year in review | 2023
since I posted my favorite pictures last year and I wanted to do it this year too...
Well, this year is almost over and unfortunately things didn't go as planned. There have been a lot of distractions this year and I haven't really felt motivated to spend much time with The Sims4, despite the 3 expansion packs and many good sets that have come out for Sims4 this year. I'll be honest, the expansion packs aren't bad, but they could have done more with them, the EPs are coming out with less and less content that really enriches the game and that's really very disappointing. Nevertheless, I don't want to miss the new packs or the sets in the game, they still improve my game and I definitely intend to get more involved with them again. So my intention for next year is definitely to invest more time in Sims4 again, even though I can already say quite clearly that some things will change probably.
It's really hard for me to focus on my stories when I start posting again to keep at it. I always lose interest too quickly and the stories get put on hold indefinitely, it's just as bad with the gameplay and legacy posts. I'm thinking about what to do with the blog going forward, and it's likely that I'll be posting more pictures rather than stories in the future. Personally, I just don't enjoy working on story posts anymore and I'll will probably reduce that even more...
But nothing is ever for sure, so things can change again, ofc :x
Anyway, I'd also like to thank everyone who continues to be here and check out my posts from time to time. I really appreciate that there are still people who are interested, which is becoming less and less over the years. Some have also retired from the Sims Community for different reasons, so I appreciate everyone who is still here.
Thank you! ...to all of you! I hope and wish a good year 2024 for all of us! We need and deserve a better next year... and our Sims too!

Lvl 3: How to Mod the Sims for Diverse Gender Representation
Ready, player?
In my last blog post, I wrote about how recently the Sims 4 has made great progress with gender inclusivity. But today I wanted to discuss how mods and cc (custom content) can improve these features.
So, let’s get into it :)
Quick Download Tutorial
Installing mods for the Sims 4 on Windows is quite easy :)
First, you have to pick out the mod or custom content that you want. Most creators use SimsFileShare or their Patreon to store their mod files. Follow the ‘download’ button and your file will appear at the right of your screen.
Then as it downloads, open up your file and click on Documents, then Electronic Arts, then The Sims 4, then that will lead you to your Mods folder.
You will then click your downloaded file and drop it into your mods folder. For custom content, I organize my files into categories like hair, makeup, and outfits. However, for mods, you should just drop it in because layering files might cause the mod to break.
Then, boot up your Sims 4 and click Options on your main menu. This will open your settings and you will click Other, and check the box that says “Enable Custom Content and Mods.”
Then, restart your game, and once it is loaded back up, a mods folder will open up and list the mods you have in your game!
Queer Mods
Some of the best mods for gender representation in the Sims 4 are:
Lumpinou’s LGBTQIA+ / Gender & Orientation Overhaul Mod
Meep62’s Ingame Gender Transition Mod
PimpMySims4’s LGBT Mod
Zero’s Hormone Replacement Therapy Mod
Lumpinou’s mod encourages players to free their sims from the binary and is a fully customizable mod that expands the base game’s gender and sexuality features. It’s massive and allows players to make incredibly queer sims AND queer spaces with the LGBTQIA+ lot trait.
Meep62’s mod allows players to realistically represent their sims transition without enabling cheats and going into CAS. Through gameplay, players are given options to undergo gender affirmation surgeries, take hormones, and take voice training.
PimpMySims4’s mod is very similar to Lumpinou’s, where it expands on current gender and sexuality features, but this mod adds in LGBTQIA+ events like charity events, protests (City Living Expansion pack is needed), and queer gatherings.
Zero’s mod implements Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) where sims can get prescribed hormone medication, which impacts the sim’s moodlet buffs, their ability to gain and lose weight, and their appetite.
Custom Content
The world of Sims 4 custom content is MASSIVE. For this post, I will only focus on custom content that improves diverse gender representation. Here of some assets that I thought were cool:
amythesailor’s and leansims makeup that looks GOOD on masculine frame sims
sim_saurus’s recolored base game posters included 30 new variants
mightypistachio’s pride flag head scarfs
Although there is MUCH more to explore when it comes to the world of Sims 4 custom content, these are the ones I thought were some I’d add to my game in the future :)

This set was so much fun to make. I went out of my comfort zone and tried bringing more realness to the Sims 4. I really hope you all enjoy this set. I took a lot of you guys's ideas and implemented them.

Hi gi! glad to see you’re doing better, can’t wait to read what you’ve put out so far! But…I don’t know if you play sims4 or ever even heard of the sims franchise but! there has been a gameplay pack that has been released and it’s all about ✨horses✨. I watched Steph0sims review the pack (i really recommend her channel she is so fucking funny) and she encouraged me to very much buy this pack, and i don’t pay sims4 all that much anymore i am sims3 girly🫶. Anyways, as i write this i totally forgot my reasoning of telling you this, something about recreating blue jeans n texas dreams in the sims or something like that! I’m gonna end my rant please ignore me!!! i’m just walking past! I really hope you’re doing okay, drink some water, be a bad bitch (you already are) and focus on yourself!🫶

