*:･ﾟ✧ super sonic is treated like an absolute last resort, and you will almost never see sonic’s usual behavior when he is in this form. in fact, he gets incredibly serious when in this state, to the point its almost unnerving considering just who this is--- when has anyone really seen him crack a smile? when super sonic is required for a situation, that means it’s incredibly dire and there is absolutely no room for him to play any games. every time the option of super sonic comes up, sonic will turn it down until it is the only option he has left--- and you bet your ass he puts his all into everything he does when going into this form.

*:･ﾟ✧ this is due to the fact that in both sa1 and sa2, it was an incredibly dangerous situation that required super sonic. to focus more on sa2, more specifically post-sa2--- sonic is hesitant to become super sonic. while yes, he and shadow were able to stop the finalhazard and put the ark back where it belonged, it came at the cost of shadow’s life. despite sonic’s best efforts, even in his super state--- he’s unable to catch the other hedgehog before he falls, and is forced to watch, helplessly being unable to do anything to prevent it. i like to believe it’s because when sonic’s running low on power to remain that way, and he starts noticeably getting weaker and moving slower; closer to his usual state. (very clearly) it was a traumatic event for him, and is part of the reason why he’s so hesitant now. what if he makes that same mistake? what if he’s unable to save someone again? what if he fails entirely?

*:･ﾟ✧ but he’s also learned from the experience to be more careful, as well as more aware of things around him. he’s no longer nearly as reckless as prior (if you could even call it that), and would constantly be aware of how much time as super sonic he has left. he makes sure every single decision he makes is the right one, and does NOT allow himself to mess up. not again. he makes sure to do his damnedest that nothing stops him, nothing gets in his way, and no one dies because of his recklessness again. some could probably argue it’s actually scary when sonic goes super, as he’s so devastatingly focused on getting the job done.

*:･ﾟ✧ i don’t know if this is canon or not, but i’ll throw it on here since i think it’s relevant enough--- whenever sonic returns to normal, the chaos emeralds will IMMEDIATELY disappear and be warped to random locations all over the planet. this is done by sonic INTENTIONALLY--- while yes, the emeralds have been used and are considerably weaker, they likely can still be used after he’s transformed. having them in one spot just after he’s returned to normal could be catastrophic (provided anyone with ill intent is nearby to use them), so he makes them spread out in order to let them naturally recharge, as well as harder to track down and collect them all. sometimes it works in his favor, sometimes it doesn’t.

*:･ﾟ✧ super sonic is an absolute force to be reckoned with--- especially if it’s whirl’s version of super sonic anyone is put up against, because he will show almost absolute no mercy to whatever caused super sonic’s necessity.
