AMM Lighting Intro

I have to admit, I never got the hang of Cyberlit. When AMM introduced customizable spotlights and area lights, I was excited to try out the alternative. When I mentioned writing a tutorial on the Lizzie's server, several people expressed interest so I decided to share it with the larger community.

Currently this guide only covers spotlights but I will be adding area lights as well, as I find them just as useful—more so even, since I relied on them for months before figuring out how to effectively use spotlights. 😂

Brother's Shadow returns in a revamped form! Valerie Ocampo-Gonzalez is the half-sister of the mysterious rising star of the Afterlife, V. When their mother dies on a job on behalf of the corporate intelligence agent Dorian Bautista, Val must reunite with V to unlock secrets of the past, before it's too late.

Trey Marshall is the son of Loren Bode, the pack leader of an Aldecaldos pack that came afoul of the Biotechnica executive, Ainsley Mace. Basically, they saw something they shouldn't have. Trey was the only survivor, and changed his name to Trey Marshall to evade detection, fleeing east to Atlanta, where he established himself as a mercenary of some repute.

The face of a man who's been pretending to be someone else as long as he remembers.

While in Atlanta, he met a Night City native named Victoria (Vicky) Santiago, allegedly, the granddaughter of Santiago Aldecaldo. Vicky's mother is the sister of Trace Santiago, son of Santiago Aldecaldo and an unknown mother. She does mention to him that if the gig (which is to raid the Crystal Palace orbital station) falls through, they could go back to Night City, as she has 'powerful relatives' in the NC merc scene.

Surprise, surprise, the gig falls through and down on their luck, Vicky and Trey get on the first OA suborbital flight to NC, arriving mere weeks before the Konpeki Plaza incident. They are hired by the Militech Internal Affairs agent Dorian Bautista, to help him foil an Arasaka plot to execute a false flag attack to start the Fifth Corporate War by framing Militech for attempting an assassination on Saburo Arasaka.

The Bloodhounds of Internal Affairs: if they're onto you, just give up, you'll only die tired.

During the gig, Valerie's mother, Arianna Gonzalez, is mortally wounded by Arasaka cyberninjas and passes from her wounds, connecting Val and Trey through the death of her mother and revealing Val's secret half-brother, Vincent... or as Night City knows him, V: the fallen corpo, turned thief, turned ghost, now a rising star of the Afterlife.

The Name's V. Just V.

That brings us to the first chapter, The Picture of Dorian Bautista, which I'm currently writing and will release within the next week.

5th of August 2013. Alteria Cunningham dies. Arasaka Tower is under attack, a relative success on the terrorists' part. 20th of August, Johnny Silverhand and Santiago Aldecaldos flee together, to the deserts of NUSA.

2015, it's summer again and the rockerboy's actually back again. To celebrate, and keep the grasp of the Japanese megacorporation off their back, a tour in the UK is organized. And a new post for an art agent is created, to give the band a much needed, fresh coat of paint.

Enters V, bullshitter extraordinaire, looking to hole themselves a shelter in the world. Somehow, this should all go alright.

Every single verse I have for Johnny ♥♥♥ One stop shop for quick info on them too. This is a mix of the game and the ttrp, amongst some AUs I have.

prev ⩩ true rockerboy ; set anywhere between 2004 - 2008, Johnny is the co-lead of up and coming punk rock band “Samurai” shortly following the events of The Second Central American Conflict ( or the Mexican Conflict ). Their first debut single was “Blistering Love” which dominated worldwide, shortly followed by their first album of the same name. Amongst his band members- Nancy Hartley, Kerry Eurodyne, Denny, and Henry- they quickly shot to fame. Tensions within the band, especially related to Johnny’s irritability, increase in substance abuse, and Nancy’s incarceration for the murder of her abusive husband, led to its breakup at what was then the height of their careers. Many sources claim that the band would’ve broken up sooner- whether it be at Kerry’s insistence or Henry’s immaturity- but ultimately concluded that ( however far-fetched ) Johnny somehow kept the band together. [ Most muses will know him and his band as underground, playing in whatever venue they could, including ones that didn’t pay. ]

