Earlier this year, it was announced that Taapsee Pannu will be portraying the role of Mithali Raj, the ace captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. Soon after the announcement, the entertainment industry came to a halt due to the infamous Coronavirus lockdown. Making travelling overseas impossible, the makers of Shabaash Mithu have been relying on pictures to finalize locations since recce is not an option.

Ajit Andhare, COO of Viacom 18 said that they are waiting for the international travel to resume before they head for an elaborate shoot in the UK. Currently, the team is hunting for locations and figuring out the dates that might be convenient for all. As a producer, it is making him jittery to finalize locations that they have not seen in person but only through the pictures. Even though they can’t physically be present for the recce, they haven’t stopped the other pre-production work. The teams have already started finalizing the ensemble cast while Rahul Dholakia, director, and the team works on polishing the screenplay.

Alongside all these aspects, the music composition has also begun. Shabaash Mithu team only awaits a green light from the signal as they are all set to resume work with all their might.

Taapsee Pannu occupied the top spot on trends’ list on Saturday, courtesy her savage reply to a troll, who targeted her for casting vote in Delhi Assembly Elections after shifting to Mumbai. The actress, on Saturday, shared a photo after casting her vote, which featured her posing along with her mother Nirmaljeet, father Dilmohan Singh and sister Shagun in the capital city. Minutes after Taapsee posted the photo, one of the users on Twitter commented why the actress, who lives in Mumbai, gets to “decide” for those living in Delhi and also asked her to get her “vote shifted” to Mumbai, too. The actress, who often trends for her tweets and her gutsy replies to trolls, was quick to spot the user and responded to his comment like a “Delhiite.”

Taapsee posted a series of tweets, in which she reminded the user to “worry” about his citizenship, not hers. “I am living in Delhi as much if not more than Mumbai. My income is taxed through Delhi and I am more of a Delhiite than a lot of others who might just be living here but probably don’t contribute. Kindly don’t question my citizenship, worry about yours and your contribution to it,” wrote Taapsee.

The actress then slammed the user for telling what she “should do” and she “should not”. “And also to add, you can take a girl out of Delhi but you cannot take Delhi out of this girl. And you are no one to tell me what I should do and what I should not! I guess this response will be enough to tell you how much of a Delhiite I am,” read her second tweet.

For Taapsee Pannu, it has been an eventful years since she has managed to churn four back to back movies. In the beginning of 2018, Taapsee has been seen in Badla by Sujoy Ghosh with Amitabh Bachchan. Right after this movie, she has been seen in Game Over which has been a bi-lingual movie. Later on, she has been featured in Mission Mangal and Saand Ki Aankh.

So, following to a smashing 2019, she has been gearing up for 2020 now. Some amazing movies are in the hand of Taapsee at the moment. Soon, she will be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad. Later on, she has picked up a sport movie named Rashmi Rocket. For the first time in her career, Taapsee will be seen in a biopic with Shabaash Mithu which is based on the life of Indian Women Indian Cricketer and Former Indian Captain Mithali Raj. Now, she has been signed in for a murder mystery thriller named Haseen Dilruba. In this movie, Vikrant Massey has been casted opposite Taapsee Pannu.

Now, first look of Haseen Dilruba has been released by Taapsee through her social media profile and it is really interesting. In the poster, you may able to see a woman wearing a yellow saree while there are some blood on her feet. It is possible to see a knife nearby also. Lots of blood can be noticed around the knife. Announcing the release date of the movie on 18th September, 2020, Taapsee has captioned the picture as “I maybe bad but I’m perfectly good at it” Stepping into the world of #HaseenDillruba. Can’t wait for you guys to meet HER in theatres 18th September 2020!”

By the makers, it has been described as a twisted love story with a murder mystery in the center. From the poster, we are certain that it is a perfect combination of glamour and interesting story. From the red bangle and nail polish, a hint towards a glitzy life can be offered also.