This being the digital age of the 2020s, much of this involves trawling the school’s anonymous “confessions” website, Rave-fess, and piecing together video and pictorial footage from the party where getting a good selfie or reel was a top priority, plus they're racing against time to capture those time-sensitive stories shared in real time via Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok and whatever else the youth are using these days.
This foray into Young Adult fiction doesn't disappoint. Think an Irish ‘Nancy Drew’ style read packed with some very relatable teens, loads of twisty page-turning suspense, and betrayal galore, all played out under the omnipresent and unforgiving glare of social media. This is a book easy to devour in one sitting, and I certainly want to read more books featuring these budding supersleuths! 4⭐

So my mood is really bad lately (likely because its the dark time of the year, or the fact that I freaking hate the cold, the stress that I have lately and some other issues that pop up here and there) and it makes me constantly pissed of and it easily makes me get into rage mode. So I rage quit Story of Seasons a wonderful life the other day because some crops died on me - yes, that was the reason, embarrassing, I know.
Anyway... this mood also seems to push hard on my impulse-buy shopping-addiction issue and so for some reason I've bought this game Eternights and I have no freaking idea what I've gotten myself into, to be honest. Its supposed to be like a dating slash action game with dating and dungeons. So I guess a bit like Persona in a sense. But uh... not sure if I won't regret buying this ^^'
It has good reviews tho.
So let's give it a try, while my gaming laptop next to me is desperately trying to install the huge amount of sims4 packs I own XD
Tag will be Eternights Mona Version for now. I might make it into something shorter along the way if I keep playing this. (By the way, just so you know, it was on sale! I did not buy it for the full price.)

Well when I got Snowy Escape I started collecting some nice traditional Japanese art. So today I finalized some of it into a nice piece of CC for you. So today I give to you, Views of Mount Fuji.

Today I give to you the Tendo Dojo! I have been working on this lot for a couple weeks (when not at work that is). It is mostly accurate to the show in layout, however there are some liberties taken with decoration.
Lot has 6 bedrooms, multiple bath facilities, and even has a shed for you to use for your own purposes. The shed was shown on the show, but I never could figure out what it’s purpose was.
The download file contains all the tray files, a screen grab of the lot (shown above), a text file listing all CC used in the build and where to download it, a second text file listing all packs needed for the build, and all the CC I did that this build uses.
Be sure you use bb.moveobjects BEFORE placing lot.

also. i just got my bonus at work and while i am putting the majority of it in savings i am going to splurge a lil for sometbing for myself, and I’m between two things and need opinions. I’m either gonna get the new airpods or sims4 and all the expansion packs. i’ve heard mixed reviews about both things so if anyone has any opinions they’d like to share pls let me know :)

Get to know my play style tag
I was tagged by @cantseemtohide Thank you :D I had a lot of fun doing this one ^.^
FAMILY SIZE AT THE START: Usually 1-3 sims (either just a single sim with or without a pet, a couple with or without a pet)
LIFESPAN OF MY SIMS: Depends! For my legacy saves I play on normal but I have some saves with long life spans. Sometimes I even play with aging off depending on what I’m up to.
FAVORITE FAMILY I HAVE PLAYED: Ahh I love all my families Q.Q HOW DO I CHOOSE JUST ONE? I mean I loved the sim I completed the 100baby challenge with in Sims3. I also obviously love the Peanuts. I really can’t choose though I get way too attached to all my babies.
AM I A MALEVOLENT OR BENEVOLENT GOD: Depends on how the dice rolls really. I pretty much use a legacy roller and take it from there. Sometimes it rolls in their favor other times it doesn’t. I guess that kind of makes me a chaotic god letting my sims suffer or live a good life based off chance.
WHAT I LIKE BEST ABOUT THE CURRENT VERSION OF SIMS I PLAY: I’m currently playing Sims4 and Sims2. I’ll do stuff for both I guess.
- Sims4: graphics :). I also really like the expansion packs as of late, I like how a lot of them have kind of core systems that you can build upon. I think this sort of stuff is really important in a sandbox game. I also really appreciate the CAS and build items the team has been giving us lately. In older versions of the sims I don’t think I could play vanilla but I think EA has been on point with a lot of the designs lately.
Sims2: Nostalgic value XD. Gameplay wise though most likely the humor in all the interactions. A lot of the stuff that happens in sims2 seems to have just a hint of dark humor and it amuses me greatly. Living off the land style of pack (aka what eco living should have been instead of laundry. Yes I’m still bitter lmao.)
extra trait slots! Even if we had to do something to earn them like we did in previous versions (i.e. pass university or join a certain influence etc.)
World selection UI overhaul. Please sort it A-Z instead of chronological based of pack release. I’d love it list still with words instead of pictures. I am not a visual person. I need words and order.
Review on teens. Teens are just mini adults. Change that.
I’d really like to see the part time jobs enhanced (and enabled for all ages)
after school activities that felt more like jobs.
Review on elders.

Bring that spinning machine from Sims2 into Sims4. You know the one I always post screenshots of lmao.
A family tree UI that doesn’t potato when you have lots of sims. My big family trees always look like a hot mess and only show a couple generations.
A hobbies pack that has like dancing, sports, crafts and similar kind of things. I would prefer this over a teen overhaul because it’d most likely help with the teens.

I’m going to stop ranting now, I’m sure I could think of more though. I’m usually pretty happy with the packs EA releases quality wise. There is more kind of core features and UI changes I’m after.
