s been a while since I’ve properly updated the site, in fact I’ve mainly focused on making the Creepypasta page a hub for both classic stories and newer ARGs, but I might rewrite a lot of the content someday. I wrote the series descriptions when I was entering college, and I could cover details much more thoroughly now. But I’m always glad to see people appreciating the Original Mythos, because so much of what people consider fundamental about the Slender Man character started there. I say it’s never too late for creators to seek inspiration there - if random forum users just playing around with some images and minimal backstory can make something new and innovative each time, so can current creators working with the phenomenon it’s become.
(And sorry for taking forever to answer this! We’re living in stranger times than Slenderverse protagonists)

Because potential connections to the Slender Man have emerged worldwide throughout history, this list compiles every dated event relevant to it in chronological order. Main pages for individual series will continue their timelines beyond this page’s range.

Congratulations. You have just discovered the secret wiki page. Only the “List of all Pages” system links to it. As your reward, have some classic creepypasta: the Slender Man Mythos’ spiritual kin.
Nowadays people apply the term “creepypasta” to nearly all amateur horror online, sometimes even to dismiss stories as low-quality. But the term used to have a much narrower definition: creepy “copypasta”, meaning short segments of (usually) anonymously-written text copied-and-pasted on forums and imageboards. Some even narrowed it to stories from 4chan’s /x/ alone, but it’s been used in relation to the Slender Man Mythos since the original thread (in a comment by the SCP-173 creator, no less). So the Slender Man itself is not a creepypasta, but its mythos can be said to include several creepypastas without being limited to them. The Rake, on the other hand, started as a creepypasta –but already has a page here, so it won’t be on the lists below.
The derogatory connotation of “creepypasta” is entirely unfair to stories that fit the term’s original definition, and even some that don’t, because they have a certain authenticity and charm that really can’t be found anywhere else. Like the Slender Man Mythos, they tell either original stories or old urban legends the way friends would around a campfire –just substitute the flashlight on their face for the glow of your computer screen. And enjoy.
New creepypasta masterlist - 👻🎃HAPPY HALLOWEEN!🎃👻

The Slender Man is a monster that varies in all but the most fundamental of its respects between accounts, but many patterns emerge informing its modus operandi and foothold in human history. If you have read enough generalized descriptions of the Slender Man to want sources for each detail, then this page is for you. Safety from behind your computer screen is not.

The term “Original Mythos” specifically refers to the first images and accounts of the Slender Man from the “Create Paranormal Images” thread on Something Awful forums. The thread ran from June 8, 2009 through February 12, 2010, and the first Slender Man post was made by user Victor Surge on June 10, 2009. Through these case files, demented fairy tales, and anecdotes of ordinary forum users, the Slender Man takes on a life of its own in the internet’s collective consciousness and out your window, right now.

We’ve been trying to collect as much literature as possible on this ‘Slender Man’, the ancient god of death and despair. So far all we’ve found are stories throughout the ages of people being put to death while being forced in to the very depths of madness.

The Everyman HYBRID video account concerns the creators and audience of an amateur health and fitness channel as they follow a series of carefully-orchestrated clue trails to account for the strange occurrences surrounding it. These trails all end in forking paths that lead to locations shrouded in urban legend, deeper into the woods we call reality, and down the rabbit hole to beyond its known limits.

Consider these the spiritual successors to the Original Mythos. The more media the monster is in, the more real it becomes…