prev ⩩ sins of your brothers ; set anywhere between 2009 - 2013, following the breakup of “Samurai”, Johnny continued to tour and do shows with Kerry Eurodyne as a solo artist despite being signed to the same label as him. His first song was a result of the attempt at being blackmailed by DBS music, which threatened to release to the public his status as a soldier gone AWOL. He signed with the same label as he did “Samurai”, UMS, and released an album titled “SINS Of Your Brothers”, an exposé on the many war crimes committed by the government during his time as a soldier. As a result, public opinion of deserters changed into a positive light and Johnny began an underground project known as “Silverhand Studios”, a handful of garages and storage rooms used to provide shelter and other needs for budding artists much like him. He often poured all of his money into that project and his music, which left little for much else. He dated and broke up with Rogue Amendiares sometime during 2010 - 2011, remaining friends afterwards. Not too long after he began dating Altiera Cunningham, she broke up with him. On the same day, Arasaka kidnapped her. [ This is the height of Johnny’s career and his ultimate downfall; while he’s known for his solo albums, it’s not uncomming for him to be confused as still in Samurai due to his involvement with Kerry. ]

⚠ FIRST ARASAKA RAID HAPPENS ; Johnny plays a solo gig at the base of Arasaka Tower to divert attention from the raid he puts together with Rogue, Santiago, and Thompson. Collectively on a mission to get Alt back, although she’s dead on arrival . . . sort of. Upon Johnny’s arrival, she’s midway in the process of Soulkiller’s effects, but Johnny is unaware of this and inadvertently kills her when unplugging her from the Net. He carries her lifeless body out of the building and goes into hiding with Rogue and Santiago. [ It’s not unknown that Johnny did this raid and who with, as he started a riot at the base of the tower in attempt to divert attention. ]

prev ( nomad ) ⩩ wind in your hair ; set during 2013 - 2015 after the initial raid of Arasaka tower, with Santiago Aldecaldo and Rogue, Johnny followed them to lay low with the Aldecaldos, initially for a number of months and up to a year. However, he decided he’d use the opportunity to start fresh and attempted to leave Night City altogether, without much of a trace behind. While he never does, he begins his new life with many Nomad clans, bouncing between them. Most notably, the Aldecaldos, although he went by “Robert” and refuted being even related to the rockerboy known as Johnny Silverhand. He hardly checks his phone, checks the news, or anything, in attempt to get as far away from Night City as he can. Notably, however, he can’t seem to get any farther than the Badlands . . . [ These are Johnny’s “missing years” and the most well kept guarded secret amongst Nomads. While it’s known publicly he was with them- and most notably with the Aldecaldos- none have come forward with his personal information during his time with them. ]

prev ⩩ never fade away ; set anywhere between 2015 - 2023, after returning from the Badlands, Johnny attempts to forget it and put it all behind himself. He continued to make music and, in 2020, put “Samurai” back together for a reunion tour amongst other things. This was at the height of his substance abuse and Johnny often had a short fuse around people when he wasn’t high or drunk. Despite many offers, Johnny refused to work with a manager, move out of the Pistis Sophia, or essentially anything that would get him out of the dark pit he dug for himself. Sometime during then, Johnny gets a message from Alt, notifying that she’s alive and trapped in Arasaka’s subnet. However, she urges Johnny that she’s safe and to leave her alone. He doesn’t heed her advice and forms the same group as before- but notably recruits Morgan Blackhand as extra firearm support and his connection to fissile material. [ Many consider this to be where Johnny stagnated creatively and in every other field, as he considered his career a weight more than anything else. He peeled away from friends and was more easily irritable, deepening his addictions and burning more of his bridges. ]

⚠ SECOND ARASAKA RAID AND SUBSEQUENT BOMBING / AHQ DISASTER; during 2023, after Alt’s message, Johnny raids Arasaka HQ and plants a bomb in a gesture to end the fourth corporate war and free Alt from Arasaka’s subnet. While he succeeds in both with the help of Rogue, Shaitan Weyland, Blackhand, and Spider Murphy, he gets cornered by Adam Smasher and subsequently dragged to have Alt’s program used against him, turning him into an engram. Whilst this is happening, the bomb’s initial plan fails and gets stuck in the elevator instead of dropping down to the foundation of the building, sending debris across the city and affecting thousands- both injuries and casualties. [ Johnny’s involvement with the bombing- also known as the “Night City Holocaust” due to the devastation it caused- is often debated by the public as he was never found afterwards. Many speculated it was by him, many others suspected it was by Militech, potentially Biotechnica, a handful of Nomads, or whoever else. ]

