i will never. ever. ever be over the fact that they gave dean what he so fundamentally needed — free will, agency, the knowledge that he was free and clear to start his own life and live according to his own plan, knowing that there was no greater being controlling his actions or setting him up, knowing that he wasn’t beholden to anyone but himself — at the cost of everything he actually wanted. i don’t think i will ever be okay with that. dean lost every single person in his life other than his brother right up to the very end. he lost the love of his life. he was never given the opportunity to grieve. he was never given the opportunity to say how he really felt. he couldn’t even ask for what he wanted. so what good is choice if you have nothing left to choose? it all comes down to this: freedom is a length of rope and god wants you to hang yourself with it

how to write a story backwards from an ending you want despite that ending not making sense to the story or season or characters or meaning of the show, an essay by robert singer

singer wanted a tragic/bittersweet bro-centric ending, we know this (‘thelma and louise ending’) and so did dabb based on what he said in the retrospective and other interviews

dean dies, sam lives, classic spn finale. however problem: so many characters could bring dean back to life

we can’t have castiel around to save dean, (as a human or angel) so cas has to die too, and we can’t show him on screen even when he’s an angel because then you would ask a) harold they are homosexuals and b) why did cas not simply prevent this or indeed appear at the end of 15.19

jack isn’t going to have parents if cas and dean are dead and sam is having a tragic dean-centred het lifeTM, so he must be dead or god

jack can be god, but he can’t revive cas or dean, so he has to be ‘hands-off’ despite that not making any sense at all there is a REASON we question the morality of the abrahamic god that allows suffering

jack can’t be seen as a ‘true child’ of the Winchesters if they’re going to use him like this, so we have him more alienated from TFW at various points through 14/15 and dean says he isn’t family anymore and never rectifies this statement

dean has to die so the end can be tragic and brotherly so we cannot address his character development after god’s ending we must merely imply it as a future thing he does in heaven, maybe, when he’s not spending fifty years driving a car and drinking beer. dean also likes food and sam that’s all four of his character traits. it doesn’t even matter how dean dies. rebar. what matters is incest I want full thelma and louise kissing said robert singer to his minions

and finally, absolutely no homosexual love story with the angel as an ending for the cw’s supernatural !!!!!