In the 31st edition of our exclusive series, the Thappad actor talks about her first project, Tamil film Aadukalam. nbsp; Taapsee Pannu faced the film camera for the first time in Aadukalam (2011).Taapsee Pannu is creating her niche with films like Pink, Naam Shabana, Mulk, Badla, Game Over, Saand Ki Aankh and the latest Thappad. Picking content-driven films and strong characters, Taapsee has emerged as one of the most bankable female stars of Hindi cinema. But Taapsee never planned to acquire such a stature in films. The model-turned-actor says she just stumbled into the profession, eventually making her acting debut in 2010, when she signed two films together ndash; Aadukalam (Tamil) and Jhummandi Naadam (Telugu). Taapsee did nearly a dozen projects down south including Mr Perfect, Arambam and Mogudu, before turning to Bollywood with Chashme Baddoor (2013). Taapsee Pannu, who has movies like Shabaash Mithu, Rashmi Rocket, Haseen Dillruba and Looop Lapeta in her kitty, reveals how she stumbled into acting. She says though Jhummandi Naadam (2010) hit screens first, it was for Aadukalam (2011) that she first faced the film camera. Herersquo;s what she shared: 1. What was your first on camera acting project? How did the project come to you? I was doing modelling in Delhi just for the sake of pocket money. So all these casting directors in the south had my pictures. So they called me up, and I went there to do auditions. Even for auditions there, they just used to click pictures and see if the person fits in the look or not. I was very clear about the fact that I donrsquo;t know acting and I donrsquo;t know the language. They said we will teach you. So there were two films that I signed simultaneously ndash; one Telugu and one Tamil. Telugu film was called Jhummandi Naadam. It was directed by Raghavendra Rao. Hersquo;s the guy who introduced Sridevi marsquo;am and all. Hersquo;s known for launching heroines, and it was his 105th directorial. The other film which I signed was a Tamil film opposite Dhanush. It was called Aadukalam, directed by Vetrimaaran. That film went on to win six National Awards in 2011. When I signed it, since I had no idea about films, I just signed it based on my Google research of the people who were involved with the project. So I signed it simultaneously, but the first set that I went to shoot was Aadukalam. My first film that released was the Telugu one because that got finished earlier. On the first day, I was shooting in this slum kind of an area of Madurai. That was also my first time ever in south India, and I went there alone. I didnrsquo;t have any family member or anyone accompanying me. It was a totally different world because people didnrsquo;t speak the same language. The food was different. The job was different. What I was doing on the set was something I had never done before. So I did feel like sheep in the big city that day. On the first day, I just had two lines out of which one was Tamil and one was in English because I played an Anglo-Indian girl in the film. And that was my first time mouthing a language I donrsquo;t know. Obviously, I was nervous and conscious of everything possible. 3. Were you nervous? How many retakes did you take? I had to shoot with Dhanush and another senior actor (VIS Jayapalan) who played a very important part in the film. Both these actors eventually won a National Award for the film, and I didnrsquo;t. (laughs) So I am just aiming for that only, one fine day itrsquo;ll happen! But anyway, I shared the same space and then said those lines. The good part was the director was so smart that he knew that this is not my thing. So he put me in a scene where I am supposed to be clueless. And the way I said the line also was like, ldquo;mujhe kuch pata nahi hai, but main just bol rahi hoon! (I donrsquo;t know anything, but Irsquo;m just speaking for the sake of it!) I just said the line with that kind of expression. It was fine in the first take itself because I had to be so conscious and not so easy and comfortable in that space. And that worked because the director was smart enough to put me in that scene for the first time. 4. Who were your co-stars? How was the rapport with them when you got to meet or work with them again later? I majorly shot with Dhanush. Only very few shots with other actors. I had actors playing my family members who were real Anglo-Indian people from that area where we were shooting. I was in touch with the lady who played my grandma. I had a few scenes with her. She is no more alive, but I am still in touch with her family. Then I am still in touch with Dhanush. Other actors, I donrsquo;t really meet or know. I had very brief interaction with them because most of the times I was concentrating on my lines. I was so conscious of the fact that I donrsquo;t know the language, so I was over learning my lines out of the fear that I will forget. 5. If given a chance to go back to your debut role, whatrsquo;s that one thing yoursquo;d like to change or do better? Now itrsquo;ll be a totally different ballgame. Now even if I want to, I will not be able to recreate what I did. I donrsquo;t know how I will do it now, but it definitely will not be what it was.