main ⩩ data construct ; set during the events of 2077, after Johnny’s engram is transferred from Mikoshi to a separate experimental version of the Relic in Arasaka’s attempt to craft immortality. Not too long after the conception of the project, he is stolen by Yorinobu Arasaka and, later, petty merc thieves V and Jackie Welles. [ Actual canon of this verse changes depending on the V I’m writing with but notably: not many people know of Johnny’s existence. I default to Johnny having the highest affinity with V possible, including the oil fields talk, and that his additional sidequests are complete, picking Denny over Henry. ]

postmain ⩩ we have to pay the price ; ⚠ DIVERGENT! following the events of the third Arasaka raid ( whether it be with Rogue’s help or Panam’s ), V chooses to let Johnny live on in the body and he spends his time reinventing himself. Instead of leaving Night City, Johnny stays and attempts to restart his life for a third time, getting a menial job as a storefront cashier and attempting to earn as much money as he did when he was a rockerboy to restart his “Silverhand Studios” project ( although he may have to do it with a different name now . . . ).  postmain ⩩ in our hunger ; ⚠ DIVERGENT!  either following the events of the third Arasaka raid ( whether it be with Rogue’s help or Panam’s ) or through sheer luck, the progress of the biochip has seemingly stagnated. Johnny and V are one in the same, and either can take over at any time or simply be co-conscious. [ Johnny never actively pretends to be V, unless the situation calls for it. He tries to be productive as best he can and avoids substances out of respect for V’s body. Although he can take over whenever he wants, he’ll often ask for V’s permission before using the body and will try to split time with it evenly between the two of them. ]

post ( au ) ⩩ souljacker ;  following the events of the third Arasaka raid ( whether it be with Rogue’s help or Panam’s ), Johnny’s body was found amongst Arasaka’s storage, which his engram slots back into, effectively reviving Johnny fifty years after his death. To sustain himself, his body underwent a massive overhaul- including the replacement and update of multiple organs, new optics, and other related things- and is a retired citizen of Night City. He keeps his head down most times, though, and tends to bounce between Kerry’s villa, V’s apartment, or the Afterlife.

forza horizon ( au ) ⩩ going the distance ; while he’s known for his music, Johnny is far more known for his street racing, being an incredibly capable driver. He tends to follow the latest Horizon festivals and is a qualified racer but tends to prefer competing in the nearby street races, winning considerably menial prizes but loving the adrenaline rush afterwards.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN PROMPTS

Juno was supposed to be at a concert tonight, wasn't she? She was supposed to be gone all night with Jack and Vale was counting on that. As a teenager, Vale began to participate in the quality that made all teens teens: Rebellion. The spirit of rebellion that lived in every teenager the minute they made it from twelve to thirteen. To officially be a teen meant you had an attitude, you had to sneak out, you needed to act out and really just...expose your soul to the world! Vale grew up with this idea of legends, of legacies, of heroes whose stories would echo throughout all time. Even if their heroes weren't the most heroic. Rogue Amendiares, Santiago Aldecaldo, Johnny Silverhand, Andrew "Boa Boa" Weyland, and fuckin' Spider Murphy! Those were some top tier badasses and Vale wasn't going to be any kind of legend if they just stayed in their house all day when Juno and Jack were out at work.

So that's why they would sneak out. That's why they would go out into the world and make a name for themself. You had to start young if you wanted to be noticed, and there were a couple people who really understood that! Like Valencia and Trilla! They knew what it meant to get on the streets and kick some ass! It's just, uh, this time they. They kinda got their ass kicked this time.

Just a...a couple people had an issue with the fact that Vale...didn't exactly talk a lot. They were doing better now! They talked more! That didn't matter, though, when those other kids ganged up on them and told Vale they had a "fuckin' attitude" because they weren't talking to strangers. One thing lead to another and...yeah. There was now blood still trickling under their nose, a cut on their cheek, and there would definitely be some bruising on their face later.

"I." Their hands were immobile, clasping tight onto the hem of their shirt to provide some grounding in the chaos. "Strangers. Not friends. Heywood. I'm sorry."
